The Fight Before Christmas

The Katy Perry segment is strong & full of cheer, but jokes of Reindeer soup and a tear heavy WW2 story is a real downer. Not enough cheer for a sentimental show like the Simpsons.

The Fight Before Christmas is a really good modern Simpsons episode. I usually don't like this type of episodes, but this is an exception. Lots of these types of episodes, this non treehouse of horror parody stories, are usually okay, meh episodes. This, even thought it follows that formula, it's a great episode. This episode is more like a Treehouse of Horror and less like The Wettest Story Ever Told, or Tales From The Public Domain, or The Simpsons Christmas Tales. This episode, unlike most episodes with its formula, has 4 short stories.

The first segment is a parody of the Polar Express, and I like it. It was a funny segment, and it was enjoyable enough. This is my second favorite segment, and I give it a 7.3.

The next segment is, I think, is a parody of Glorious B-word. The only good part about it was the action scene at the end, but that gets me most of the score. In all, this is my second worst segment and I give it a 6.2.

Next is the segment where some woman comes over and Christmasfizes the house. This is my least favorite segment and this gets a 5.6.

Next is my favorite segment " The Fluppets Christmas Special " . This is a really good segment. It is really funny, and it has it's first and only live action cameo with Katy Perry. I give this a 9.2.

In all I give this episode a 8.1 out of 10.

Back to Simpsons' trade mark story telling - parody with a twist of reflection of dark side of current events This episodes brings u 4 xmas pardoy stories - each with its own twist. It's like Simpsons Halloween specials with Xmas spirits minus the blood & violence.

Sarcastic, hilarious, pg-13, and yet brings laughter & xmas spirits to all of us.For those who r disappointed with last few episodes, this one won't disappoint u.

Got a feeling that it's time for Fox & the Simpsons production team to deal with contract, $, ... etc. Remember a few episodes back with the opening of china slave camp working in a giant Fox stone castle? In this episode, one of the character says something like "oh well if it's the last season it's a good run".

I know they say that once a while (dunno Y), but if simpsons producers/writers get too frustrated with Fox - just move to another channel like Futurama did. Don't let those bast@rds have it.

So I'm an old school fan of The Simpson's. I've honestly been hesitant towards watching anything past season 10 for all these years. But something shifted in me during Covid 19, and I've gradually been making my way through the newer seasons. I can genuinely say I love these later seasons. I don't see them as replacements for the original seasons which I love dearly, I don't think they're even trying to be like them. I think they are naturally changing as does anything over time. But yeah, I really am enjoying these newer seasons, I say give them a chance. This episode in particular is really wonderful, and I love the pop culture and historical references. I'm definitely going to watch this again when it's Christmas time! I hope you will enjoy it too :)

Although "The Fool Monty" from this same season is pretty darn awful, I have to say that this very episode I'm reviewing right now takes the first spot. I had to stop watching this - I could not make it through. That's how idiotically bad this is. Propaganda plus inconsistent tripe served to you as stories. This makes no sense and has no other meaning than jamming cr@p down your neck.
