As you may have heard, Mike from Trouble at T'Mill just had his 50th birthday. (Congrats Mike) Being the generous soul that he is, he has decided to go ahead and do yet another giveaway. I wish I played Bolt Action so that I'd be eligible for that, but I am intrigued by Too Fat Lardies rules and would love a chance to win some.
So go enter the prize draw here.
And just to prove what a generous guy Mike is, here is what I won from him in his previous giveaway.
Some very cool Conquest Normans and a book set in the battle between Maude and Stephen to succeed King Henry. Sounds like there might be some good scenarios in there.
Welcome to Kev from Kev's Wargame Cabin not only a great painter but one of the gents behind Bloggers for Charity. Definitely follow these two blogs if you don't already.
I fear I am suffering from blog post build up, or blue blog if you will, so I will try to load some stuff in the schedule post thing. It's just my ADD as I buy more stuff and start new projects, forgetting to show you something else that I was think of the other day. Well you know how it is.
On a personal note, I've signed myself up for another 90 Day challenge at the gym. The goal is the same, get down to 10% body fat. I'm not sure if I mentioned it here, but I tried to do it last spring and somehow strained my abdominal muscles so bad I could hardly walk and had to be on restricted exercise for over two months. Fingers crossed I can get it. My runs are going along better than I'd hoped, 7'30" avg pace/mile for a 3 mile run, and I'm at about 15% body fat right now. The trick is eating right to get enough calories to be able to exercise while still losing fat. I tend to go anaerobic a lot and just burn carbohydrate.

Rum winner is...
Asslessman from Leadplague.
Thanks to all who entered. Asslessman, please email me your particulars. You can find it in my contact info. I have decided on a color scheme for the birds of prey. I'm thinking of going Wrath of Khan green with a bit of brown/ rust to pick out details.
Sorry I have to rush off now. Had some weird connectivity issues from last night into this morning and it's put me behind schedule.

2nd Bloggiversary Giveaway
Well, next week is the 2nd anniversary of the blog so I thought I'd give away a copy of THW's And a Bottle of Rum.
This is a game of swash buckling pirate adventures on the Spanish main.
Rules of the giveaway:
1.) Be a follower of the blog.
2.) Leave a comment as an entry to the draw.
3.) If you pimp this post and leave a link here (so I can check it) I'll give you a second entry.
4.) I will post the winner on the morning of Friday June 28th (my time).
Another point about this giveaway is this is one of the first that I've done where I actually bought the rules first myself. I mainly got this title because I liked what I saw in terms of ship battles and thought it was something I could use for my 18th century Imagi-nation project.
I will endeavor to read these and give you guys a mini review. That way I can digest it in chunks and maybe get some games in as well.
So don't be shy, come get yer hands on some pirate booty!

What I won from Doug.
So here are a few shots of what I won from Doug's giveaway on Doug's Land of the Dead.
So under the terms of the giveaway I won $10 worth of miniatures. After much agonizing I couldn't resist some faux Klingon vessels. Doug was really cool and threw in the flight stands, fighters and plastic ships. Should help me get up and running with some space battles soon.
And yes. There is a lot languishing on the desk, thank you very much. More painting, less talking.
Two Studio Bergstrom Sing-On Praetor Pocket Destroyers
Six Irregular DY06 Generic Standard Attack Fighter
Twelve dime store plastic ships that will be fun to paint up.

I'm a winner! (Not to be confused with Weiner)
I won the prize over at Doug's Land of the Dead and will receive $10 worth of figures of my choice and get to have something from his Sci-Fi campaign at Starbase Alpha Romeo Charlie, named after me. Pretty sweet.
Hopefully my luck will hold for some of the other giveaways going on at the moment.
Here is the Weiner reference. For those of you who don't know, he's the guy who resigned from congress after texting pictures of his johnson to some chick. The Post is a worthless rag, and I never read it when I lived in NYC, but they always had the best headlines.
And welcome to two new followers:
Matthew Raevis I don't see a blog listed in your friend connect.
James Brewerton of Exiles Wargames Painters, who is having a pretty nice giveaway of his own. He also has two other blogs, Akrotiri Nomads Wargames and The Wonderful World of Mackie and Toddy.
Off to figure out why I didn't see the most recent of Doug's posts.

Winner of the 40K-ish views giveaway
There were five entrants into the giveaway. I used the list randomizer from Random.org here.
In order the contestants were:
Maverick Collecting
Anne
Kaptain Kobold
Tim
Uncle Brian
I input them into the randomizer:
and hit the Randomize button:
So Anne is our lucky winner!
Ironically it one of my rarer moments of fastidiousness I threw out the packaging from the prize you sent me. So you'll have to contact me with your info. Sorry.
Thanks to everyone who entered and hopefully I'll have something grander, or at least with a wider appeal for the next one.
Welcome new followers:
Dreamfish. You have no blogs in your links, but by your comment I'm guessing you write Realms of Miniatures and are the creator of the Modular Gaming Table.
Jonas M from Conflict of Interests a great blog with beautiful figures and scenery and interesting battle reports of the competing side for the ones by Dalauppror.
Maverick Collecting has three blogs. Small Scale World, Airfix Figure List, and Old Soldiers Never Die...They Just Trade Away. Good resources for IDing and trading figures.

40K-ish views giveaway
Hi All,
For some reason I've been having a hobby block of late which has manifested in not posting as frequently as I'd like. I've noticed that I get a large spike around the days that I post which dries up to my lull amount of hits after about 2 - 3 days. Don't get me wrong, my lull hits are higher than I could have imagined at the start, but I've raised my expectations.
On to the giveaway:
I am in possession of some 1/72 Western figures from BUM that I will never use. Frankly I paid too much for models that I don't like and I'd rather give them to a loving home than try to kid myself that I am happy with them. The main problem with these sets is that there are zero real reviews of them. They fill a niche that is under represented, but they don't really fit the bill.
So as you can see I have one each of sets 0104 and 0105 and two sets of 0101. As you can see I paid about $10 per box but I recall paying almost as much on shipping, not reading ebay carefully bites me every time.
Here are the contents of the boxes.
For me everything is just too small. 21 - 22 mm to the top of the head for the figures is just way too small for me. Especially when the IMEX figures I'm using are at the other end at 25 - 26mm. The buildings seem undersized even for the small figures. To me they seem more like 1/87 scale. I'm no expert but some of the figures are taller than the doors of the buildings. To me that is no bueno.
So as you can see I was really disappointed. A missed opportunity here by BUM.
That being said I think that there are those of you out there that won't be put off and will do a great job of painting or using these sets.
So for 1/72 aficionados I will hold a prize draw for these.
It would be nice if you were a follower of the blog, but just leave a comment that you are interested and I'll put your name into a hat. I'll give it until Tuesday morning my time and then select a winner. Then I'll post the lot off to you.
I'm not sure whether to cross post this on benno's as I feel like a lurker there rather than a full member. But if you are a member there and think that the forum members might like to know you can tell me that as well.
Have a great weekend.

Happy Birthday Loki (and other news)
In order to shamelessly get an additional 5 entries in the giveaway I am posting a link to his giveaway here.
I also received my prize from Anne's giveaway, The Zvezda Ashigaru-Yari (PSR link here).
I'll also be doing a giveaway soon, as I have already passed 40k views and want to share the wealth as it were.
This giveaway is very specific and may not be to everyone's taste. I'm hoping to find a good home for these. But more on that at another time.
I also hope to get my act together for getting on with the Chronicles of Loa. My injury and rehab have been leaving me feeling kind of wore out most days and I'm just not up for much.
In the realm of techno geekery I hope to give some more tips/ self rationalizations for dynamic templates and perhaps wax poetic about my latest trials and tribulations with Microsoft.
For those of you paying attention, Ray Villa was the winner of the poll for "Approved Blog Whore". There were more voting irregularities than Tammany Hall. We started with four votes and a 50 - 50 split, that went to 3 votes for Villa and finally down to 2 by poll close. It was all just for fun anyway. Ray's choice as to whether or not he even chooses to bestow the honor. Of course you could just steal the image from here and award it to yourself.
Welcome to Andrew Saunders of Loki's Great Hall, probably the fastest link back I've ever had. I haven't even finished writing this post. Another talented painter who competed in the Anologue Hobbies painting challenge. N. American Indians are some of the most recent posts but I also saw some Saga tournament stuff that looked fun.

Just blog pimpin'
Hi all I've been on a short vacation and didn't have too much time for blogging, but I did manage to keep up with reading what's going on.
If you've somehow missed it head on over to:
The blog with no name
28mm Victorian Warfare
Anne's Attic
To get in on some good prize draws.
Also the term blog whore is getting bandied about and it's sparked another idea. Something to do with photo manipulation and hats.
Good luck in the prize draws, but not too much as I'm entered as well.

10K Views prize winner is..
Ray of Don't Throw a One. I just need to work out how to get them to send you the PDF as well as the printed version.
Bill won the second prize, a map to his specifications.
Thanks to all who entered and became new followers of the blog as a consequence. Now I have a glimpse of what it must be like to be Ray and Fran.
Viewed by many, followed by some, loved by all!
I'll be emailing the Lucky winners and will get things sorted out.
Cheers.

Dux Homunculorum prize giveaway.
For those of you who may not know, Dux Homunculorum is giving away a very finely painted 28mm mini of Harald Hardrada here.
I don't play Saga myself, nor have I gamed 28mm of late, but who wouldn't want an awesomely painted figure of the man who was almost King of England instead of William the Conqueror.
Just the usual requirements. Follow his blog and leave a comment to enter your name in the drawing.
Good luck. (I realize that this lessens my chances of winning, but he has a great site and you owe it to yourself to check it out.)

Winner of the 100th Post Prize
Drum roll please:
Congratulations Fran of The Angry Lurker, I'll be contacting you and we can work out what you'd like done.
As you can see we used the scientific method of writing down the names on a strip of paper and putting them in a cup for a completely disinterested party to withdraw. Fortunately Darth Maul was available and only required one potty break during the photo shoot. Although it was difficult to pry him away from cartoons on the last day before school starts here.
To the rest, better luck next time and we'll hope to have another contest soon.
Darth Maul got a little testy when I had to change batteries.
