August 2025 hobby update

Image
And that was August.  Mercifully it wasn't too hot which made getting on with things a bit easier.  I'm still whittling away at all the bits that have been sitting around for too long.  I’m pleased to say I'm getting my hobby mojo back which has been on the wane for a lot of the summer.  It’s good timing as Autumn and Winter are the time for hobbies aren't they.      Completed  Here's the bits I finished off during August: First off I based the 20mm Battlezone Miniatures Second World War German gun crew that'd I'd painted and varnished last month.  I had thought of basing them as a team with a gun, but as I have another gun crew (in summer uniforms) and only one Pak 40 I based them individually for versatility.  It also saves buying another Pak!   These were the only miniatures I finished but I did do a bit more on the terrain front: I made a corner piece for the game of Ravenfeast that I played.  This was a quick and dirty job...

Round 1 Round 1 starting positions Senior Sergeant Orlov uses his Tactician trait to win the Initiative Phase, and he sends Private Rebrov to search the BTR.  During the rest of the turn the Federals and th...

Real life certainly intervened in July.  The day before we were due to go on holiday we were woken with a family emergency and we lost the first few days of our holiday. This was a real shame and cast a bit of a shadow over what would have been a lovely break.  To cap it all I returned from holiday with a stinking cold which wiped me out for a few days.   All month I've been swinging between being quite motivated and having little interest in hobbying. However, in the later days of July, I made myself get on with some of the old shite that's been sitting about.  This has not only cleared up my table but also my mind.  Working on these simple pieces has given me some quick wins, helping to restore my motivation.  As I wrote this up and listed what I've cleared this month (especially bearing what's happened), I'm feeling quite satisfied.   Completed  Prior to all the drama and our holiday, I did manage to complete the few figures that were in p...
