Valentines

I was so tickled when Papertrey came out with the Love You to Pieces collection to create the cutest little 3D puzzle punch-outs! They are somewhat labor-intensive but fun and worth the effort.

Since I wanted to limit the number of these that I had to produce, I made them for my youngest daughter's unusually small class size:  5 girls and 11 boys.

For the girls:

For the boys:

Here are the envelopes I decorated:

File Folder Scrapping III

It's here! The third in the series of the popular File Folder Scrapping system is now available at Paper Architecture with Sabrina. I have a few photos for you see and towards the end a walk through video of the project.

Let's now have a look at the inside! Don't you just love those happy, bright, "Summery" colors!

When we remove the journaling tags with the orange ribbon we reveal the photo tags under them.

The photo tags can be removed so you can have a better look at the photos that will be on them...front...back or just front and journaling on the back?

On the right, we have a space for a larger photo with another little journaling tag that can be removed.

Now, this panel flips open toward the right to reveal more.

In the center we have magnet closures for two photo flip-ups!

If you wish a few more details, here is the video walk-through of this File Folder Layout.

Hope you enjoyed looking at this version of my File Folder Scrapping series. I'd love to hear how your creation of file folder scrapbooking turns out!

I'm looking forward to posting more fun projects I have in the works! Till then, happy papercrafting!

File Folder Scrapping Holder

Over the past few months I have posted "File Folder Scraping" projects.
  1. File Folder Scrapping I
  2. File Folder Scrapping II - version one & version two
  3. File Folder Scrapping III - is nearly done!
When creating the videos of thee projects I had used a magazine box holder I made from scratch that would hold six of these File Folder Scrapping projects. Many expressed interest in making one for their File Folder Scrapping projects a well. So though there is nothing beautiful or exciting about this box, I'm posting a couple of photos and letting those who are interested, know that the project is up on my "Paper Architecture with Sabrina" blog.

In the following photo you can see the original box in the background, holding three File Folder Scrapping units. The one in the foreground is the one I made to make your video instructions.

This holder could also hold several of your favorite scrapbooking/cardmaking magazines, store your
8 1\2" x 11" cardstock, and so much more! Make them all match for your craft room, or around your home.  So if you'd like to make one, hop on over to Paper Architecture with Sabrina!

You'll be finding the File Folder Scrapping III unit up soon!

Happy papercrafting!

File Folder Scrapping II - Instructions

Do you remember this? And this?

Well when I prepared to teach this class some time in September or October 2013 for the second design in the series, I had promised you I'd put up the second set instructions on Paper Architecture for you. I've finally had the time to do it for you! Thank you so very much for your patience.

In making the  second design for the tutorials that accompany the instructions I used different paper. Leftover Graphic 45's French Country as a matter of fact. So here it is. I'll show the photo's first, and then add the new walk-though video using this paper.

Just to refresh your memory, this is the one I taught for the class back in 2013.

Now back to the French Country version. Here is a closer look at the spine embellishments.

And the cover embellishments...

And when you open the folder you see this...

This folder holds 25 to 30 photos! And all in a file folder! Here are some more details...

This tag pulls out...

And this opens up to reveal...

two more photo mats. And tucked in behind are...

one...

two...

and three photo and journaling tags! What's next?  Well...

let's untie this and see what we find.

Cascading photo mats! See I told you it can hold a lot of photos.... Here's a side view.

Ready for more details? View the walk-through video next.

Be sure to leave a comment if you are interested in more File Folder Scrapping designs and if you'd be interested in the box instructions too.

Hope on over to Paper Architecture to purchase your set of measurements, instructions and tutorial videos on how to make this project.

Thank yo so much for stopping by today. Happy papercrafting!

My Christmas Gift to Mom - Multi-Purpose Tray Organizer

Merry Christmas, Mom!

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I grew up having our Christmas on Christmas Eve, so that means my Mom now has her gift, and I can post it...actually I scheduled it.

My Mom is writing her life story along with a little family history. I look forward to reading it even though I have heard some of these stories throughout my life. I wanted to make her something for Christmas that might help her with this project. I don't know how many chapters she will end up with, but this would be a start. I came up with a tray-organizer, and using the beautiful spring papers of Graphic 45's Sweet Sentiments, this is the result.

I used all but five sheets from the 12 x 12 paper pad, with some scraps enough to make a few cards as well. The project measures 12 3/8" w x 5 3/4" d x 9 1/4" h.

It starts with a chipboard base tray, and all of the parts that go into it are individual pieces that you can configure it in different ways. Here is the tray alone.

Here are all the parts!

You see 15 mini-magazine-like holders, a pen & pencil holder, and a compartment to hold notebooks and more. Here's a shot with the notebook.

Here is an individual little mini-magazine-like holder.

So when all the parts are assembled in the tray in the configuration you like, you have a useful organizational tool. In the YouTube video, I demonstrate some different uses for this project. But, first let's look at the loaded tray from all angles.

So that's it for the photos, but you can view a walk through video where I also share a few multi-purpose uses for this project.

What other functions for this project can you come up with?

Thank you for stopping by to share in my gift to my Mom. (Added late Christmas Eve: My Mom loved it!)
