The bank holiday provided the time to rebase more Warrior Miniatures Austrians. On this occasion the batch consisted of six battalions. Two are German line infantry, two, with the blue breeches are Hungarian line infantry, then there are two Reserve units. One is Austrian Landwehr in campaign dress and the other (I believe) is the Salzburg Landwehr, the guys in green.
I also found two spare gunners, so I painted a commander and made up another battery.
A Hungarian battalion:
Landwehr:Next will be another batch of Landwehr. After that it will be a case of forming some more units from the odds and ends left from the reorganisation. That should provide another 4 or 5 battalions.
Very impressive parade of your new battalions, you are going to have a very nice Austrian army when all done, really enjoying seeing these Warrior Miniatures get there new lease of life.
ReplyDeleteThanks Donnie. They are rather lovely and as you say, they will look good on the table, if I can fit them all on it!
DeleteThey look lovely. I've alway thought the Austrians looked very smart, and this is going to be a fabulous looking army. I'm impressed with your productivity, I only managed to do a bit of undercoating!
ReplyDeleteThanks Martin, luckily I am not painting them, just soaking off the old bases and adding new ones, although each batch takes about 10 days, I have a production line of figures.
DeleteI hope you can fit them all on the table as it's an army I'd love to see in action.
ReplyDeleteIt will be an interesting exercise. Once I have rebased the french and their allies, I should be able to fight some large battles. I can extend my playing surface to 8 x 4, which should allow enough room for most of the troops.
DeleteLooking really good Bob!
