Evey's vocabulary

So this is crazy..Evey is saying words like crazy. I have mixed feelings about it all..it's so darn cute..but then it's making her grow up faster..which I am in denial of! :) Here is her list from the past few weeks:

"bankie" (blankie)

"appo" (apple)

"daddy and mommy" (it's so clear)

"Ella, Evey" ( she has also said Carter Caden and Emmy a few times)

"juice"

"cookie"

"guckie" (yucky)

"pitty" (pretty) today at church we were playing with her sisters' hairband so when I put it on her head she said this

"book" she has the cutest baby jabber when she looks and points at the pictures

"rock" she loves to eat, hold, and throw them

"baw" ball

"puppy" she'll pant like a dog whenever she sees one

"bye-bye" she talks on pretend phones and real ones..I love how babies put the phone on their shoulder and not their ear

"hot" she'll say this when she sees our gas burner lit up on the stove

"this" she'll say it when she points to the thing that she wants

"mo" (more)

"boo" loves peek-a-boo

"meow"

"nigh-nigh" (night night) I always sing her a song while rocking her and then say night night. So now as soon as I start singing her song she repeatedly says nigh nigh

Evey loves to dance. When she hears the music she'll stop in her tracks and bop up and down or sway back and forth. This is a time where she is rockin' out!

Thanks for letting me brag once again..that is what our blogs are for right?!

Spring Break

Spring break came early this year but I guess it usually does..I always wish that it would be the same as my siblings up in Salt Lake so we could make a trip up there and have the cousins play together. My poor boys..I think they were quite bored! They are used to go go going. Each day we had an outing and then came home in the afternoon for Evey's nap. I wasn't too great at capturing those outings on camera. Our activities included visiting the park, and more parks..gotta love the weather here! We also went to the library, played hopscotch, and got wet on the trampoline. I feel bad that I wasn't a more patient mother this week..I've really got to work hard at that this summer. Maybe I need some therapy! :)

It was friend central this week..here they are having a book club under the trampoline clubhouse that I set up for them. Ella, Elle, Tiernan, Aydia, Caden, Emery, Amara

Vacationing visitors

Over a week ago Curtis' second cousin, Kristie and her cute family stayed with us for a night. They are from Calgary and were on their way to California to stay in a time share and to spend a few days in Disneyland. It was fun to have a family with 5 children stay with us..we doubled in size, yeah! Their oldest boy Keegan is Carter's age and the rest are girls. The kids had so much fun playing together. We let them all stay up until 11:00ish. Curtis then showed Kristie and Iain our tv and blu-ray player..his pride and joy! They sure were impressed with how beautiful St. George is with the cactuses and palm trees...one of their little girls told me that she was so excited to go to California because she would find summer there! It was a lot of fun to just visit and listen to Curtis and Kristie reminisce...they grew up together. They are such a nice couple and Kristie loves to laugh..a girl after my own heart! Thanks for coming guys..we loved it and we hope to have you come visit again!

Dr. Seuss week

I have been a slacking blogger these days so these pictures are from a few weeks ago! Dr. Seuss week at school has a different theme to follow each day. One of the days was dress up like your favorite book character. Carter chose Greg from Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Caden was Calvin from Calvin 'n Hobbes and Emery was Sharpay from HSM...not officially a book character but oh well.

The last day of the week was Crazy hair day. Carter wanted nothing to do with it..so Ella took over for him and joined in on the fun! It was neat to see all the creative styles!
The kids also wore their Cat in the Hat hats the first day but I forgot to take a picture.

Her sweet words

Okay...so normally I would put this "kids say the darndest things" entry off to the side of my blog but I really felt like it earned a bigger spot than that...hence brings this post. Ella has the sweetest moments especially when she is singing with her lisp as her tongue sticks out on the "s" sounding words. So I was singing her a bedtime song, "I Like to Look for Rainbows". After when I was singing to Emery I just heard Ella singing it to herself and the line that says, "I know when I am baptized, my wrongs are washed away", was sung like this, " I know when I am baptized, my ARMS are washed away." At first I had to turn my head and have a little chuckle. Then I explained to her the right word to which she looks at me so funny and says, "My WRONGS????' It was so weird to her. Then I could see the wheels start turning and she asks, "how come when the kids go in that pool thing we can't see their wrongs get washed away in the water?" That was defintely a challenge to explain to her. Then she starts looking at her arms and says, "mom, how come I can't see the wrongs on me because I still have some, right?" Oh it was just so precious. I was loving every minute of it. I could just imagine what she was viewing the wrongs to be..perhaps little bugs..I don't know but it was one of those great mom moments for sure!

History Fair

Carter and Tait entered Southern Utah's history fair a week ago Saturday. Their entry was 3 dimensional so they chose to make a sculpture of George Washington. It was quite the day as it started at 9:30 and we made it there at 9:15 due to the wrong directions. I was sweating there for a while. Then as we entered the gym with the displays we noticed that there were no other 3 dimensional participants, just the typical science fair looking projects. I think the boys were somewhat intimidated. Then when the kind judge came around she commented, "Oh, I didn't know there was a 3 dimensional category." Too funny...there really was because I read the rules. We just had no idea what to expect but the students and judges around us were all very kind. It was a good experience for them...plus an excuse for them to hang out. My favorite part of the George Washington sculpture is his hair. I thought it was pretty well done for their age. Way to go guys!

Bear Badge

Carter received his "Bear" badge over a week ago at the Blue and Gold Banquet. He is so conscientious in keeping up with the requirements..what a little man. I love this boy for always choosing the right path. Congratulations Carter!
The theme was sports oriented with baseball decor. The boys helped in that department in displaying their pictures and "likes" on their baseballs.

Evey's World

I have been wanting to do a post on our little Evey for a very long time. The first year goes by so quickly yet at the same time there is so much change that goes on. These photos capture her from age 10 months-now(14 months). She is such a delight in our home and we enjoy her every move. I love how her siblings dote over her. Everything she does is wonderful and we're so happy to have her as our caboose. She is just perfect in every way! Here is what we love about Evey:
Her features:

blue eyes

wonderful smile

Her many faces:

Her Firsts (as of late):

first steps(started walking at 13 months)

reading on her own
climbing

Her loves:

the piano

bath time

food
laundry baskets

drinking from a straw

"blankie"

Evey's 1 year check up was late. I took her in when she just turned 14 months. She weighed 23 pounds (63%ile) and was 32" tall (95%ile). It's bitter-sweet to see her grow. She is as healthy as ever to which we are most thankful! Oh..and she currently has 14 teeth..chow down!

She has also added to her list of vocabulary: here-u-go (she'll hand me something and say this)
0wee (I showed her the needle marks in her leg and
even though the marks have disappeared
she still says the word when she says her
bare leg or any one elses)
Hiee (Hi) she'll say this to anyone when she is in the mood
Ka-ka (Carter)

I'm sure there are many more I'm forgetting..I'll have to add to it later. So thanks for viewing this very long post on our Evey. I just don't want to miss a single moment!!!
