Imperial Armour: Apocalypse is the ultimate reference for using Forge World's extensive range of tanks, aircraft, fortifications and gargantuan creatures in cataclysmic games of Warhammer 40,000: Apocalypse. Contained within this tome are over 75 updated unit profiles, ready to be added to armies for both Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer 40,000: Apocalypse, as well as 16 Warhammer 40,000: Apocalypse Formations, and additional rules and options for the immense Tyranid Hierophant Bio-Titan. Also included is an entire new War Zone for use with the Warhammer 40,000 rules, War Zone: Vraks. Charting the course of the bloody wars that followed the apostate Cardinal Xaphan's conquest of the Imperial fortress world of Vraks, this war zone includes three full Apocalypse missions, as well as character profiles and Finest Hours for the war's key participants, and Strategic Assets and Unnatural Disasters unique to the Vraks conflict.

Forge World Newsletter #352 - SoH Reaver Squad and Despoiler Squads

As always all the important bits below:

=========================================

Horus Heresy

Hi there,
Up for pre-order this week we have Mk II, Mk III and Mk IV Despoiler squads, and a unique Sons of Horus unit in the form of the Reaver Attack Squad. As well as this, we also have some exciting news regarding this weekend’s Games Day North America.

Sons of Horus Reaver Attack Squad
Sons of Horus Reaver Attack Squad
Reaver squads in many ways epitomised the Sons of Horus Legion’s way of war. Heavily influenced by the tactics used in the incessant tribal warfare of Cthonia, Reaver units specialised in lightning-swift assaults which maimed and disabled their foes; striking down leaders, and mercilessly cutting down any who were weak or isolated. Each Reaver unit, whether squad or entire company in strength, was effectively a warband in its own right, and its warriors fought more as individuals than regimented soldiers, and all were utterly lethal against the enemies of Mankind during the Great Crusade.
The Sons of Horus Reaver Attack Squad, designed by Alfonso Giraldes, is a multi-part resin kit containing five incredibly detailed Space Marines, five bolt pistols, five chain axes, a power fist, a hand flamer, five helmeted heads and one Sergeant head. This kit is available to pre-order now for despatch from Friday 2nd August.
Rules for the Sons of Horus Reaver Attack Squad will be found in our forthcoming Horus Heresy book.
Legion Despoiler Squads
Legion Despoiler Squads
If fighting is expected to be at close quarters, such as in boarding actions or trench clearance, Tactical squads can sometimes forgo the standard bolter in favour of the combination of a bolt pistol and chainsword, allowing the Astartes more manoeuvrability in whatever tight confines they may find themselves in. These more assault orientated units are referred to as Despoiler Squads within the Legiones Astartes.

The Mk II, Mk III and Mk IV Despoiler Squads, designed by Will Hayes, are complete multi-part resin kits comprising five Space Marines armed with bolt pistols and chainswords. All three kits are available to pre-order now for despatch from Friday 2nd August.

Forge World Newsletter #346 - Legion Praetors and Luna Wolves Brass and Transfers

As always all the important bits below:

=========================================

Horus Heresy

Hi there, We return to the Horus Heresy in today’s newsletter with the release of a fantastic Space Marine character set and new sets of Legion etched brass symbols and decals, all available to order now for immediate despatch.
Legion Praetors in Power Armour and Terminator Armour
Praetors are the mightiest warriors and battle-leaders of the Legiones Astartes, second only to the godlike Primarchs in their martial skill and generalship. Each is a vastly experienced warrior and warlord, unique in character, who has writ a legend for themselves in blood and slaughter.

These lords of the Imperium possess a panoply of the finest weapons and armour known to humanity and hold the power of life and death over worlds, with direct control over entire war fleets and great armies. In their ranks can be found Chapter Masters and Lord Commanders, Khans, Tribunes and First Captains as the traditions of the Legions dictate; regardless of title each is a master of war, and each has conquered worlds unnumbered in the glory of the Great Crusade.
The Legion Praetors set contains two incredibly detailed multi-part resin models, designed by Edgar Skomorowski. One Praetor is clad in artificer-modified Cataphractii armour, armed with an ornate paragon blade power sword and a Volkite Charger, while the other wears ornate artificer-modified MkIII ‘Iron’ armour and carries a fantastically-detailed archaeotech pistol, as well as a mighty paragon blade power sword. These two characters are fully compatible with Forge World’s Terminator and MkIV weapon sets, allowing for a great variety of wargear options. This character set is available to order now for immediate despatch.
Luna Wolves Legion Decals and Etched Brass
Designed by Paul Rudge and packed with Legion-specific heraldry, blazons and squad insignia, these new sheets of Luna Wolves Legion Transfers and Etched Brass symbols contain a variety of differently sized symbols for use with our vehicles and infantry kits. These symbols and decals are available to order now for immediate despatch.

again another great newsletter where HH fans are not disappointed. I love the Praetor models and see a strong resemblance between the Powered Armour version and the artwork we have seen of Garro. Just glad they decided to call it a Praetor and not release it as Garro and charge us £30 for just the one model.

Forge World Newsflash - Praetor Sneak Peek and Weekender Details

As always all the important bits below:

=========================================

Horus Heresy
 Hi there, As you read this, we’ll be busy transforming the Nottingham Belfry Hotel into a Horus Heresy sanctum. In the meantime, we’ve got a few snippets to reveal in today’s newsflash about the event, as well as news of a Horus Heresy gaming weekend which will be held at Warhammer World later this year.

The Ultimate Horus Heresy Getaway is Almost Upon Us
This weekend, Forge World, Black Library and hundreds of Horus Heresy fans will descend upon the Nottingham Belfry Hotel for the Horus Heresy Weekender.

Please note that all tickets for this event have now sold out.
Not only will the new Event Only Davinite Serpent Lodge Priest model be available for the first time, but Weekender attendees will also have the first opportunity in the world to buy our second incredible Primarch miniature. This is the third of our collectable Horus Heresy Character Series: Simon Egan’s incredible Fulgrim the Illuminator, Primarch of the Emperor’s Children Legion.
We also expect to have small numbers of Edgar Skomorowski’s detailed Praetor Set (pictured left), and Stuart Williamson’s imposing Legion Glaive Super-Heavy Tank on sale at the event.

Around the venue, you’ll also see twenty fantastic Legion art prints, such as the one pictured left. These 200cm x 80cm prints have been exclusively produced for the Weekender, all eighteen Legions are represented (some more than once) and each is available to buy (stand not included).

We’ve also got some more fantastic event only items up our sleeves, including Loyalist and Traitor Legion posters, four different designs of Horus Heresy t-shirts and if that weren’t enough, every attendee will receive an exclusive Weekender backpack.
With seminars, Q&A’s, art showcases, signings, modelling and painting demos, open gaming and participation games, there’s almost too much to do on each day – not to mention the Horus Heresy Pub Quiz and the Zone Mortalis Last Man Standing challenge on Saturday evening.
We’re also excited to announce that Alan Bligh will be hosting an exclusive Author Death Match in the Practice Cages on Saturday afternoon, when Black Library’s John French and Aaron Dembski-Bowden take to the field of battle to play the exclusive scenario you’ll find in your programme. This is a face-off that’s not to be missed!

Horus Heresy Weekender Reservation Orders
If you’ve placed a reservation order for the Horus Heresy Weekender, you’ll now have received your confirmation e-mail. You must bring a copy of this with you to collect your order, as it is your proof of payment. Reservation orders will be available for collection from the Sales stand after 12:00 on Saturday, and we look forward to seeing you there.
Warhammer World Horus Heresy Betrayal Gaming Weekend – 24th-25th August
This weekend is quite unlike any other, where for the first time you can bring legendary heroes like Garviel Loken or even Primarchs such as Horus the Warmaster to battle. You will experience the opening parts of Horus’ ambitions to overthrow the Emperor and set the galaxy ablaze.
Over the weekend, you’ll play four games recreating the exciting and tense battles covered in Forge World’s The Horus Heresy Book One - Betrayal. You will use the Legiones Astartes army list and appendices, allowing you to field exotic weaponry, titanic war machines and unyielding Primarchs across three games on Saturday and Sunday, culminating in a massive Doubles game on Sunday afternoon. Your ticket includes lunch on both days, plus an evening meal on the Saturday, followed by a Heresy-themed quiz.
Also on the Saturday, Black Library will be joining us to showcase their millions-selling Horus Heresy books. We can also announce that on the Sunday, the author of Betrayal, Alan Bligh will be in attendance, giving you the opportunity to have your Horus Heresy tomes signed and talk about the finer points of the book.
So, Legionary, will you fight for the Emperor of Mankind or the Warmaster Horus? Tickets are available now.
Thanks,
Ead Brown

Forge World Newsletter #338 - Necron Emplacements, Fulgrim Model and Davinite lodge priest

As always all the important bits below:

=========================================
Hi there, This week we turn our attention back to the Necrons of the sinister Maynarkh Dynasty, with two more fantastic new kits available to pre-order now. We’ve also got some exciting events news, concerning the Horus Heresy Weekender.
Necron Sentry Pylons
The stasis-tombs of the Necrons are vast and shadowy edifices, and many an Imperial Explorator expedition has made planetfall on a dead world only to vanish without trace; slain at the hands of the unliving guardian-constructs that watch over their slumbering masters.
Among these defences are automated weapons platforms of strange design known as Pylons. Some of these are huge, cyclopean constructs, but Imperial logisticians have codified smaller, tactical variants as Sentry Pylons. These powerful devices are arcs of glittering metal equipped with a weapons array that can strike with power so great as to be almost beyond comprehension. Some are outfitted with Heat Cannons; thermal energy weapons of extraordinary power, others bear Focussed Death Rays, which emit coruscating beams of force that can slice through ranks of infantry and armoured war machines with contemptuous ease.
Stuart Williamson has designed two more Sentry Pylons, armed with a Heat Cannon and a Focussed Death Ray respectively. Each is a multi-part resin kit that stands almost 6" (150mm) tall, and these two Sentry Pylons are available to pre-order now for despatch from Friday 10th May. The Sentry Pylon’s cruciform arc profile is packed with detail, making each a fantastic painting project as well as a potent battlefield unit. These two new options can be fielded in artillery units alongside the Sentry Pylon with Gauss Exterminator. Full rules for all our new Necron kits can be found in Imperial Armour Volume Twelve – The Fall of Orpheus.

Horus Heresy Weekender 2013 Exclusives and Pre-releases Unveiled

As you may have seen in a newsletter earlier this week, we’ve unveiled two of the exciting releases that we’ll have available at the Forge World and Black Library Horus Heresy Weekender. If you missed it, here’s a couple more pictures:

Fulgrim the Illuminator, Primarch of the Emperor’s Children
The second Primarch to receive a jaw-dropping model and the third of Forge World’s Horus Heresy Character Series is Fulgrim. Simon Egan’s incredible miniature depicts the Master of the Emperor’s Children in the thick of furious combat, and Weekender attendees will be the first in the world to get their hands on him.
Fulgrim the Illuminator Primarch of the Emperor's Children
Event Only Davinite Lodge Priest
A third addition to our range of 2013 Event Only models is Mark Bedford’s Davinite Serpent Lodge Priest. This detailed miniature will be available for the first time at the Horus Heresy Weekender.

Horus Heresy Weekender Reservation Orders
If you’ve got your tickets for the Horus Heresy Weekender (and there's not many left if you haven’t), we are still accepting reservation orders for this event. This is the best way to ensure we have the exact product you want, packed up and waiting for you at the show. Our sales stand will primarily be carrying the Forge World Horus Heresy range of miniatures and books, but you can reserve any Forge World or Warhammer Forge models that you wish.
As with all our UK shows, Horus Heresy Weekender reservation orders are pre-paid to make the collection process quicker and easier, leaving you with more time to enjoy the rest of the event.
Please telephone the Customer Service team on 0115 900 4995 to place a reservation order. We will require your name, a contact telephone number and e-mail address, along with the list of products you wish to reserve, and you will also need your card details to hand too. We’ll process the payment while you are on the phone, and in the week before the event you’ll receive a confirmation e-mail containing your order number. This is your proof of payment and you must bring this e-mail with you to claim your order. We must receive Horus Heresy Weekender reservations by Monday 13th May

Forge World Newsletter #338 - Mechanicum Thallax Cohort, Legion Recon Squad and Breacher Siege Squad

As always all the important bits below:

=========================================
Hi there, With a little over a week until the now sold out Forge World Open Day, today’s newsletter announces two new Legion squads and the eagerly anticipated Mechanicum Thallax Cohort available to pre-order now – we also aim to have all three of these kits available at the Open Day.

Mechanicum Thallax Cohort
The Thallaxii are heavily augmented cyborg shock-troops used by the Mechanicum Ordo Reductor, and they differ from the Skitarii regiments both in purpose and the unique degree of their augmetics. The Lorica Thallax, from which their name derives, was developed from power armour technology, and requires a robust human specimen to enable it to function to its maximum potential. Once integrated, it encloses its bearer’s major organs, nervous system and cerebrum, but entirely replaces their skeletal structure and limbs with armoured bionics powered by an internal reactor core.

Surgical excision of the subject’s pain sensors, emotions and normal human sensory apparatus, and the agony of the Lorica’s implantation, leaves the Thallax a cold, calculating killing machine, albeit one that retains a degree of independent thought. To some among the Mechanicum, this skirts the edge of abomination, yet the baleful Ordo Reductor continue Thallax conversion with suitable Forge Guard, fallen Skitarii, and subjects obtained from more mysterious sources.

The Ordo Reductor deploy these hulking war-robots both in their own forces and alongside the Legiones Astartes. Such long standing arrangements often result in the Thallaxii adopting the heraldry and iconography of their allies.

Designed by Will Hayes, the Mechanicum Thallax Cohort contains three multi-part resin models. These imposing and sinister models are a unique and exciting new development within our Horus Heresy range, being the very first Mechanicum unit to be designed, and their hunched profile, blank-faced helms and bulky armour are packed with detail.

Legion Reconnaissance Squad
Space Marines experienced in operating independently and behind enemy lines form dedicated Reconnaissance squads within the Legiones Astartes, acting as the eyes and ears of the main force. Equipped with a variety of specialised wargear including long-range sniper weapons, stealth gear and augmented sensor-auspex devices, the Legion Recon Squad function as scouts, gathering intelligence and mapping enemy movements and strengths.

Reconnaissance squads also serve their Legion as pickets, saboteurs, raiders and snipers where needed, striking at high value targets of opportunity. In open battle, they are expert in sudden flanking manoeuvres, and infiltration attacks in support of the main strength of the Legion.

Designed by Mark Bedford and Will Hayes, the Legion MkIV Recon Squad contains five multi-part resin models, each of which has two different weapon options: a sniper rifle or a shotgun. These models are packed with detail, from the long-range communications and targeting equipment carried by each of them to their camo demi-cloaks.

Legion MkIII Breacher Siege Squad Combat that takes place during boarding actions amid the cold void or into a breached fortification, can prove lethal beyond even the endurance of the Legiones Astartes. For this reason, since the earliest days of the Great Crusade, specialised formations and wargear have been continually developed to better survive these ‘Zones Mortalis’.

The Legion MkIII Breacher Siege Squad is one such unit; clad in augmented power armour based on the Iron pattern and bearing great ablative shields. These squads act as a vanguard in such lethal missions, and are often additionally equipped with powerful breaching charges and lascutters or melta weapons, to destroy strongpoints and forge a path for the force’s main strength to follow.

Designed by Will Hayes, the Legion Breacher Siege Squad contains five multi-part resin models in modified MkIII ‘Iron’ armour, equipped with detailed boarding shields. The squad also includes five Phobos pattern bolters, as well as an optional lascutter, breaching charge and graviton gun.

Rules for all three of these units can be found in The Horus Heresy Book One: Betrayal. They are available to pre-order now for despatch from Friday 5th April, and we hope to have the Thallax Cohort, Recon Squad and Breacher Siege Squad on sale at the Forge World Open Day in limited numbers.

MkIV Outrider Squad Pricing Error
The Legion MkIV Outrider Squad should be £45, rather than £60 as originally advertised; apologies for any inconvenience caused by this error. If you have ordered one of these kits at the incorrect price, a refund has been processed for you covering the difference in price and any relevant shipping cost, and you will have been notified of this by e-mail.

=========================================

nice to see a unit painted in the colours of the night lords, a legion that doesnt get enough HH love when it comes to models. As for the mech units, i think ive found my combat servitors for my Inquisitor :)

Forge World Newsletter #337 - Heresy Outrider (biker) squadron and Weapons Upgrades

As always all the important bits below:
=========================================

Hi there, We return to the Horus Heresy in today’s newsletter as this week’s pre-order kits include both a new bike squadron and four new support weapon sets, as well as a new scenery bundle. We’ve also got a reminder of the events we’ll be attending in the next few months – all of which we’re now accepting reservation orders for. Read on for more!

Legion MkIV Outrider Squadron
Outrider squadrons are mechanised Space Marine reconnaissance squads who take to the field of battle mounted on ruggedly-constructed ground bikes. Equipped with twin-linked bolters, often augmented with heavier firepower in the form of melta-guns, flamers or plasma guns, Outriders are used for rapid encirclement as well as hit-and-run attacks against targets of opportunity behind enemy lines. Their chief advantage is speed and mobility, their bikes enabling them to cover ground far faster than infantry, and to go where heavier vehicles cannot.

Designed by Phil Stutcinskas, the Legion MkIV Outrider Squadron contains three complete resin and plastic kits, allowing this potent Fast Attack option to be added to a Space Marine Legion force or fielded as a Bike Squadron in many Codex armies. Each model has two weapon options: twin-linked bolters, or plasma guns and they are fully customisable with our range of Space Marine and Legion accessories. Full rules for the Legion Outrider Squad can be found in The Horus Heresy Book One: Betrayal.

Legion Support Weapon Sets
The Legiones Astartes are well equipped with the finest weapons that can be produced by the manufactoria of Mars – from energy weapons of arcane provenance to rotor cannons of comparatively recent design. The Legions concentrate these specialised weapons into Tactical Support Squads, allowing overwhelming firepower to be brought to bear against any enemy target.

Will Hayes has designed four new sets of detailed resin weapons. The Flamer Set, Melta Gun Set and Plasma Gun Set each contain ten weapons, while the Rotor Cannon Set contains five resin weapons, ammunition feeds and hoppers. To build a Legion Tactical Support Squad, using the rules in Betrayal, combine these weapon sets with our MkII, MkIII or MkIV Space Marine armour sets or MkII, MkIII or MkIV Legion armour sets.

All of these fantastic new releases are available to pre-order now for despatch from Friday 5th April, and we hope to have the Outrider Squadron and the Support Weapon Sets on sale in limited numbers at the Forge World Open Day.

Realm of Battle Necron Tomb Complex
Due to popular demand, we’ve put together this online exclusive bundle, the Realm of Battle Necron Tomb Complex, which comprises four of Blake Spence’s Necron Tomb Citadel Tiles and four plastic Necron Monoliths. This creates a 4’ by 4’ (122cm by 122cm) playing area, which can extend a standard Realm of Battle gaming table. The Necron Tomb Complex bundle is exclusively available online, and can be pre-ordered now for despatch from Friday 5th April.

=========================================

The bikers are fricking awesome, i can only hope they release something similar for the imperial army as i think ive just found my rough riders for my guard, they are just superb. Nice to see some more weapons choices too, easpecially the rotor cannons - or assault cannons to me and you!
