Sharing Class Photos - Graphic 45 Seasons Step Cards

Saturday I taught my first card class for 2018. It was the G45 SEASONS STEP CARD class, and the ladies did a beautiful job on their cards while having a lot of fun.

I did forget, at the beginning of class, to take some photos until the 'Spring' cards were completed. If you would like to see the photos a littler larger, just click on them.

Starting the 'Summer' card.

Now for the 'Autumn' card.

And the 'Winter' card.

Thank you ladies for coming to class and for the enjoyable time we had in class together.

Happy creating everyone!

G45 "Fairy Dust" Diorama Card Class

Even though it is just days before Christmas, I have been busily working on classes for 2018. Always great to get them done with lots of time for everyone to to view them and plan to take the classes offered at Scrapbook Essentials BC. Great as an Instructor too, to have things planned and ready to go. Then I just have to put together the class kits for you when the class date draws near. The goal is to plan a 'quarter' (three months) of classes at a time, and have the samples ready for you.

You have already seen the classes I have prepared for January and February, and now this is the first March class samples! This will be it for now, as we are waiting for some product to come in for the rest of my March classes.

For the March Graphic 45 class we are using the beautiful "Fairy Dust" paper! That isn't the only exciting thing about this class; we will also be creating two A7 (5 x 7) DIORAMA CARDS!

Here they are!

They will fit beautifully in A7 envelopes to mail. They will, however, be thick which will mean additional postage if you mail them off to someone special,

G45 Fairie Dust -- Diorama Cards

WHEN: Saturday, March 10th
WHERE: Langford Legion Crop
TIME: 9:30 - 12:30
COST:
$35.00 + GST

To register for the class, contact Stacey - sbebc2011@gmail.com or 778-533-4290.

March and Spring is soon upon us! Perfect time of year to create some lovely Spring / Easter / Mother's Day cards. And not just any card, but Diorama Cards! They fit into an A7 (5 x 7) card envelope, but will be thick. There will be a die cutting station set up for you to use as we will have to attach the paper onto the cardstock before we can die cut.
Please have a look at the samples at the Studio in the New Year.
You will be guided with printed instructions to help you create these cards, and there will be HOMEWORK. The homework kits will be ready for you the 1st or 2nd of March.
PLEASE BRING TO CLASS: Homework, paper trimmer, 12 x 12 score pad with scoring tool, bone folder, scissors, double sided adhesive tape, craft mat, liquid glue, and black 3D foam squares or tape.

AND I forgot to mention on the store post that it might be a good thing to bring your Wink of Stella or Glimmer Pen to class. It was an after thought once everything was posted that it would have been a good thing to use. I had not thought of using it when I made the cards.

So let's have a closer look at the cards.

As you can see in the next photo, that card fits nicely in the envelope.

When out, you can manipulate it to the form it into a Diorama Card.

A little closer look into the inside of the diorama.

A side view of the card.

Next comes the horizontal version of a Diorama card. This one has two inner layers, which makes a little thicker than the previous diorama with one interior layer. But it still fits into the envelope, but is a little thicker.

Here is the card standing on it's own. You can peek into the inside.

A little closer look into the inside.

and the other side view.

So that is it for these wonderful keepsake diorama cards!

See you in March for this class!

Happy creating everyone!

Watercolour Pencil Class #5 - Altenew Striped Floral

Our fifth Watercolour Pencil Class! Everyone taking the class series, is doing so well. I look forward to introduce you to some new things in this class. (details in class description below)

Just one note before you continue on. The image with the gold embossed "celebrate" we will not do the embossing in class. I just wanted to show you what you could do with the space we will be leaving on both of the paintings made for cards.

Watercolour Pencil Class #5 - Altenew Striped Floral

WHEN: Saturday, February 24th
TIME: 10:00 - 12:00
COST: $25.00 + GST
At the Studio

To register for the class, contact Stacey - sbebc2011@gmail.com or 778-533-4290.

For this class we will paint using an Analogous colour scheme with gold embossed lines. We will not be embossing a sentiment on your painting piece as I tried to do on mine. You can stamp whatever you like at home when you create your card. The other piece uses a light coloured ink to give the image a faint line look and using water to make the colours bleed out past the colouring lines to create a more impressionistic look.

For those of you that are using the Spectrum Noir Aqua Blend Watercolour Pencils, you will need the "Florals" set for this class to add to your colour repertoire.

BRING TO CLASS: all your Watercolour Pencils (if you have Spectrum Noir Aqua Blend Watercolour Pencils you will need two sets - Naturals & Florals, craft mat, wooden cutting board, heat tool, Kraft knife &/or pencil sharpener, water colour brushes, Aqua Brushes, small amount of water in a jar, paper towel, and clear Wink of Stella or Spectrum Noir Glimmer pen.

It is fun to do so many different kind of things with stamps and watercolour pencils. Look forward to seeing you there!

In the meantime happy creating!

Spellbinders Educator Class #11 - Poppies

Due to a problem getting the Poppy Dies, we are switching Spellbinders #10 and #11 to give these Poppy dies time to arrive. SO WHAT USED TO BE # 10 IS NOW #11 AND WHAT USED TO BE #11 IS NOW #10. Some sort of delay with the manufacturer... SO if you saw the change of numbers &  dates, now you know why.

This class will only produce two cards because of the detail work and the letterpress technique which is new to most of the people that take classes from me.

I love how they turned out, and I know that you will have a lot of fun making these too!

SPELLBINDERS EDUCATOR CLASS #11

WHEN: Wednesday, February 28th
TIME: 6:00 - 8:30
COST: $45.00 + GST (includes $28 die)
To register for the class, contact Stacey - sbebc2011@gmail.com or 778-533-4290.
We all love Poppies, and that is what we get to work with from Spellbinders! A beautiful Poppy die set (S4-815), and they have a few different ones! So if you like Poppies, ask Stacey about these beautiful dies.
What will we do with these dies in class? I will introduce you to using die cuts to create a 'letterpress' look. Great technique to use in a number of ways. And of course we have to maximize the use of the die by assembling all the parts to create beautiful Poppies.
As these techniques are a little time consuming, we will only have time to make two cards in class, but you will go home with some fun techniques to use as well as the die set!
PLEASE BRING TO CLASS: Die cutting machine with all of your plates, rubber embossing mat, your die set if you already have it before class, scissors, double sided adhesive tape, liquid glue, Glossy Accents, a couple of Q-Tips, Buttercup Liquid Pearls, & Oxide Fired Brick (will have mine if you need to borrow it). And you will also need Distress Bundled Sage and Tattered Rose (forgot to put this on the list for scrapbook Essentials BC)

I really love how the California Poppy on grey turned out!

And now for the Letterpress technique! This is a real fun technique that can make some pretty incredible cards. I am keeping it simple for this class as it will be a new technique for most taking the class. (I think I got a little carried away with the sequins though)

Looking forward to seeing you in class!

Happy creating!

Watercolour Pencil Class - Penny Black "Live it Up"

Time for another Watercolour Pencil class!

This time we will be focusing on two different ways to create a sky with a few fluffy clouds. (Again apologies for the photos)

WHEN: Saturday, January 20th
WHERE: Langford Legion Hall
TIME: 10:00 - 12:00
COST:
$25.00 + GST

To register for the class, contact Stacey - sbebc2011@gmail.com or 778-533-4290.

We are going to have some fun with this class! Basic cloud and sky techniques will be the focus of this class, as well as how to use colour to give shape/dimension to objects. You will be introduced to the "Stomping" technique, to create clouds, on the 'tip to tip' Pearl Embossed hot air balloon scene, and on the other you will use your pencils to colour on the paper with colour saturation, before using your water brushes.

PLEASE BRING TO CLASS - All your watercolour Pencils, Aqua Brushes or traditional watercolour brushes, a jar with water, paper towel, a plastic lid or watercolour pallet, washi-tape or watercolour tape or masking tape, your wood cutting board with handle, and heat tool. Always bring to watercolour pencil classes your craft knife or pencil sharpener, and a NOTEBOOK to write down tips and things you learn. A good idea to bring to every class you attend.

A great little stamp set for this class. There are only a limited number of these stamp sets available, as the wholesaler has discontinued them, So if you haven't already purchased this stamp set from Stacey, be sure to contact her before they are gone!

See you all in class Ladies! Happy creating!
