Auditive Escape (alias Jean Patier). It is the right choice for a relax night after a hard day. This French electronic, dub, trip hop "ensemble" is an interesting one. A lot of work self produced like this Evolo (2012). This Trip-Ambent-Hop is really not bad.

MASSIVE ATTACK - Milan July 23, 2016
Two Years ago I was very impressed by Massive Attack performance. Now nothing (or few things) are changed. One hour delay waiting from the planned start time, the same drumming and rhytmic power ( I can define it " disruptive", the sound (always perfect), the light show (hypnotizing).
So what's new: some new songs from " ritual spirit" with a new voice (I was not so excited by his voice).
What is missed: Martina Topley Bird voice and "Teardrop".
Massive Attacck = Unmissable anyway

THEODOR BASTARD - Live in Dobrolet Studio 2013
Theodor Bastard is an interesting group from Russia (S. Pietroburgo). It is not easy to catalog their music into a fix scheme mainly because it' s a mixture of different styles, cultures and ethnics. You can have a little bit of "Radiohead" with "Folk like McKennit" And "Trip-Hop atmospheres". The girl voice is really addictive and emotional and sound refined. I Like !!
The studio live is extracted from an Youtube video. Attached is the mp3 and the link the video itself.

MORCHEEBA - Blood like lemonade (2010)
I'm playing "blood like lemonade" very often in this period and really I like it.
I consider this work a very complete one. A lot of influences here but at the end a good balance of different styles. I try the listening of other works of Morcheeba but this remain my favourite one.

LAMB - Milan, Magazzini Generali - November 19, 2014
Really a strange couple form the LAMB. The folksinger Lou Rhodes and the techno composer and producer Andy Barlow. Two extreme in the music world and also two completely different appearance on the stage; Lou is ethereal in her white long traditional dress and Andy that seems just coming from a rave party.
It is like to have “Chemical Brothers” and “Loreena McKennit” together on the same stage. Difficult to image but incredible is the result.
LAMB combines these two extreme and melt together obtaining a very nice result . Techno, Trip hop, rock? Difficult to classify. Some song are similar to Portishead, some other to techno-disco (Andy help to move the stage in this direction!!).
At the end it was a good live act. Unexpected and for this more appreciate. Today I am playing “Backspace Unwind “(just released) again and again….

PORTISHEAD - Sour Times (1994)
Thinking about Trip Hop the first name I have in my mind is for sure "Massive Attack"; the second is "Bristol" and the third is "Portishead".
You can also change the order of the three words but the result is the same: an equilater triangle with wonderful music inside.
Portishead music can be considered the essence of Trip Hop music with slow and intriguing rythms like in this sour times.
If you have not seen I suggest the Roseland live video (1998)...music not only to listen but also to see.

MASSIVE ATTACK - Milan June 25, 2014
Massive Attack at Milan. An important appointment not to loose. And it was a great night.
The wait was long (1 hour from the planned 21:00) but the dark of the night help a lot to create the right atmosphere in line with the light show. I was not disappointed, all my expectations were satisfied, Martina Topley Bird voice helped to elevate the level. Music and Rythms really powerfull.
Difficult to forget!!!!

DJ KRUSH - Krush (1994)
This is the first solo work of DJ Krush. The Japanese dj and producer is one of the most important names in the Trip Hop scene. A good compromise between the heavy hi pop experience and ambient, cool and electronic music. Result is something that I like and consider an "elegant".
fruit of '90 period.

TRACEY THORN - Love & the opposites
TRACEY THORN name will be forever linked to EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL experience. Anyway she also provided some other experiences and collaboration (Massive Attack, Style Council are the famous ones) and some work with her name. This is a 2010 work and appear as an intimate and sometime melancholy ones. The great voice of Tracey is anyway enough to appreciate the work as it is.

SOUL II SOUL - Jazzie's Groove
Acid Jazz? Funky Jazz? Trip-Hop how to archives this ? This is not a problem. You can call as you prefer but the essence is the same. This is the music of 90's (of course this is my opinion). After the post-punk, after the new wave period, here we are!! Just relax yourself, take your time, dance if you want and enjoy...... your life.
