This card is a great example how to draw butterflies. I think that I definetely should try to draw at least one of them. It will be nice lesson to improve my drawing skills :)

Here is one more card with my favourite butterflies. I don't know the types of butterflies and so on, but I like their beauty. These both (especially top one) have great colours. Who knows maybe I'll try to draw it one day? :)

Flower Fairies are illustrations by Cicely Mary Barker, created during the first half of the 20th century. Unable to go to school as a child because of her epilepsy, she was home-schooled and spent much of her time drawing and painting. Her artwork was influenced by illustrator Kate Greenaway and even more so by the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, and she developed her talent as a member of the Croydon Art Society. Her flower fairy paintings, in particular, were driven by the Victorian popularity of fairies and fairy stories.

Some time ago I started to learn drawing. That's the thing that quires practice :) the card looks quite simple, so I decided to try to draw it. I removed butterflies from my view and what I drew in result:

Not so nice as on the card, but I'm just improving my skills :)

The words on the postcard say (in translation from Finnish): 'Small miracles to you day'. So for me to receive a beautiful postcard (especially butterfly) with beautiful stamp is a miracle :)

Firstly I saw this colourful postcard and was alredy happy! Butterfly is all I need for happiness :) after love, sure, hehe :)

Then I read the text on the backside and knew that images inside the butterfly are combined from music Gareful Dead. After that I opened youtube and listened to some sings, but no, it's not my music. However postcard is still great! :)

The Grateful Dead was an American rock band formed in 1965 in Palo Alto, California. The band was known for its unique and eclectic style, which fused elements of rock, folk, bluegrass, blues, reggae, country, improvisational jazz, psychedelia, and space rock, and for live performances of long musical improvisation. "Their music," writes Lenny Kaye, "touches on ground that most other groups don't even know exists." These various influences were distilled into a diverse and psychedelic whole that made the Grateful Dead "the pioneering Godfathers of the jam band world". They were ranked 57th in the issue The Greatest Artists of all Time by Rolling Stone magazine. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and their Barton Hall Concert at Cornell University (May 8, 1977) was added to the Library of Congress's National Recording Registry. It's so wonderful to receive a postcard from rare country for the 1st time! And double wonderful if here is a postcard with butterflies. And stamps are also with butterflies! I'm super happy :)

Ghana has a land mass of 238,535 km2, with 2,093 kilometres of international land borders. Ghana is bordered by the Ivory Coast in the west, Burkina Faso in the north, Togo in the east and the Gulf of Guinea and Atlantic Ocean in the south. The word Ghana means "Warrior King".

Thymelicus lineola

My mailbox is getting happy again and again with each new butterfly postcard :) this one flew to me from Finland.

The Essex skipper (Thymelicus lineola) is a butterfly of the Hesperiidae family. In North America, it is known as the European skipper.

With a wingspan of 2.5 to 2.9 cm it is very similar in appearance to the small skipper Thymelicus sylvestris. They can be told apart by the undersides of the tips of the antennae: the Essex skipper's are black whereas those of the small skipper are orange. This butterfly occurs throughout much of the Palaearctic region. Its range spreads from southern Scandinavia through Europe to North Africa and east to Central Asia It was only identified in the UK in 1889 and its range is expanding both in England and in northern Europe. In North America, this butterfly was accidentally introduced in 1910 via London, Ontario and has spread across southern Canada and to several northern US states.

This beautiful collection of butterflies was sent to me by Astrid and received in early December. These butterflies are similar to Pieridae family, but I'm not sure.
So I do as usual - like butterflies even if I don't know their names :)

Colias phicomone

Here is a real wonderful maxi card. Look at the cancellation stamp - here is 1991 year! So this is a big luck to receive such card, especially with my lovely butterfly :)

The Mountain Clouded Yellow (Colias phicomone) is a butterfly in the family Pieridae. It is found in the Cantabrian Mountains, the Pyrenees, the Carpathian Mountains and the Alps. It flies at altitudes of 900 to 2800 meter.

The wingspan is 40–50 mm. The butterfly flies from June to August depending on the location.

Yeah, one more amazing butterfly to my collection. I tried to find some info about this butterfly, but unfortunately I couldn't find anything others than Wallpapers with butterflies links :)

However this is a really cute wallpaper. I also can set it to my desktop, but there is a place for our wedding photos (тo, I'm not tired to review it :)).

here is one more postcard to my butterfly collection. This butterfly has almost black-and-white colors, but looks so great in any case!

The Eastern Festoon (Allancastria cerisyi) is an Old World papilionid butterfly whose geographical range extends from the Balkans to include Turkey and the near Middle East. It exhibits several geographical variants. It is named for Alexandre Louis Lefèbvre de Cérisy.

The wingspan is 52–62 mm. The butterfly flies from March to July depending on the location.

Here is a great postcard where I see sense of the future. The butterfly sits on the robot's hand. It's like peaceful coexistence of nature, humanity with technique, robots.

This September has brought to me a number of really great card. This one is a great example for this. I don't know the name of this butterfly, but it's really beautiful - the colour and pattern. Perfection!
