TN Time with Lisa & Lori~ September edition!

Happy September!!  Fall is drawing near, the morning's have been a lot cooler and the air is turning crisp on certain evenings here in Texas!!  After so much hot weather it's a welcome relief!! It's a new month and that means a new challenge so let's get the party started with another edition of our TN Time with Lisa & Lori challenge!

HERE IS HOW OUR CHALLENGE WORKS:
This is a monthly challenge that launches on the 10th of each month  You will have until the 9th at midnight CST to link up your entries. If you complete my sketch challenge link your TN, bullet journal or planner spread below. If you combined my challenge with Lori's challenge link up your spread here on my blog AND on Lori's Blog (My Happy Life). This is a "just for fun" challenge with no prize, but isn't the real prize just documenting your memories and getting more pages done in 2022???!!!!

Now for my challenge!! Here is this month's sketch:

Here is Lori's Challenge for this month (September 10th-October 9th):

Here is my spread created with the sketch and using Lori's September challenge:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: CTMH Grateful Heart & Stampin' Up (woodgrain); cut apart card: Bo Bunny Beautiful Things; cardstock: Stampin' Up Night of Navy & Early Espresso; letter stickers: American Crafts Thickers; puffy hearts: Bo Bunny Beautiful Things; ephemera: Pink Fresh Studios Fall Splendor; chipboard sticker: Pink Fresh Studios Fall Splendor & word strip: Pink Fresh Studios Fall Splendor; tab punch: We R Memory Keepers & Stampin' Up circle punches.

I am still working on my 2021 album, and have made it to October of 2021 so just a few more pages and it will be done!  I am determined to finish it this year!  Since the sketch didn't really allow much room to journal I made my cut apart card a pocket and using my tab punch I created my own tag and tucked it behind the cut apart quote card which is where I have added my journaling.

Some close ups:
I loved this beautiful cut apart card from the new Bo Bunny Beautiful Things collection!  Everything I used on this spread (except the green dot paper) is from my September Stash Bash kit!  It was super easy to create this spread using my kit and the sketch!

Lori's challenge for us this month is to use tags and since I love tags it wasn't much of a challenge in all honesty!  I hand cut these tags from the patterned paper and then punched out the hole reinforcers from cardstock. I love creating my own tags!!

NOW FOR THE RULES FOR THE CHALLENGE:

Well Rounded ~ Cookin' Up Creations challenge!!

Good morning and TGIF!!  Today I am hosting my second challenge of the month at Cookin' Up Creations!  We are having fun all September long focusing on all things circular!!  For today's challenge called "WELL ROUNDED" I am challenging everyone to create a layout with some circular journaling!!  Here is what I came up with:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Scenic Route (grid), CTMH (branding strip), Bo Bunny (background dot), Jen Hadfield Pebbles Hey Hello; cardstock: Basic Black & Whisper White Stampin' Up; stickers: Jen Hadfield Pebbles Hey Hello; Letter Stickers: American Crafts Thickers, Doodlebug Designs (square, word "tea" & circle letter stickers), black pen: Sakura black Pigma Micron pen.

I had a lot of fun creating this layout!  I have been wanting to do a favorites layout for awhile and so this challenge presented the perfect opportunity for me!  I was gifted this fun set of stickers and the 6 x 8 paper pad from the Pebbles Hey Hello line and so since I didn't have any 12 x 12 sheets this design was perfect as I didn't need any large pieces of paper for it except the background papers. The lovely color palette of this line was easy to match except for one of the pinks which is almost neon, so I didn't use that one!  I love the way adding outlining to the circles and banner with my black pen helped give added dimension to the layout!  This is fast becoming one of my favorite ways to "dress up" my layouts or cards!!  I hope you will join in the fun this month at Cookin' Up Creations!  This forum is the place to visit if you are short on inspiration!!  Have a wonderful weekend and happy creating!

Good Monday morning friends!!!  Usually I am like everyone else dreading Monday morning but not today...today I am thrilled to share the AMAZING August Cafe Card kit from The ScrapRoom with you today!!  I was so blessed to be able to work with this beautiful kit this month!
 Here is the kit:

Here are my cards created using this kit:

These cards came to together so quickly using this kit! Everything coordinated so well together!  Plus I have scraps left over to create at least another 4-5 cards!  I would just need to add more card bases! The only things I used from my stash were white and black pearls for the 1st 3rd and 4th cards and my butterfly and scallop circle punches for the 1st card!! Everything else you see came in the kit including the card bases, envelopes and card stock!!  Plus I can use that adorable stamp and mini ink pad over and over again! This is my new favorite sentiment stamp, it is just perfect for so many occasions!  Make sure and stop by The ScrapRoom blog to see what the other card designer, Dee created with her kit!  If you would like to purchase your own kit go HERE, you won't be sorry you did!  Plus you get step by step directions to MANY of the cards created by the DT using this kit!  What a fun, fast and easy way to create a bunch of cards to have in your stash!!!!  Make sure and share here what you create with your kit, I would love to see!!

Twistback Thursday challenge!

It's my turn to host this month's Twistback Thursday challenge at Sketch N Scrap where we use one of our older sketches from a year or more ago and add a fun twist to it.  Here is the sketch from April 2014 by Kelly:
This month's TWIST is THE GREAT OUTDOORS, use photos taken outside for your layout!  Riding bikes, fishing, playing baseball, camping, swimming, any outdoor fun time will do!  We are getting into the swing of Spring & want to see those outdoor photos!
And here is my take on the sketch:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Scenic Route, MME, Bo Bunny & Echo Park; chipboard: MME;
wood veneers: Studio Calico; enamel dots: MME; journal tag: Jillibean Soup, alphabet: Doodlebug
These pictures are of my littlest nephew learning to ride his big boy bike!  He can really fly on that thing!  This layout came together super quick thanks to my scrappy pal Kelly!  Of course, her wonderful sketch is the inspiration for the design but she also is the creator of the awesome kit that I used for this layout.  Kelly & I attended to Scrapbook Expo back in February of this year and we thought it would be fun to put together a kit using our stash for each other.  Basically we set parameters as to what the kit would include such as 5-6 patterned papers and at least one alpha etc just for general guidelines and got to creating from our stash!  We did give each other suggestions in what type of kit we would like- I picked summer colors/theme- and she did an awesome job putting it together for me, it was PERFECT and even better then one I could have bought!  Now don't get me wrong, all the lovely kits out there are wonderful and who wouldn't want to purchase a few, but with the amount of stash we both had we knew we wanted to focus on using it at the crop vs buying more stuff!  So this was a perfect inspiration and so fun.  I have put together kits for myself from my stash in the past and it really has helped me to use up some older things I had like a misc remaining embellishment or a piece of paper that was from a collection I had mostly used up and didn't have enough to make a full layout with anymore.  You can see some of my kits I have made HERE.  Having everything coordinate and right at your fingertips will definitely make your layouts come together quickly...and add a wonderful Sketch N Scrap sketch and you will have a layout done before you know it!  I hope you will find time to play along with us at Sketch N Scrap this month, besides this fun Twistback Thursday sketch we are celebrating our third birthday bash with a challenge a day, so make sure and join us and get all the details on the Sketch N Scrap blog!

Card Sketch #6

Time for our last sketch of July! This month has flown by, summer is coming fast to a close and the kids will be back in school soon, however, at Sketch N Scrap we will continue to have lots of fun sketches for you each month!
This is the sketch for this week's challenge:

Here is my card I created:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Bo Bunny Forever Fall; Stickers: Bo Bunny Forever Fall
& Jolee's (sunflower); cardstock: Stampin Up; ribbon: American Crafts; die: Sizzix Tag Die
stamp: Stampin Up; ink: Stampin Up Early Espresso

I loved this line by Bo Bunny and this quote was so perfect for a card!  I designed this entire sketch with that quote sticker in mind!  Funny how some things inspire us isn't it?  The colors in this line scream fall and are so rich, I bought two of most of the papers!  I hope you will take some time to create a card based on this sketch! You have until July 31st to enter our challenge for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate from the Paper Secrets store!  What a great prize!  Go check out the great line of scrappy goodness at Paper Secrets and I think you will find you can easily find $20 worth of products you would love to have!

Sketch N Scrap #26

I can't believe it is time for another sketch at Sketch N Scrap!  February got here too fast!  Our sketch this time around is a 5 photo sketch.  I love using as many photos as possible on my layout! Here is the sketch:

I loved this sketch so much I made not one but TWO layouts using it!  The first one as you can see I stuck pretty close to the sketch using snowflakes as my embellishments.
 Supplies Used:  Patterned Paper: KI Memories, Simple Stories, Bella Blvd, snowflakes: Stampin Up, Simple Stories;
stickers: Simple Stories; Letters: "snow" Making Memories, rest from Simple Stories, pearls: Kasiercraft

For my second layout I used a variety of embellishments in place of the snowflakes.
Supplies Used: Patterned Papers: Bo Bunny and My Mind's Eye; stickers: Bo Bunny; chipboard embellishments: My Mind's Eye;
punch outs: My Mind's Eye; brads: My Mind's Eye; letter stickers: Bo Bunny

It feels so good to use up some older stash!  The Bo Bunny and My Mind's Eye papers have been in my stash for quite some time so I was glad to find photos they worked with! The first layout is of my son during one of our OCTOBER trips to Nebraska a few years back!  Can you believe the amount of snow?  It was in the 90's when we left DFW and was 27 and starting to snow when we landed in Omaha! The second layout is of my nephew and his new ATV ride on toy that he got last summer.  He LOVES that thing! Plus he is a very good driver for a two year old! lol!  I hope you will find this sketch as inspiring as I did!  Don't forget to hop on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to see what the other DT members did with it.  Plus we have a Guest Designer this month as well as a GREAT prize up for grabs!  You can see it all HERE. You have until February 28th to create a layout based on the sketch to be eligible for our randomly drawn prize.  Plus don't forget to mark February 7th on your calendar and join us for our first every blog hop! Tons of fun going on at Sketch N Scrap in February so stop by often!  I hope everyone has an awesome weekend!

Sketch N Scrap 23

Howdy friends! Can you believe I am back to post the SECOND sketch for December already?  Seems like it was just yesterday I posted our December 1st sketch! Time really does fly when you are having fun huh?  We have had awesome weather here this past week and have been able to really enjoy some fun outdoor activities!  I hope your December is going as well too.  Here is the December 15th sketch for Sketch N Scrap:
And here is my take on it:

Supplies Used: Patterned Papers: Bo Bunny; circles: Jillibean Soup Grandma's Lima Bean Soup punch outs;  wood accents (people):
Studio Calico;  Letter Stickers: American Crafts Remarks (ivory), Basic Grey (brown little letters) and October Afternoon (brown)

I was able to use up some older stash (Bo Bunny papers & alphas) while using some of my newer embellies that I was dying to play with (wood people and Jillibean Soup punch outs).  Don't you love to mix new and old supplies?  It used to be so hard for me to mix manufacturers but I feel more at ease with it as of late, which is good...stressing over your pages is never fun!   I also entered this layout into the Personalscrapper week 20 challenge which was a challenge to document why you scrapbook.  I journaled about why I scrapbook on this page and hid some of it under my picture.  In light of the recent tragedy in CT it seems even more important then ever to me to document all my memories, whether just mundane everyday moments we sometimes take for granted or the more "exciting celebrations".  I know many of you are with me on leaving a legacy for our loved ones showing how much we loved each other, sharing traditions and how they got started as well as documenting the "boring" everyday moments that really in the long run we hold so dear when we lose a loved one.  My heart goes out to those who lost a loved one in this tragedy, how horrible and I just can't imagine, but it does put things into perspective for us for sure.  Have a blessed week and hug those you love extra tight today!

Howdy friends!  Hope your weekend was great!  Mine was!  I was able to spend it with a good friend scrapping in Kansas City at the Play All Day Crop put on by Embellish It.  We had a great time, great table mates, great food and great classes.  I would highly recommend this crop to anyone who is on the fence about it.  I was able to finish 7 layouts, including the one above.  I will be sharing them with you when I can.  This layout based on Sketch N Scrap 12 is of my nephew and brother on their first Father/Son fishing trip.  I have had these papers over a year waiting on them to go so I could use them, so I was excited to finally put them to use!  I can't believe how well the colors in the pics worked with my papers- what a happy happenstance!  lol!  I hope you will find some time this week to play along at Sketch N Scrap the prize package sponsored by Scrappy Chics is to die for and the DT did some awesome work again this week, so please head over and check it out!  Until next time,

Croppy inspiration!

Well, here are the other two layouts I completed at the VERY funny New's Year's crop at Personalscrapper last week! For layout one the challenge was to use a large photo, so I picked this one of my brother, SIL and nephew in front of their Christmas tree. The papers are from Bo Bunny Blitzen found in my December Personalscrapper kit. I added the American Craft flairs (love those things) as well as the Stampin Up felt snowflakes and Paper Trunk Benny alphas ( another MUST HAVE) from my stash! This layout is a direct "lift" from another layout I did in the past you can find it HERE.....don't you love it when you can lift yourself? After all, who needs to reinvent the wheel.

The second layout is my first time to use my papers I got last spring at Archivers from the Simple Stories summer line. I must say this line is super fun to work with, too bad I only got just a few papers, may have to find more somewhere! This layout is based on a sketch by Allison Davis from Sketch Support, this is one of her best sketch in my opinion! These pictures of my brother and nephew were a bit blurry, but in the wallet size format it is not as noticeable, so hard to photograph a fast moving two year old without a bit of blurriness! lol! I hand stitched the flower stems, the flowers are punch outs from my stash by Stampin Up and the letter stickers are Thickers!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the rest of my scrappy creations, up on this week's agenda is getting caught up on the 52 week challenges over at Personalscrapper! Can you believe how fast January is going? So what's on your scrappy agenda this week?

Race to the finish line!

Well, the end of the year is looming and so is the end to this year's 52 week challenges over at Personalscrapper! This is a layout I quickly created tonight for the "Use stamps" challenge. This makes my 27th layout done for the 51 challenges that have been issued so far. As you can see I am lagging behind by almost 1/2 a year lol! But I still have a little over a week left, think I can do 25 more? Now that is what I would call a "pipe dream!" So since my time was limited to around 2 hours tonight to get this done before my Pilates class I decided to use some inspiration from my early Christmas gift to myself- my Scrapbook and Cards Today 2012calendar with sketches by Beck Fleck of Page Maps! This layout is based on a sketch by Becky included in the calendar and is also almost a direct lift of the sample page for this sketch, of course, I have altered it a bit to fit the supplies I had on hand, but it is definitely inspired by this AWESOME calendar! I am so glad I spent the $12 or so to get it, WELL worth it! Becky has the most awesome sketches out there in my opinion! These pictures are some of the less desirable ones from our trip to the Pumpkin Patch this last October. I decided shrinking them down this small lets me use them without the flaws being so noticeable. Papers on this layout are by Bo Bunny, Stickers from Bo Bunny, sticker letters by Basic Grey, cardstock Bazzill....and then stamps are from the set Fantastic Foliage by Stampin Up and here is the neat part, are you wondering how I get the image to look like this? Well, I stamped on the rust cardstock with BLEACH! The image bleaches out the color of the cardstock, it is so cool to see what color it will bleach too as you can never tell til it completely dries! Helpful hint: use the "gel" bleach for best results as liquid bleach is a bit to runny. Also these stamps had almost too "detailed" of an image making them look a bit "blobby", the less detailed the image the easier it will be. However, this is my only leaf stamp set, so I had to use it. If you decide to try stamping with some bleach, please link up your project in the comments section so we can all see your results! This is a fun fun technique and really simple too! Well, off to wrap up some gifts, gotta get going on that front so I won't be up all night Christmas Eve! Look for my holiday card share coming soon, I just mailed my cards yesterday, but hey, they should arrive the day or so before which isn't too bad right?

Flower Girl ~ Sketch 68

Happy Monday again everyone! I am so excited to share this layout with you today based on sketch 68 from The Scrappiest! This layout was super easy to put together and uses the new Bo Bunny Petal Pushers line. I really love this girly girl line, it is so bright and colorful! These pictures are of my niece picking flowers (really weeds) at her brother's baseball game a few weeks ago. She was so sweet and intent on picking them all! LOL! She got quite a collection! I bought just a few sheets of this paper and the chipboard at my local scrapbook store, just couldn't resist it on a little shopping run a few weeks back...I did have to resist the lovely summer line though, really wanted it, but decided to wait. Usually I don't even like Bo Bunny, but to like two lines at the same time is rare for me! So share with me your fav line that you really really want but haven't got yet or even that line you like me couldn't resist on your last shopping trip. I'd love to see your layouts with it as well so link up in the comments please! And if you want to use Sketch 68 at The Scrappiest you could win an AWESOME kit from Scrapbook Deals 4U and then you wouldn't have to buy ANYTHING! LOL!.. just link your layout here! Have fun creating everyone!

Summer don't go!

School's been in session now for a few weeks here and so its starting to sink in more each day that summer is slowly coming to a close, however, with these 90+ degree days it is hard to believe at times. It does cool down a bit now at night, which has started me thinking of Fall, but I'm still on a scrap those summer pics kick. Today's layout uses the Bo Bunny Mango Luau line which I grabbed just 4 sheets of because I just really didn't need anymore summer papers, but how could I resist these beautiful papers? Especially after I saw this awesome layout by Christine Ousley. I love the way my lift of her Summertime layout turned out. Letters are from Paper Trunk (love their new letters, they are a great size for when you need a smaller title) and the journaling block is from Kaiser Crafts (its really a rub on). The pics are from our summer vacation to Cocoa Beach. The colors weren't real good in these pics as it was dusk, so turning them to sepia tone really made them a better picture. So what's your favorite summer line? I really must say the Bo Bunny Mango Luau, Cosmo Cricket Snorkel and Fancy Pants Summer Soiree are my favs this year. Not sure about Fall lines yet, don't really have my eye on any at the moment, but give me time! LOL! Be sure and check back tomorrow cuz I am announcing some great blog candy here on my blog for all my awesome readers, because here in a few days my blog will be ONE YEAR OLD! WOW! Can you believe it? I can't...seems like just yesterday. Fun prizes people so be sure and check back for the announcement tomorrow! Catch ya later!
