Something New - French Grenadier Guards from Old John

Thanks for all the positive feedback, which has encouraged me to crack on with a few more units.

I got these figures from John Cunningham 'Old John' some months back and they have been sitting on my workbench half painted as other projects came and went. John describes these figures as moulded in the Hinton Hunt style, and they do look very similar. They are crisply cast and very nice to paint. The standard bearer is a conversion from one of the marching figures, with a home made standard.

The last picture is a comparison between thse figures and some Hinton Hunt British Guards.

Another Russian Lancer Regiment

This time in red facings we have the 17th Lancers. Once again these are Hinton Hunt, probably Brunswick Napoleonic Uhlans.

The two regiments together will form the cavalry reserve:

In the pipeline are more Turkish gunners to man the redoubts along the Causeway heights!

More Russian Lancers

Continuing to build the numbers of Russian cavalry units, this lot represent the Russian 13th Lancers, with their yellow facings. The figures are old Hinton Hunt 20mm examples that have been lurking in a box since the 1970s.  A second regiment of the same figures is almost complete, which will make up the Divisional light cavalry brigade:

Hinton Hunt Crimean War Range

The long disappeared figure producer Hinton Hunt produced a modest range of Crimean War figures, although nowhere near as extensive as the Douglas range. Most of the Hinton Hunt figures (if not all) are obtainable today from John Cunningham. I bought a few British Guards figures to do a comparison and here are the results, with the Hinton Hunt figures on the left. Height wise they are not bad, although the Douglas figures are more slender overall. On the table the units mix quite well:

This is a complete unit of Hinton Hunt British Foot Guards, painted a few month ago. The range has two types of officer figure, but no drummers or standard bearers. I converted standard bearers from charging officer figures:
