“With gloves on and blade in my hand, I proceed to do what I always do, but this time my mind doesn’t have the clarity it usually has during those moments. Instead, Ella appears, and I dwell on her reaction once she sees his dead body. My ‘welcome to the team’ gift.”
I really enjoyed this one. I think I liked the first part more where we learn about Ella and her past and I think the whole FBI deal was super interesting and fun. It reminded me a bit of the Mindf*ck Series by S.T. Abby. It’s not the same but it gave me the same vibes, although this one is not a romance. Or at least, I wouldn’t consider it a romance because I saw it more as a guy who has a lot of trauma and meets a woman that’s his victim/lover. It was interesting, the psych part, to see inside his brain and his POV it was super interesting.
It is marketed as a thriller romance and it is a thriller, but like I said before I don’t consider it a romance per se.I guessed who the killer was, but at times it kind of threw me off and made me doubt which made me stay focused and into the story. I was super hooked since the very beginning because, I don’t know, it was just very interesting.
It kinda lost me a bit in the second half, mostly because we lost the second characters and it was just the main two. It felt dragged and a bit boring. I liked learning about the Psychopath’s past, though. I usually don’t like short epilogues, but it felt fitting cause I wasn’t here for the romance.
There was a scene were I’m pretty sure the Psychopath sexually abused Ella, but she later says he didn’t… I think this is a trauma response, because she didn’t want it, and once again, that’s why I don’t see it as a romance. It can also be viewed as a romanticized toxic abusive relationship, but if you take out the romance lenses, it’s more like a thriller trauma-heavy story. It was fun.
It’s my first book by this author, and I definitely will read more...more

OMG YES! This was really really good. To be honest, when I started this I wasn’t sure I was going to like it because I’m not a fan of abductio4.5 ⭐️⭐️
OMG YES! This was really really good. To be honest, when I started this I wasn’t sure I was going to like it because I’m not a fan of abduction romance but damn this had a good story. There wasn’t a moment where I didn’t feel sad or didn’t love Valentin. I could never really hate him because I knew what was going on. When I was inside Zoya’s mind I was troubled and confused as to why she would love him. But she did a great job at explaining it to me and making me understand that sometimes things just are the way they are. They’re fucked up? yes, but it’s their reality and their circumstances that made them accept, embrace and love what they had. I adored them both. Anri has come a loooong way in everyone’s hearts, I would’ve never thought that the guy from the first book would be this important to me or that he would be this big of a deal in the next books. I miss him and I’m so so sad he’s not here now. The siblings reunion was so heartbreaking and beautiful. They’ve been through so much. I absolutely love that we have Luka’s POVs, they just give me more perspective and has made me love everyone. I can tell now the differences between each couple and each women. This was a great book to the series and just a great book!! It has me soooo excited for the next and final one!...more

TW: This book and the whole series deals with child abuse, rape, everything you can think of and more. There’s lots of violence (cutting, mutilation, murder) and torture scenes. This is dark dark very dark romance.
Goddamn. I fcking ADORE this book. It consumes me every time. Flame and Maddie's love is one of the purest ones I have ever read. If not THE purest one. It's just so innocent and true. The way they both find happiness in each other and make peace with their past it's wonderful to see. I cry everytime. Honestly, this book it's tough. What they both had to endure it's so so painful to watch. My heart broke a thousand times.
Here, we don't only get Flame and Maddie's beautiful and heartbreaking journey. We meet my boys Lil'Ash and Slash. We get to see the moment where Rider finally realizes what's been going on. We get more of the other two couples. And we get the psycho trio scenes. Which are my favorite. This book is so amazing. It's character driven, there isn't much action. And it's perfect, it's exactly what Maddie and Flame needed. She's so fcking strong. And Flame, too. I cried a lot cause I already read My Maddie and I remembered everything and my heart just dropped. But I'm glad they're happy and in peace right now. I'm glad they aren't going to be bothered for the next few days while I read the next ones... they deserve the break.
I can't really say more. I'm truly speechless. I always had trouble talking about this book and these people cause it's just too much feelings. I feel so much for them. This book makes me feel EVERYTHING and reminds me why I read.
I love this so much. I love them so much.
This book means a lot to me. When I read it the first time, I decided Tillie was my girl and that this series was going to be one of my favorites. And 2 years later, that still stands. ...more
