"Mawage is wot bwings us togeder tooday..."

I think this is gonna have to be a Netflix night. The Royal Wedding reminds me of the Energizer Bunny. It just keeps going... and going... and going.

My mother was watching it earlier, during Repeat # 1 or 2, so I joined her for a bit. I must be a strange one, because these are the things I noticed through watching it off and on:

- The blue and red colors in the cathedral reminded me of Beauty and the Beast. (Which made me want to pop the dvd in the BluRay player post-haste).

- Seeing actual trees inside a church was just strange. At that point, I felt London was another planet.

- Hymns are very l-o-n-g and there are a lot of them.

- The hats the ladies wore were really hilarious. Their mirrors must be fun house mirrors, because I'd never even pick those hats up at the store.

I'm pretty sure I would just point and laugh.

- When I saw the ferris wheel before a commercial break, it made me think of Doctor Who.

- Westminster Cathedral is massive. It looks as big as Tomorrowland at Disney World! Those people must have burned a lot of calories just by walking down that aisle alone.

- Kate's father must have been freaking out. I mean, his daughter is the future, flippin' Queen of England. He had to have been nervous around all those people and cameras.

- This wedding was l-o-n-g. I hope everyone went to the bathroom before they left and didn't have a second cup of coffee.

Okay, tea.

- They had some awesome camera angles inside that cathedral! That's what kept me watching from time to time.

That, and the horses. (I'm serious here, too. I LOVED those horses).

- Prince Harry looks like quite the rascal. His smile looks incredibly mischievious. I hear he's sort of a bad boy, so I guess that's why I like his energy? Lol!

On the other hand, Prince William reminds me so much of his mother. His mannerisms mirror her a lot.

- Just HOW MUCH did that wedding and receptions end up costing? I can't imagine.

- I don't envy the frou-frou, stressful life Kate will have from now on. How could the girl possibly relax even in her own home? I swear I'd go mad.... pray to be abducted by aliens... ANYTHING to get out from under that microscope. I can't imagine any man being worth that, so I do wish her luck. It'll never last if they don't love one another like mad.

- When I saw the priest, I couldn't help thinking of The Princess Bride.

"Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us togeder tooday. Mawage, that bwessed awangment, that dweam wifin a dweam. And wuv, tru wuv, will fowow you foweva."

Photobucket
- This is supposed to be William and Kate's day, but in the middle of the service everyone has to pay homage to the Queen via 'God Save the Queen.' I may not be into weddings, but I do know that - Queen or not - NO GIRL'S big day should have an intermission for their grandmother-in-law.

- Kate's sister has it made. She gets all the perks without the pressure.

- There was a little blond boy there, and he was TOO FREAKIN' CUTE FOR WORDS! He was having the time of his life. Lol!

- There were a few Disney moments: The cathedral... the coachmen.... the prince and his princess riding in a carriage pulled by white horses... all the formal costumes the men wore... the coach which the Queen rode in. (I loved the crown on the roof of it).... the church bells ringing (also reminiscent of 'Beauty and the Beast' to me)... and most important of all I saw DRIZELLA and ANASTASIA!

Photobucket

I don't know their names. I think it's Beatrice and Eugenie? All I know is I saw them sitting inside the church, and INSTANTLY it was like seeing two Disney cast members.

- My mother made an interesting observation today.

"God Save the Queen."

That old woman must be so tired of hearing that song. Mom says that song has followed the queen almost all her life, so surely it's like another appendage to her.

Mom thinks it would drive the woman crazy hearing it so much, but I think that by now surely she's tuned it out?

All I know is that it's been in MY head all day, and already I'm sick of it.

- Loved those trumpets kind of near the end, before they left the church. It sounded so surreal and like I was witnessing another era. It didn't last but a few seconds, but it was awesome.

Okay, I cannot believe I babbled so much about The Royal Wedding because I really could care less. It's just that it's EVERYWHERE.

I told Mom earlier that the commercials for the dvd to buy of the wedding will start hounding us pretty soon.

I kid you not, but a few minutes later Mom opened her email and saw an ad for that very thing. Lol!

Well, anyway... the bride looked beautiful and just like a fairytale. I think her sister - they look a lot alike, don't they? - did a great job as maid of honor. I can't even begin to imagine how nervous they all were today.

And I'm sure Princess Diana was there. I didn't follow her life or anything, but it was easy to see that she was a good person that really cared for people. I just know she was at her son's wedding today. I know it, and I hope those boys felt her presence. It had to have been a bittersweet day for William most especially.

Since the new season of Doctor Who begins Saturday, I think I'm gonna travel back in time today via Netflix to see my most favorite doctor of all. TEN!

One of my very first Doctor Who episodes was "The Girl in the Fireplace." Even though I have a lot of favorite episodes from Tennant's seasons, I think this particular one will always be near the top. I love everything about it. It's romantic, it's sweet, it's funny and sad.

Below, I'll just post a few random scenes. The entire episode is on YouTube of course, but it's 1,000 times better on Netflix as on YT there are some glitches and random words cut out for some reason.

Just FYI - Keep in mind that the person who uploaded the first clip reversed the credits; copyright issues.

Speaking of doctors, while being sick my mother has lost her mind. She's been hacking up what I can only presume is a lung, and has pretty much lost her voice.

Yet I just found her MOWING THE GRASS. She did this yesterday, on a small strip of the yard, but now she's mowing the front and back.

From now on I'm keeping my mouth shut because when I tell her how unwise it is to be mowing the grass with her horrible cough and allergies, she just informs me that I'm bossy.

She calls it bossy, but I call it common sense. Just because some medicine she's taking is FINALLY beginning to work, that doesn't mean she's well enough to climb Mount Everest.

Just the other day she did this. She says she's feeling better, so she goes to Target, Best Buy, etc. I told her then that it was a bad idea as her resistance is low right now. But, does she listen to me?

Noooo. She just tells me I'm being bossy.

Now, the term she forgot to add with "bossy" was CORRECT. The bossy daughter was right because the next day she got even sicker.

And now she's repeating history because she's mowing the freakin' grass.

- Happy Birthday, Anne!
(Not that she even knows about this blog).

- Our agent doesn't know yet that Mom is taking the house off the market, but you wouldn't believe the email Mom received from her the other day. Here's what she wrote, and keep in mind the letter itself was addressed to Mom personally:

Are you still thinking about selling your home? If so, I would appreciate the opportunity to earn your business. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

Best regards,

I understood from the start it was an automated email, but considering the mistakes she's made this only makes you question her competence all over again.

Not that it matters at all now, with Mom taking the house off the market.

- Mom is really sick right now. Last night her temperature was 102.8, and that was after taking 4 Advil for it. Who knows how high it was before that.

She still feels bad today, but at least the fever has broken.

Disney Challenge

Photobucket
I found these questions on Facebook recently, and then on another site.

I think I’m gonna have to cheat a bit though, because how could I possibly narrow each answer down to just one favorite?

Not possible.

Photobucket

Your favorite character

The Beast (sexy with a capital S)…. Belle (fellow bookworm feeling out of place and different from everyone around her)…. Ariel (because we all need an escape from the confines of our own little world and should be so adventurous)… Jasmine (independent thinker way ahead of her time).

I think I’ll stop there, else I’ll add practically every Disney character ever created.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite princess

Belle, although technically she wasn’t a princess until she married that sexy beast.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite heroine

I will try narrowing it down to one here, so I’ll just say Belle.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite prince

The Beast of course, followed by a tie between Aladdin and Eric.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite hero

The Beast again.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite animal

NANA from Peter Pan. I love Nana!!! (She also reminds me of a dog we used to have named “Bambi.”) I love her so much that I even have a Nana doll that I found at an antique store a long time ago, and this past Christmas I was given a Nana figurine. It's so hard finding Nana related memorabilia.

I also really like "Bruno” and the little birds from Cinderella.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite sidekick

Jiminy Cricket… Jaq and Gus… Scuttle… Zazu . (And I really thought I was going to hate Zazu since I‘m not a fan of the actor that does his voice. But honestly, Zazu had some funny lines: “I‘m so ticked off that I‘m molting!” Lol!)

The Genie from Aladdin was the same thing as Zazu for me. I thought Robin William’s voice would be distracting, but I was so surprised at how perfectly he fit into that role.

And even though she really isn‘t a sidekick, I love “Big Mama” from The Fox and the Hound. The same also goes for Flora, Fauna & Merryweather in Sleeping Beauty.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite villain

I think I’ll narrow it down to Scar. He was one EVIL villain, and I have a fascination with lions anyway.

Oops.. I have to add Ursula as well. Actually, I think she’s my favorite. I love her voice and all that sass mixed in with her evil ways. She’s definitely different from other Disney villains.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite original character (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, etc.)

Honestly, I love them all pretty equally but I’ve always been a fan of Donald Duck’s temper.

Chip and Dale are cute, too.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite song

I have several from the cartoons, but my favorite Disney movie song is “Candle on the Water” from Pete’s Dragon.

Now, I also love a few of the songs from a lesser known Disney flick….Robin Hood. Those songs would be “Whistle Stop” and “Oo De Lally.”

Ooh, and “Stay Awake” from Mary Poppins. That was just one of the Disney songs I used to sing to my niece when she was a newborn.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite love song

I like a few, but I think I’ll have to go with “Something There” and “Kiss the Girl.”

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite villain song

Off the top of my head, “Be Prepared” from The Lion King.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your least favorite song

Whatever the so-called villain sang in Pocahontas.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite kiss

Belle and her prince, of course.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

The first movie you saw

I can’t recall my first Disney flick, but I do remember being a kid and loving “A Spaceman in King Arthur’s Court.” (Today, it’s renamed “The Unidentified Flying Oddball” and is finally on dvd).

I also recall enjoying “The Cat from Outer Space” as a kid.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite classic

"Cinderella" for a cartoon.

"Summer Magic," "Thomasina," and "Pollyanna" for a movie.

Also MICKEY’S CHRISTMAS CAROL!!!!!!!! Goodness, how I love love LOVE that movie! I even adore the song they play in the beginning.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your least favorite classic

Dumbo (too sad in parts), or Pinocchio (although I do love Geppetto and Jiminy Cricket).

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite Pixar film

Wall-E!!!! OMG, how I love him!!!!

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your least favorite Pixar film

Of the Pixar films I’ve seen, I guess I’d have to say “Up.” It was just too sad.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Favorite sequel

I tend to stay away from the sequels, but when my niece was little she had me watch the sequel to The Little Mermaid. As sequels go, it wasn’t too bad.

Return to Neverland was okay, but I didn’t love it.

Out of sheer boredom, I watched some Cinderella sequel on YouTube one night. It also was okay, but forgettable.

Oh, wait! I think Beauty and the Beast’s “Enchanted Christmas” was pretty good. It had it’s flaws, but as sequels go I loved it. I watch it every Christmastime.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

An overrated movie

I can think of a couple, but I guess “The Princess and the Frog.” This movie started out fantastic, and I loved the artwork, but then the songs kept coming and coming and coming. Eventually, I fast forwarded through most of it because I was so annoyed.

I think I have to go with “Alice in Wonderland” here, too. I WANT to love this movie, but it always bores me. I also find it distracting hearing Wendy Darling’s voice on a blonde that falls down rabbit holes.

Oh! And all those stupid new Tinkerbell cartoons. TINKERBELL IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE A VOICE!!!! Her “voice” is supposed to be the TINKLING OF BELLS… hence her name, TINKER… BELL!

Sorry, but Gaaaah!!!!! Disney was so stupid for wrecking such a classic character. Next thing we know, Tink will probably become some disgraceful tomboy that raps and does beat box.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

An underrated movie

Hmm… maybe Pocahontas? I only own the movie on vhs, which means I never watch it, and while I thought the villain and artwork was weak it really is a nice little movie. Some of those songs on there really stuck with me, too.

I also must include Pete’s Dragon, The Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood, The Jungle Book, Toby Tyler, and That Darn Cat.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

A movie that makes you laugh

I can’t really think of a LOL Disney movie just now, but off the top of my head I guess “A Spaceman in King Arthur’s Court.”

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

A movie that makes you cry

Parts of “The Fox and the Hound” and “Dumbo.” Also “Lady and the Tramp.”

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite scene from your favorite movie

Not my favorite movie, but the Substitutiary Locomotion Battle in “Bedknobs and Broomsticks.”

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Saddest death

Tie between Mufasa and Bambi’s mother.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite quote

I’ll stick to quotes from Walt Disney himself:

- “There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate's loot on Treasure Island.”

- “We allow no geniuses around our Studio.”

- “I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse.”

- “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.”

- “A man should never neglect his family for business.”

- “Mickey Mouse popped out of my mind onto a drawing pad 20 years ago on a train ride from Manhattan to Hollywood at a time when business fortunes of my brother Roy and myself were at lowest ebb and disaster seemed right around the corner.”

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite theme park

The Magic Kingdom will always be #1.

My second favorite is Hollywood Studios, which I still call MGM out of habit and because it just feels right.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite theme attraction

I have to say that The “Peter Pan” ride is wonderful because it feels so much like the movie… classic, ya know?…. but my absolute favorites would have to be “The Haunted Mansion” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

“Star Tours” is awesome as well. I’m curious to see the updated ride once it’s finished, although I’m not exactly thrilled about it being 3D.

But narrowing it down… “The Haunted Mansion,” hands down. I definitely ride that attraction the most while at Disney World; 8 or 10 times usually.

*~*~*~ ♥ ~*~*~*

Your favorite theme park show

I don’t really care for the shows, but the "Villain’s Mix and Mingle” from MNSSHP is okay.

------------

Well, that's it Mousketeers. See ya real soon!
