Well folks after quite a long break I'm back and I have started 2014 with a bang, well ok not so much a bang as a wash up :)
I spent the weekend working on washing up this little lot:
This is some of the upcoming resin i have to work on for the latest expansion of my force :) Work all being well which will begin in a weeks time when I have a few days off work.
Millest's Wargaming Blog! It will no doubt end up becoming a place for my own odd thoughts! However its meant to start life as a Wargaming, hobby and painting blog. It will also be a book review site, a bit of a product review page, an airsoft blog and in places lots of other things, but over all I hope it will be a good read!

Hobby Update - Project Raptor and Baneblade WIPs
Hi Folks,
just to show I haven't been idle lately (a lot of wedding planning and visiting has been going on) its time to update on what work has passed through the workspace recently.
First up we have Project Raptor, one third of the project is now assembled (minus cockpit) and I must say the model looks awesome and is better then I thought it would be, I just hope I do it justice when I get to paint it.
Also over the weekend I spent time sat in the garden building the Baneblade I have had in the cupboard for about two years. The model is great, very clever and a lot bigger then I remembered. My only gripe is I really don't like the track assembly, the links just don't seem to gel when being built but over all I really like the model.
Hopefully these will get sprayed up before I go off in August for my honeymoon. I also need to finish some Chimeras and if time allows to get my Russes assembled and some guard stripped. Any updates or useful things I will share before then :)
any questions or requests for images of things I might have worked on please let me know.

Project Raptor - Time for Launch
Hi Folks,
the latest modelling project has hit my workspace. The latest being Project Raptor, as you can probably guess this is a flyer based project and is certainly a change from many many many infantry models and the odd Chimera based tank.
The first model that is being worked on is a Vulture with twin linked punisher cannons, this will be followed by a vendetta and possibly, should sales of airsoft kit suffice, a second Valkyrie will be joining the air support.
The Vulture was bought as a birthday present recently by my friends and is one of the nicest things my friends have ever got me. It was finally started this weekend with an awful lot of sanding and removal of large amounts of flash and overcast. Once sanded and the bits organised the kit doesn't appear anywhere near as daunting as it seemed to start with.
Once assembled the Vulture will be getting a matching paint scheme to the rest of the force but will benefit from some hopefully distinctive markings and options.
I did consider magnetising the weapons but given the thin ammo feeds between the hopper and the cannons it is unlikely they would survive storage so I most likely wont be doing that. I will give it a go and will let you know how successful it goes.
So keep tuned for more Project Raptor updates over the coming weeks.

Help Needed - Bits Request!
Hi folks,
I'm in desperate need of imperial guard track guards (the three section buts that fit over the treads) i need complete sets please as I've come up rather short on numbers so need some to complete my armoured company.
I'm also after rhino chassis head lights and the scanners from the top of predator sponsons if anyone has them.
The track guards are most important and i have some cash available for them. these are the most important parts:
please drop me a line if you can help out.
thanks

Millest’s Monthly Workbench - March Commitment
Millest’s Monthly Workbench - Febuary Commitment
So after last months success I intended to keep up the pace this month and expand the armour and airsoft gear, this however failed. Life got busy with odds and sods and working away for two weeks. Whilst I got two amazing weekends of airsoft in, i can highly recommend the UCAP sandpit site, so unfortunately no progress this month. This means though that March can be a busy month.
Workbench commitment for March 2013
So once again this month we have the tanks! I have a total of 4 Russes to build and magnatise. These are all Alpha pattern Forgeworld russes with the appropriate turrets, although I have 5 turrets as I plan to convert one for my commissar. In addition I have plastic Turrets as extras for them all to allow for some fun and games.
So this months commitment consists of the following:
- Build 4 x Leman Russ
- Build Additional Exterminator turrets
- Build Additional Russ turrets
- paint and reassemble mich
Thanks

Millest’s Monthly Workbench - January Update
Millest’s Monthly Workbench - January Update
First update of a new year commitment and I think Ive managed it, was a struggle with work and travel but i think I've done well.
Workbench update
So this months commitment consisted of the following:
- Build chimera - completed
- Build Manticore - completed
- Build 3 x hellhound - completed
- paint and reassemble fast ops helmet - completed
- paint and reassemble mich - partially completed
All the chimeras in the lower picture have not only their multilaser turrets but forgeworld autocannon turrets and out of shot a flamer turret each as well - for any eventuality. All the tanks have magnets in the front to allow for changing out the hull mounts should I need to. There is some small detailing i want to finish (when the bits arrive) such as track guards but all are ready for spraying once the Russes are complete.
The helmet after a brief sand down and buff didn't need painting and the finished article looks great, more on this in a future post, the only downside was that the Mich2000 didn't get completed. It got an initial coat of paint but then the weather turned and I couldn't spray, hopefully this weekend that might be rectified.
So overall quite pleased but really need to get it stepped up a gear for 2013.
Thanks

Ultramarines Contemptor and Predator - An update from Dan
Dans second update of 2013 here and already hes on fire, shaming both me and Chris with his progress (though he was been working on these a while :) ) below are pics of his latest completed models, A Predator and his Contemptor Dreadnought.
Both models are great and are showing great improvement, especially the Contemptor, and looks like the force is growing nicely.

Ultramarines Command Squad - An update from Dan
Dan has recently provided a further update to his Ultramarines force, this time in the guise of his command squad. Personally I really like the models and the use of various parts and weapons, such as the storm shields, to tie them all together.
The models are clean and simple conversions but they work really well together, the only thing missing to my mind is a nice sheild for the apothecary, however overall a great unit and one that works well with the Sicarus model. Cant wait to see some pics with paint on.
