Oh, my giddy aunt!

I cannot believe it, but the weather for the first half of this day was actually slightly cool! A bit of humidity was hanging in the air, but it's so very windy today that it wasn't so bad.

The fall (and winter) season likes to skip us, and when a "fall-ish" type of day finally comes around it's only here in the morning.... and not everyday. Same thing for the winter. I would imagine our beautiful weather today is what summer feels like in most places, but it was LOVELY while it lasted.

I'm still thrilled beyond measure that the triple digit temperatures are over with. Also that we FINALLY received rain recently, and twice! (This drought has been going on since April by the way. The worst since 1917? I think that's right. Thank God for air conditioning and no hurricane aftermaths so far).

And just FYI - I have the answer to bringing rain now.

Indian rain dance? Bah! Putting up a sign on the side of the road that reads "Pray for Rain?" Wrong-O! (We really did see that a few months back, out near our land in La Grange).

But no, what you do is put out all your outdoor Halloween decorations, and in the middle of the night a lovely... and I don't say that in a tongue-in-cheek kind of way.... gully washer of a rainstorm with high winds will come around. Your flying ghost, pumpkins, witchy hats and brooms will be ruined, but by God the drought will be sent some much needed relief.

I took this picture on our 2008 trip to Disney World. That was the first year (of two in a row) that Mom and I went to Disney alone, to celebrate her birthday.

If we vacationed there again this year, we would have been there RIGHT NOW! Her birthday is tomorrow. We have so much fun together at Disney, too. We travel really well together.

We would have stayed at The Wilderness Lodge again, too. Below is a favorite picture of mine that I took there at the boat dock one morning. I LOVE this hotel!!!!

And tonight we would have had tickets to MNSSHP!
