Description: "Vivaldi - The Fifth Season" is a new form of BaRock opera created for the Volksoper and creates a symbiosis of old and new, of traditional and modern. Christian Kolonovits, with his combination of baroque elements and the clear power of rock music, proves how close these two styles are to each other. "Vivaldi - The Fifth Season" tells the exciting, scandalous and dramatic life of a superstar: the violin virtuoso, composer and "red priest" Antonio Vivaldi.
Live recording of the Volksoper Vienna. "Vivaldi - The Fifth Season" was written by Viennese conductor and musician Christian Kolonovits, who has worked with Wolfgang Ambros, the Berliner Philharmoniker or José Carreras. The critics at the most important German musical award also honored this achievement and awarded two awards to the Austrian mastermind Kolonovits: Best Composition and Best Musical Arrangement!
The main role in "Vivaldi - The Fifth Season" is played by musical star Drew Sarich (known from "Jesus Christ Superstar" or "Rocky - The Musical"), who also won the Best Actor Award at the German Musical Theater Prize 2017 for his performance.
The musical was also given three awards at the German Musical Theater Prize: Best Composition, Best Musical Arrangement, Best Actor.
