Sunday in the park

This morning we went out early as it would get too hot even before 10 am. We had not gone out for two weeks as the Hungry Ghost month meant that there was a lot of smoke and ashes in the air and this would not be good for anyone, much less Bujang. This morning however, there was not even a trace of candles or offerings along the street. It was as though everything was taken away by the wandering ghosts to bring back home. The park itself was rather bare as the weather had been very unforgiving but we saw the usual people and the kitties had a good time people watching.

Keep him warm in his heart

Megat went for his (now) routine injections of fercobsang and Laurabolin last Friday. The vet was full and noisy but he kept his calm and all was over. I thought he did very well but later that night he developed fever. His whole body was hot although his ears and paws were cool to touch. It surprised me as he should not get fever from those 2 injections. He went limp, he could not keep his head up and hissed at me at every turn. 

It was an ordeal for the both of us as he is 17 this year and any infection could be dangerous.  I has to wipe him down with a cold compress and he stayed half the night with us (Bujang, Tanaka and myself). The air-conditioning helped a bit and the boys were very good and kept quiet as well. 

I called the vet on Saturday morning and he advised close monitoring and fluids every day. The vet said he should not get a fever from the 2 injections at all and that he could have developed an infection . But they could only give him a very limited array of fever meds and I was to bring him in today if the fever still persists or if he was still weak. I had called Fern as well for Reiki. 

It was quite a sight to see him this morning, walking out if his cage (by himself ) and my heart glad to hear him shout for breakfast. 

Fern said 'Keep him warm on his heart'. I think we all need to remember that. I know that he keeps me warm in my heart for sure.

One Last Note

Bujang has been up to no good these days. He has been yelling for the last 2 nights. Usually at bedtime, he would just hang out by the window and relax for abit for things to settle but these few nights he has been telling me in no uncertain terms to turn in early:) So instead of reading or even blogging, I think its time to turn in just in case he disturbs the neighbours who has a newborn babe and those babies can really cry!

One thing we all know about Megat is that when its 5.30, he gets very cranky and does NOT like being touched or even spoken to. He wants his FOOD! NOW!

Toro on Sunday

NO to the V_E_T!

Tomorrow he would get his blood test for pth and his ionised calcium test too. His skin has somewhat healed with regular cleansing and medicated antiseptic. Now the area is smaller and not so red. yesterday I found a bald round circle under his ruff. I think its caused by a fight with megat but it was as large as a 10-cent coin! So that is itself worrying. I hope he is not losing his fur or getting eczema or anything like that! I had put Frontline on him last week so it could not be a mite problem. This Toro is a mystery!

Hot Sleepy Sunday

I can't sleep. There are fings to do!

Although its hot, the breeze through the window lulls Megat to sleep...

Bujang has no trouble sleeping...

The heat today was unbearable. You can feel it getting into the hose through the cracks in the walls. Bujang made a lot of noise in the morning as he wanted to get out but we didn't because it was too hot to be out even at 10 am. Nov is supposed to be cool and rainy but I think the way the weather is lately, it would just be too hot.

Sunday Morning

We were up and about very early. san gave us breakfast but she had no grass for me. I saw her putting the grass seeds in the small plastic container. I think I will get some fresh grass next week but for now..I think grandma's plants look rather good...

Ms Akira got a chance to hang out wit Bujang and me in the living room this morning. She made the best of it as later she would have to be in her room as I have to go visit grandma at hospital.Grandma is doing very well and she slept on Bujang's pillowcase so we could wash her blanket. Later Bujang would get his pillow case back and I think he would stop meowing then.

I had put grandma's blanket in the laundry this morning and he was not pleased!

We went OUT today...YAY

Bujang and I went out for a short bit this evening. He ate some grass and spent a lot of time just lazing about on the cool concrete. Since it has been some time since we went out, he also spent a few times getting in and out of his carrier as he got startled rather easily by strange noises and people walking about. It was a pity that it started to drizzle and we had to go home. I hope to be able to take him out again next week in between work and grandma's visits :) He would enjoy it.

We R Glad

We are glad that Toro is feeling better and will be home soon. I was looking fur him this morning and yesterday too. I called and called but he disn;t answer. San says he is at the hospital but now I know we will see him soon. Fanks to effuryone who helped us with purrayers.

Easy Peasy Sunday

The boys were very relaxed this Sunday. Toro preferred to complain that he was hungry and Megat preferred to play. Now that he is a little roly-poly, he preferred to have the lure brought to him rather than his usual slip and slide technique. I did not insist as he coughed a week ago and he had a full 1.5 minutes of trying to get his breath. Bujang as usual, was in his Escape From Alcatraz mode :)
