ALEXA: Marianne, we're so happy you could join us today. So, let's get busy. How often do you get lost in a story?
MARIANNE: As often as I can! I do most of my reading at night, in the hour or so before I nod off to sleep. Great books (and there are so many, aren’t there?) tend to keep me awake and turning those pages (scrolling those pages…I’m a Kindle girl when I read at night…)
ALEXA: Tea or Coffee? And how do you take it?
MARIANNE: Mmmmmm—coffee, French roast, black, with a bagel, please! J
ALEXA: Is there a playlist
you’d recommend for reading your latest release?
MARIANNE: Actually, you bet
there is! Sisters in Spirit, we discover in the course of the series, produce
and perform a song called ‘Nothing to Hide.’ Want to check out the music and
video? Here’s the link on YouTube!! https://www.goodreads.com/videos/72368-sisters-in-spirit-nothing-to-hideALEXA: What is your biggest vice?
MARIANNE: Freshly popped popcorn, made on the stovetop, extra butter. ::DIVINE!::
ALEXA: What’s the first
thing you do when you finish writing a book?
MARIANNE: B-R-E-A-T-H-E!!! In
general, the process of writing a book sends me on a journey the likes of which
I hope is mirrored by my readers. I take the rollercoaster ride right along
with my characters. By the time I reach ‘The End’ they’re precious family to
me, and I have to kind of sit back, go still, and just…breathe! After that,
it’s on to the next batch of folks who are battling to claim my attention,
which I love!ALEXA: If you could interview one person (and it doesn’t have to be a writer) who would it be? MARIANNE: I would most love to sit down and talk to/interview Jesus Christ. No matter your belief, His impact, what He created here on Earth in thirty-three short years, with no internet, no social media, no means by which to ‘reach the world’ except for His personality, His message, and His disciples, would be incredible to absorb and explore!
MARIANNE: The Holy Land. No question. If time and money were of no object, I’d be there in a heartbeat. I would love to walk the streets and experience the history.
ALEXA: What’s the best birthday (or any holiday) present you ever received?
MARIANNE: The best birthday present I ever received was an engagement ring, on my 19th birthday, from my forever love to this day, Steve Evans. He delivered it to me during dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant; it was strapped within the paws of a big, cuddly teddy bear he brought into the restaurant in a plastic toy-store bag. ::LOVE!::
ALEXA: Describe an
absolutely perfect day.
MARIANNE: A day uncommitted
to anything but writing, and when I sit down to write, the scenes and words
flow like water. That, to me, is better than any ‘high’ that can be imagined.
Truly.ALEXA: Anything else you want to share with us, Marianne?
MARIANNE: I will provide one autographed, print copy of the ENTIRE Sisters in Spirit series (4-book anthology) to one lucky commenter! If the commenter is outside North America, I’ll provide e-copies instead.
