I Brake for Poppies!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a sympathy card that I made for my husband's aunt.  His uncle passed away a few days ago and we wanted to send her a pretty card.

I just got a new set that I was anxious to use.  It's called
HALF SHEET POPPIES
The verse is from the full sheet called
EVERY DAY PHRASES.

I used one more flower from the set on the inside along with the sentiment called WITH SYMPATHY.

I fussy cut the poppies and popped the up on dimensional foam.

Iris Sympathy

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a sympathy card.  My best friend from school lost her dad recently and I needed three cards for her family.

I used

When we were young Caren's favorite color was purple so
I went with the iris for that reason.

Through the Eyes of a Child

Hello and happy Saturday.
Today I'm sharing a card that I wish I didn't have to make.
My sister has friends whose son has Cancer and is failing right now.  They don't think that he'll make it through the weekend.  She asked me for a card ahead of time so that she'd have it the moment she needs it.  She'd gladly put it through a shredder if a miracle happens though.

I've used two verses from I Brake for Stamps on my card.

On the front I used

Eyes of a Child

This card was so difficult to make.  I picked out paper and put it away three times because it didn't seem right.  I had the verse stamped and matte cut in a different color and tossed them.  It's not easy to be inspired when you need a card for this reason.

On the inside I used
With Sympathy

The little boy's name is Cooper which is why I put the C in the heart.

I Brake For...Sympathy Cards

Greetings, gentle Sunday readers. Sympathy cards are never easy cards to create or to make, they are even less easy to give. My extended family has recently suffered one loss and another part of that family is getting ready to experience another. While making cards with the express intent to be sympathy cards isn't a fun concept, you can work on a beautiful project and turn it into a sympathy card at almost the last minute, this is what I did with this card.

I heat embossed, with gold embossing powder, the Butterfly Background stamp from I Brake For Stamps. Then I colored the butterflies and surrounding paper with Zig Real Clean Color Brush Markers. This was a fun and very rewarding project to work on, it went rather quickly and the results were incredibly beautiful.

I didn't have any intention, when I started working on this project, to turn it into a sympathy card. However, once I was finished with it I kept looking at it and realized that this might be a cheerful thing to send to someone who needs cheering up. I kept thinking about the family members that I would be needing to send sympathy cards too.

I was fortunate that I found the colored paper in my stash that matched the butterflies and background, I assure you that this hadn't been planned, I wish I HAD planned it! Then I went searching through my stash for a sympathy sentiment. I also heat embossed this, using the same gold embossing powder. For a final touch, I added a bit of gold embroidery thread. I hope that the result is that this card sends a beautiful smile to a loved ones face through their time of heartache.

This is just one stamp example of the many that would make perfect sympathy cards found at the I Brake For Stamps page. There are some incredibly LOVELY stamps you could use to brighten up a loved one's day!

I hope I have inspired you, and that you find something that helps loved ones through their more difficult times.

With Sympathy ...

Hello IBFS fans !!!
It's Crystal here and today's card was made using Half Sheet Poppies and With Sympathy sentiment

I really love how this card turned out , the poppies were copic colored and water color specks were splattered on the finished colored look , I added my die cut sentiment "With Sympathy " is an Impression Obsession die , I cut two and stacked them to create a thicker stand out sentiment.I added brown glitter stickles dots to the centers of the poppies .

Inside my card I used colored inks to stamp the poppy outlines and the added the With Sympathy  sentiment in black versafine ink .

For the Half Sheet Poppies and the With Sympathy and many other great rubber stamp images go to the I Brake for Stamps on-line store ,Happy shopping my creative friends …

I Brake for Sympathetic Poppies

Hello and happy Saturday!

I needed a sympathy card last week.  My husband's brother's best friend's dad passed away and my brother-in-law came to stay with us from Hilton Head for the week.  This is the card that I sent with my husband to the funeral.  I had looked up the meaning of poppies and found that they are an expression of sympathy in many countries.

I used an image and two verses from I Brake for Stamps on my card.

I decided to do an open window card so that you could see the verse and part of the inside from the front.

Aren't poppies pretty?
I currently own 5 poppy stamps from IBFS and I plan on adding more to my collection.

Here's the inside of the card with the parts you can't see through the window.

Sunflower sympathy

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a sympathy card that was a special request from my husband.  About 7 yrs. ago he started traveling to Canada on business.  He made friends with a man who subcontracts with his company and whenever he goes up there they golf or go to dinner.  Unfortunately,  after a 7 yr. battle with brain cancer this man's wife passed away.  She was only 42.

Her favorite flower was the sunflower and her favorite colors were pink and aqua.  I was lucky enough to have a paper pad that was FULL of sunflower themed papers and many of them in this pretty aqua shade.  I also believe everything happens for a reason.  Last month when I placed my I Brake For Stamps order I chose almost exclusively flowers.  This LARGE SUNFLOWER was in my order.

I paired the flower with the verse WITH SYMPATHY.

Though my husband will tell people I'm a talented cardmaker he almost never comments on any card I make.  He told me at least 3 times how pretty and perfect this card would be for his friend.  I hope so.  I've met him and he's a wonderful person.  I can't believe he's going through this at only 40 yrs. old.

I Brake For Beautiful Flowers!

Hello everyone!
Today I'm sharing a pair of cards that I made.  They're very similar but one is for a birthday and one is a sympathy card.  I had two customers ask me for a birthday/sympathy card and since my time was limited when they asked I made "duplicates" and just changed them to suit the occasion.

The image I used is called Floral Silhouette Bouquet I Brake For Stamps has tons of gorgeous floral images.  Here is the sympathy card.  I stamped the image twice on printed paper.

Here is the inside of the sympathy card with the beautiful IBFS verse called With Sympathy.

Here is the very similar birthday card.

On the front I used the verse Sending Smiles and on the inside I used Best Wishes Birthday.

I Brake For Dogwood Blossoms

My sister and my mom's boyfriend both requested a sympathy card recently so I'm starting to rebuild my supply.  For this card I used 3 different stamps from I Brake For Stamps.

For the front of the card I masked off a portion of the Memories Comfort stamp.

I stamped the flowers twice and cut some of them out to give it a 3-D look.

Here's the inside.
