Danger 5 Nazi Cast

These were originally what I was hoping to get finished for the recent 7TV Pulp Day. However I only managed to get Hitler and Blondie (Hitlers dog) finished with the Shock Trooper squad only being 80% finished. I still also need to get another Co Star done Though I am still working on him but other things have had to skip the queue as I have a Burrows and Badger event coming up on the 1st October and want to get a few more models done for that.

These were a free sprue that came with Wargames Illustrated a few years back. They are Warlord Games Bolt Action winter infantry. I went with mostly KAR 98K rifles and MP40s for the sergeant/Officer. But the sprue game with all sorts of weapons. Panzerfausts, MP44s, G43 rifles but as I wanted them to fit an earlier period I went with the weapons mentioned earlier. I quite enjoyed doing these both assembling and painting. Though I probably would need to pick up some different paints if I was todo an army as I don't have German Field Grey and the other colours were mixed to match as good as possible to the Historical painting guides I'd been looking at.

I had to improvise with some of the arms so the trooper on the left is actually carrying ammo for a MG34 which the squad doesn't have. If I do decide to get some more and expand them then I will add an Mg34 armed trooper to the squad. The Sergeant and Officer got the MP40's

Next up is Adolf Hitler himself. This model is from the Danger 5 set by Crooked Dice and is based of the rather amusing Series called Danger 5. Played by Carmine Russo

I went for just a black cross instead of the Swastika and applied the same to Golgo Satana below

Blondie is Hitlers dog both in real life and in the Danger 5 series however it is played by a rather amusing smoking puppet in the series.

I rebased Golgo Satana by Statusque and repainted her shoulder pips and armband to match Adolf's.

The Whole Cast together eventually I will have another officer and I may get some of the excellent Jet Troopers by Pulp Figures to round the cast out a bit.

Facebook Competition Prize! Warlord Games MASH Unit

I was pleasantly surprised this week to get a private message on Facebook notifying me that I had one a prize from a Facebook Page that I follow's competition. Creative Painting & Models 24/7 is the name of the page and they run a great little ebay store LINK selling allsorts of great hobby bargains.

The prize being a set from Warlord Games new Korean War range for Bolt Action. The MASH unit and yes they are themed on the show. The set in question is a Mobile Army Surgical hospital. This is quite a bonus as I have two sprues of Warlord American Infantry which I think in a pinch can be used alongside these wonderful looking models.

There is also a cool little MDF Helicopter you can get as well. Just needing a perspex dome to get the right look. I may have to try and pick up a diecast one.

Here is a link to the Facebook Page LINK who also happen to be running another competition this time for a set of Halfling Militia for Warlord Games Fantasy game system Warlords of Erehwon.

Nice little set of 10 Figures (including the one on the bed. All single piece except the legs for the bet. Nice to see all the bases where included as well.

First Necromunda fig finished.

Quick mid week post. Finished off my first figure for Necromunda. I had this figure from the Warlord games stand Last October. The figure is Hansa Nairoba a mercenery character for the Gates of Antares sci fi game. I picked it up just because I really liked the model and its sculpted by Kev White from Hasslefree miniatures.

I just liked the figure and had no real idea what scheme to paint him in and he has sat undercoated on my desk since then. When I started the Necromunda project backup I then realised what good Van Saar he would make so decide to paint him in there typical green scheme. I think he works quite well as an upgraded ganger or perhaps even a leader.

I then had though he would make a good Harlon Nayl from the Eisenhorn trilogy by Dan Abnett a bounty hunter who work for the inquisitor from time to time. I think I will need a second one now lol

I haven't really done much else on this project I plan to start and tackle it fully in September. I mentioned last post I got some damaged figures from Kieron over at http://cheaphammer.blogspot.co.uk/ I've stripped them back and repaired the damaged bits mainly replacing the knife blades and adding a new hand with silenced pistol (very Delaque I thought)

Gaming wise I played my second game of Batman last night down at Pulp Citizens Slightly bigger crews this time. Black Mask facing off against the Penguin. I took all my crew withs gents agreement over the to elite penguin gang.  I lost 32-21 VP with it being quite close until the final round when I lost Penguin and got turfed off 2 out of the 3 objectives I was holding. It was a really good game and I learned a few lessons Dead Shot is erm deadly! I also made one error which was moving to close to a lampost with my shield thug who then got sniped by Mesh with his assault rifle on Round 1 ouch! I should of paced Titan Thug as over two rounds dead shot turned him into a smear across the road lol.

The Crew is due to be expanded again soon with Freeze and two more thugs (Shotgun/Smg) Though I am now thinking of adding Sickle and the Machete/Pistol Thugs. Different combo's are being tossed around with tougher crews and bigger numbered crews being ones to try out.
