Millest's Wargaming Blog! It will no doubt end up becoming a place for my own odd thoughts! However its meant to start life as a Wargaming, hobby and painting blog. It will also be a book review site, a bit of a product review page, an airsoft blog and in places lots of other things, but over all I hope it will be a good read!

6th Edition 40k - Dark Vengence Complete Contents Pictures
so folks after the teasers earlier I have managed to trawl round the internet and have found from various sources complete pics of not only the complete box set but of the individual units. The pics look like their from a white dwarf but to say I'm interested is an understatement, here are the pics:
First up a complete overview of the box:
next we have Dark Angels Terminators and Ravenwing bikers:
now the Dark Angels squad:
Now some chaos marines complete with all shiny new hellbeast thingy that kills marines:
finally time for the cultists/militia (certainly makes necromunda seem more viable):
certainly looks awesome, I am really up for this now and would like to know what everyone thinks about this as these so far look like the best boxset models GW has produced so far

Forgeworld Newsletter #255 - Space Marine Explosion! Armoured Might!
Hi Folks
third post of the day and this one is the business! we have the latest Forgeworld newsletter and for any Marine Enthusiast this is brilliant, a small flood of new releases!
As always reproduced as fully as possible, Enjoy:
Hi There,
This week’s Newsletter brings you a fresh wave of Space Marine kits to pre-order, along with two more A4 Transfer Sheets packed with vehicle and infantry decals and a reminder of our Christmas shipping deadlines and opening times.
Thanks, Ead Brown
Land Raider Achilles Available to Pre-Order Now
The first of our new wave of Space Marine releases is the devastatingly powerful Land Raider Achilles. This resin and plastic hybrid kit, designed by Stuart Williamson, boasts sponson-mounted twin Multi-Meltas and a hull-mounted Thunderfire Cannon. A line-breaker beyond compare, the Land Raider Achilles’ firepower is capable of forcing a breach in even the strongest defences at the tip of an armoured assault.
Originating in the closing years of the Great Crusade, the Achilles is perhaps the rarest and most venerable Land Raider variant still used on the battlefields of the 41st Millenium. It was originally created by the Imperial Fists Legion in response to a dire xenos threat now lost to the mists of history, and fittingly rare outside the noble Imperial Fists, their successors and the Ordo Reductor of the Adeptus Mechanus. The Achilles is perhaps most vaunted for its legendary durability - each stage of the hull’s construction incorporates layer upon layer of ancient electromagnetic algorithms and ferromantic incantations. This arcane lore is etched into the very structure of the Land Raider Achilles at a molecular level, and is one the most secret and ancient rites of the Cult Mechanicus.
The Land Raider Achilles is a complete resin and plastic kit, and is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing December 6th, and is included in the Space Marine Siege Assault Vanguard army list in the forthcoming Imperial Armour Volume 10: The Badab War Part II. As an exclusive extra, we have prised the rules for the Achilles from Alan Bligh’s grasp and they are available to download for free here.

Forge World MkIV Ironclad Dreadnought and Arms Available to Pre-Order Now
The latest addition to our range of MkIV Dreadnoughts is the siege specialist MkIV Ironclad Dreadnought, MkIV Hurricane Bolter, MkIV Seismic Hammer and MkIV Chainfist. These full resin kits, designed by Phil Stutcinskas, afford Space Marine players the complete range of Codex options for the Ironclad Dreadnought. Heavily augmented and outfitted for siege assault and ship boarding actions, the Ironclad Dreadnought sacrifices versatility and long-range firepower for even greater armoured defence and dedicated siege weaponry such as the Seismic Hammer and Chainfist, designed to pulverise the toughest bastion or armoured bulkhead into twisted wreckage. The fearsome short-ranged firepower of a Hurricane Bolter is often used to augment the Ironclad’s firepower, allowing the ancient hero within the sarcophagus to saturate breached defences with a deadly storm of bolter shells. The MkIV Ironclad Dreadnought is a full resin kit that comes complete with Hunter Killer Missiles and Frag Assault Launchers, furthering the Ironclad’s potent weaponry, as well as additional armour plates to fit the resin MkIV Hurricane Bolter, MkIV Seismic Hammer and MkIV Chainfist and our other MkIV Dreadnought arms. Each of these detailed kits is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing December 6th.

Well folks, as I said its a corker!!!!! The Red Hunters may well be receiving the Dreadnought before long but I am the most certain I have ever been that the Mentors need a tank and that bad boy at the top there is almost like it was designed with them in mind. I dont know what your thoughts are on these kits, but I'd love to know. Feel free to comment below for discussion with the other followers.
thanks and enjoy!

Hobby News - Stormraven Sneak peek!!! Its finally here!!!
Looks like GW let the cat out of the bag and here is the first look at the new Stormraven model:
OK so there are some serious questions over the origins of the model, is it a kit bash, is it pre production?? No one is quite sure but given its based on studio terrain with the studio BA army my bet is this is the finished and up coming model. certainly looks interesting and cant wait to get hold of one if that's the case! any thoughts?

Forge World Newsletter #246 - IA9 Badab war & UK Gamesday info
Another Forgeworld newsletter sneaking in before UK Gamesday, so for those interested here it is once again reproduced in full with an additional image:
Hi There,
This Newsletter is the second of our Games Day UK previews, and here at Forge World we are all getting excited about the biggest Games Day of the year. We’ve got loads of exciting stuff to tell you about, so read on for more…
Thanks,
Ead Brown
Imperial Armour Volume 9: The Badab War Part I Available at Games Day UK!
Forge World can proudly announce that Imperial Armour Volume 9: The Badab War Part I should be available in limited numbers as a Games Day UK exclusive pre-release!
The year is 903.M41 and Lugft Huron, Chapter Master of the Astral Claws and self-styled Tyrant of Badab, declares the secession of his domains from the Imperium, taking four entire Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes with him into rebellion.
The scene is set for an epic clash of arms that will see armies crushed, fleets shattered and entire worlds reduced to lifeless cinders in one of the most dangerous internecine conflicts the Imperium has known in a thousand years.
History will call Lugft Huron a madman and a traitor, and condemn him as a pawn of Chaos or a Xenos puppet, but history is written by the victor, and in the grim darkness of the far future the truth is seldom so simple…
Inside this book, the first volume in Forge World’s two-part exploration of the infamous Badab War, you will find a detailed account of the shadowed origins, terrible secrets and savage birth of the Tyrant’s rebellion. You will also find information on the malevolent Warp-storm of the Maelstrom itself as well as the dangerous and forlorn worlds that border it.
Also detailed are full histories and dispositions of the nine Space Marine Chapters that played the most significant part in the Badab War’s early stages - the Astral Claws, Fire Hawks, Marines Errant, Red Scorpions, Raptors, Novamarines, Fire Angels, Howling Griffons and Lamenters are each illustrated with extensive colour profiles.
This volume also contains a complete army list, The Tyrant’s Legion, representing those forces that defended Huron’s conquered realms from the Imperium’s wrath, and a purpose-designed campaign system for you to re-fight your own Badab War. Also included are five unique campaign missions and a special Boarding Assault mini-expansion for Warhammer 40,000 that allows you to fight brutal ship-to-ship combats on the tabletop.
The full-colour, 208-page book contains 15 colour pictures, 120 full colour Space Marine infantry and vehicle profiles and 10 detailed colour star maps, as well as three new Apocalypse formations and twelve new special characters representing mighty warriors from the Space Marine Chapters featured in this book. Forge World’s book production team and Imperial Armour Writer Alan Bligh have done sterling work adding fantastic new depth to the Warhammer 40,000 universe. The book also contains a full colour, double sided poster containing a detailed Badab Sector map by Sam Lamont, and brand new Space Marine artwork by Paul Bonner.
To whet your appetite, we’ve put together a gallery of sample page spreads that you can find here, and our Games Day lorry-load of stock will contain as many copies of this eagerly-awaited new book as we can manage to plunder from our printers. The book will be priced at £45, and because we don’t yet know exactly how many copies we’ll have available, we recommend that you send us a reservation order as soon as possible! We hope to announce a general release date for shipping world wide very soon.
Forge World Studio Stand
Our entire Design Studio team of Miniatures Designers, Imperial Armour Writers and the Book Production team will be on hand at Games Day UK, displaying future projects, work-in-progress miniatures and original artwork, as well as surrounding themselves with a dizzying array of beautifully-painted Forge World models for you to admire.
Imperial Armour Volume 9 writer Alan Bligh will be supplied with a whole box of pens to autograph your brand new copies of the Badab War Part I, and you’ll be able to quiz him on his plans for the concluding part of this exciting expansion and maybe even get a few hints of his dark plans for future Imperial Armour books.
Graphic Artists Sam Lamont, Kenton Mills and Ian Strickland will be proudly showcasing the fantastic colour profiles and artwork that they have produced for the Badab project, as well as explaining the stages that a book goes through before printing. Kenton might even be persuaded to let slip a few titbits about the range of forthcoming Decal sheets and Etched Brass symbols that he’s been working on.
We’ll be bringing you more news about what other members of our Studio team will have to show you in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
Place Your Games Day UK Reservation Now!
Forge World are now taking reservation orders for Games Day UK. This is the best way to guarantee that we will have exactly what you want and we’ll have a separate Reservations Collections area on our sales stand, so you can pick up your order at any point during the day. So whether you desperately want to treat yourself to a mighty Reaver Titan to crush your enemies with, or pick up a set of White Scar Rhino Doors to customise your vehicles, place a Reservation and we will have it packed up ready and waiting for you. You can also reserve the fantastic 2010 Show Only figure, Mark Bedford’s Ork Runt Bot.
What’s more, as a special bonus, if you place a reservation of £50 or more you’ll receive an extremely rare Show Only figure free when you collect your order on the day, while stocks last. The models available will be drawn from our range of previous Show Only figures such as the Reaver Titan Princeps and Ork Skwadron Kommander (but sadly not the Runt Bot). The staff who fetch your reservation will grab one at random from the selection we have available.
To place a reservation, just send an e-mail titled ‘Games Day UK Reservation’ to ForgeworldReservations@games-workshop.co.uk including your name and a list of the items you’d like us to provide. If you wish to reserve a copy of Imperial Armour Volume 9: The Badab War Part I, please note that we will confirm availability during the week before Games Day.
Finally, remember that anything we don’t have, or run out of, can be ordered on the day with the added bonus of completely free shipping!

You can also telephone us on 0115 916 8177 – in either case, we will provide you with an order number and total cost slightly before the event, and we’ll also inform you of anything that we can’t guarantee to have for you. If you wish to reserve a copy of Imperial Armour Volume 9: The Badab War Part I, please note that we will confirm availability during the week before Games Day.
Finally, remember that anything we don’t have, or run out of, can be ordered on the day with the added bonus of completely free shipping!

Forge World Newsletter #242 + Exciting tidbit from Forge World
Recieved the latest Forgeworld Newsletter today and was lead to some nice looking bits and peices, the main body talks about the following new releases (click on the text to go to the item):
Exclusive Sneak Peek
As you may have heard from our Studio design team at the Forge World Open Day back in March, or read in the Games Day UK Preview, our designers, graphic illustrators and writer Alan Bligh have spent much of the past few months feverishly working on an incredibly exciting Imperial Armour project that is, as yet, still Top Secret.
Our agents have managed to obtain this exclusive work-in-progress sneak peek of one of a veritable cornucopia of forthcoming Space Marine releases. Forge World is once again turning its attention to the noble warriors of the Adeptus Astartes, the Emperors' Finest. Many boffins died to bring us this information, so keep an eye on the Forge World Newsletter over the coming weeks for more details of this thrilling project...
When "saved to the pc" this comes up as a file called "mkVnl." I'm guessing that means Mark V Armour or at very least a helmet. I am very excited about what could be coming as it means my Mentors (especially) and Red Hunters will be getting some serious new outfitting.
- Ork Kommando Upgrade Set Available to Pre-Order Now
- Raven Guard Transfer Sheet Available to Pre-Order Now
- Shas'o R'alai Rules Now Available to Download
