6 months

Hard to believe it but yes, Tanner is already 6 months old! He is still a very content little boy but is not yet sitting up on his own (or sleeping through the night). But since he's a happy kid, I can't complain much. We went to his 6 month check up today and here are his stats:

Weight: 16 lbs 9 oz (50th percentile)
Height: 26 1/2 in (50th percentile)
Head: 18 in (90th percentile)

He's pretty much growing at the same rate he has been the whole time. The doctor told us not to start solid foods until 6 months and although I started with Keegan at just before 4 months, I was happy to wait with Tanner. However, I definitely think this little guy is ready for solids. Unfortunately, he's just going to have to wait a couple of weeks since we leave for Disney World this week! Andrew sends out daily texts detailing his excitement. You know we're really going for him, right? :) I'm sure we'll all have a great time. Look forward to a post full of pictures when we return in a couple of weeks!

I got his pictures taken last week and mailed them off to the family already (sorry if you haven't received them yet and this post ruins it for you!). He was a happy boy but very ready to sleep after an hour long photo shoot. :)

A Christmas Post...

I thought Christmas time deserved it's own post...mostly because we have so many pictures for it. We enjoyed a quiet Christmas at home. Despite me being sick all the way from the end of November to the New Year (thank goodness for antibiotics!) it was a very relaxing time. Andrew had almost a full month break from school and he was a huge help around the house. We can't wait for graduation in June!

Keegan thoroughly enjoyed decorating the tree. And halfway through December he even took a little toy hammer to all of the glass ball ornaments he could reach. Apparently he wanted to fully kid proof our house. Mission accomplished!!

Andrew is teaching Keegan the art of Santa hat wearing...all season long, wherever possible. :) (Mommy doesn't participate in this event. :) )

Keegan loves riding this train at the Cincinnati Museum Center...this year they started charging for rides--like everything else, right?

Christmas morning...our little Santa came!

Our little reindeer...love this outfit! Luckily it was big on Keegan so it fit Tanner too!

We enjoyed a visit from Andrew's mom and brother the day after Christmas. Grandma got Keegan these pajamas and Tanner had been given them as a baby gift so now they have matching monkey PJs!

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and wish you a very Happy New Year!

Hello Again

We've arrived in 2012! Here's what I've been mentally blogging for the past two months:

In October we got family pictures taken. By now most of you have seen them via our Christmas card & newsletter. Sorry if we missed you on that--please send me your address and we'd love to include you in our newsletter mailing next year! :) Here are a few of the pictures we didn't send out--

For Thanksgiving we surprised my parents with a visit to Washington! We sent Keegan to the door with a cardboard sign that said, "Looking for a good home, not potty trained". They happily accepted him and even us (Consequently, Keegan is 99% potty trained now! Yay!). We had planned the trip since February and were able to keep it a secret from them even when they visited us for six weeks this summer.

Grammie & Tanner (does this even look like my mom to anyone? Look at all that hair! :) The shag cut was definitely the best thing that happened to her hair--just ask my dad! )

The Landaker side cousins (except for Brandie's kids who were
home enjoying rare time with their Daddy)

Brandie, Amber, and Me (my sisters & I rarely get all together--we had a great time!)

Tanner, me, and Ryan--this is such a great pic of my brother-in-law that I had to share!

I even got to see my friend, Jenny Place, while visiting. This is her 4th son, Sebastian, and he is a couple of months older than Tanner. Keegan is close to the same age as her 3rd son, Noah. The last time we got together, Keegan and Noah were about the same age as Tanner & Sebastian are now!

Tanner turned 4 months old! (on November 29) and here are his stats:

Height: 24 3/4in (44th percentile)
Weight: 14lb 13oz (48th percentile)
Head: 17 1/4in (87th percentile)

So our little guy has a big head but he's so darn cute who notices, right? :)

This picture was actually taken on November 29 so I thought it'd be a good representation of Tanner one month ago. :) He is such a happy guy. He loves to roll but only on his right side from back to tummy. He occasionally rolls off his tummy to his back but it is so occasional that I don't count it as a milestone yet. Instead, he usually just cries about being stuck on his tummy. Keegan's face in this picture is an indication of his temperament these days. Please Tanner, stay sweet...
