I've rounded out my army with some pieces of artillery in the form a cannon battery and a mortar:
That's my Army of Montrose completed to 500pts and ready to get some games in!

Alternating projects keeps things fresh but also makes things a bit slower, I'm so close to the end of this Montrose army that I'm just going to smash out the last couple of bits now that these Highlanders are finished:
Just the artillery sections to complete now whoop!
In the calm before the storm i decided to get a unit from my Pike & Shotte army out of the way, and MacColla's Bodyguards were the quickest and easiest to do:
It also let me try out the flags i got from Flags of War and i think its superb!
I decided to paint up the remainder battalia commanders and my army general today as I did not have masses of spare time this week and doubted I could even build another Irish brigade today!
Highlander Battalia Commander
I went with schemes similar to the Warlord store jobs, nothing flashy but they will do!
Taken a while but my first big block of troops in the army are now finished:
The Full Unit with wings
Back on to my Montrose now, here are the Shotte wings for my 1st Irish Brigade unit:
Hopefully will have the pikes finished by the end of the week!
First of the commander models for my Montrose with this cavalry commander:
Made from a spare Moss Trooper from the Scots Lancers box and a leftover horse from my Napoleonic's hehe, he looks rather splendid and will do a fine job commanding the Gordon Horse!
Finished up the second unit of Gordon Horse:
You can only field two units of these in the army so it makes sense to max out on the best cavalry the Montrose can use haha!
I'm going to clear another small project then return to the next unit in my army.
Next up on this years list of projects is the army of Montrose for Pike and Shotte!
