Sambakarnevaaleista kotiinpäin / Towards home

Lähdin valumaan kirkolta kaikkien muiden mukana samaan suuntaan kuin sambakulkueet, mutta ei ollut toivoakaan päästä kadun varteen katsomaan - ja itseasiassa en olisi enää jaksanutkaan. 

I left the church in the same direction as the samba processions, the edges of the street were full of people and it would have been difficult to see samba - but actually I was already too tired from standing and watching the processions so I continued on my way.

Näpsäsin muutaman katukuvan ohimennen. / I took some streetphotos in passing.

Tästä ei oikein ohi mennä. / These people are not passed over

Kadun ylitys suojatietä pitkin. / Crossing the street along the crosswalk.

Kolmen Sepän patsas. / The statue of three blacksmiths.

Ja metron kyydissä kohti kotia.

And by metro towards home.

Vähän varttuneempia tanssijoita ja ihania pukuja.

Slightly more grown-up dancers and lovely dresses.

Sambakarnevaalit 1

     

Helsingissä oli viikonvaihteessa Sambakarnevaalit. Ja sinnehän myös minä menin. Espoon lähiössä asuvana, jossa harvoin näkee yli 10 ihmistä yhtäaikaa kadulla, niin oli taas shokki nähdä näin paljon ihmisiä yhtäaikaa.. heh.

The Samba Carnival was held in Helsinki at the weekend. And I went there too. Living in the suburbs of Espoo, where you rarely see more than 10 people on the street at the same time, it was again a shock to see so many people at the same time.. heh.

Kävelin Senaatintorille, josta kulkueet alkoi. Kirkon portaat oli täynnä istuvia katselijoita.

I walked to Senate Square, where the processions started. 

The steps of the church were full of seated spectators.
