I'm not an avid Fantasy reader. It's hard for me to review this without giving too much away. There are so many details in these books, sometimes my head is spinning with them.
I will say that I love the dragons though. And I'll probably pick up the third book when it comes out due to the fact that I'm sort of invested in these characters. And the events that happened in the end has definitely left me curious.
My true rating is a 3.5 star. Not being a fantasy reader, I actually really enjoyed this book.

There are so many details to a fantasy, it's hard to break it down. I loved Violet though. She is our main protagonist. Once I take to a character, I'm in. There is a rivalry between her and Xayden, who I also loved, that turned into a super hot romance. And there are dragons! Which I surprisingly loved most about this book. The banter between the human and their dragon was hilarious.

I loved Malik's back story. I wasn't upset about the tentacle play either. Things got a little over the top for me, though, as we got to the end of the story. The last few books in this series have had extreme and very long sex scenes, but this one took the cake. I actually ended up skipping over most of the ending because I just couldn't take the ridiculousness of what was taking place.
Malik and Sebastian's first encounter doesn't go so well, but they meet again when Sebastian is on the run and takes refuge with Malik. Sebastian has a very interesting back story as well. I loved both our characters and I even loved them together. But I found that all the sex and especially the....hhhmmm...how should I say this without giving anything away. We'll call it the "orgasmic fertilizing of eggs". It was just too much for me.
With all that said, I still adore Malik and Sebastian's story. Aramis Jordan is a fantastic author and really knows how to tell a story. And I also want to thank Aramis for gifting me with the ARC copies of these books. They have definitely opened me up to new things when it comes to the mm romance genre. ...more

This is Luis and Zade's story. Which I was really excited about. I'm a fan of age gap tropes so I loved the difference between the two characters. I also loved how Luis took to Zade right away.
Zade's past has given him the reputation of a dangerous merman. I would have liked a little more on this topic, but we do get the just of what may have happened. Luis is in his forties and he is known as a ladies man. Love 'em and leave 'em type. No one has ever sparked his interest of being in a relationship. And he is content. Until Zade pulls him into his clutches when their ship is lured in by Zade and his mermen friends.
Great story telling here. I loved the intense connection between Luis and Zade. I loved the adventure we get in this book. I would have liked more on the Merman King, but I think we'll get that story very soon...more

I was excited to read about a little slice of Wolf or Caine. He has so many names. We meet Wolf in The Thirds series. And even though he didn't start out as a favorite, he became one as Charlie Cochet worked her magic of story telling. This story shows a softer side of Wolf, which I know from reading The Thirds, is buried deep but likes to shot itself every so often.
Sean is Wolf's dead partner's brother. Sean knows Wolf as Caine from his years working with his brother. He invites Caine over for Christmas. It's not drawn out in the novella, but you get the sense that Sean was always interested in Caine.
I don't want to give too much away. And this is such a short read. But we have some hot sexy time between these two. As well as some action. Because it wouldn't be TIN without the action. And of course Dex and Sloan make an appearance. I love those guys! Always will. ...more

Trusting him a little more. And how Damen was so drawn to Laurent. Their relationship deepens in this second book and let me just tell you that it was worth the wait.
Of course the ending leaves us hanging on. So I'm starting the third and final book now. I must know how this all goes down. Will their relationship withstand as all the truths come out between Damen and Laurent? ...more

I thought Arian and Fernando were hot together, but after reading this book, Kristian and Tarlis lit up the pages. Love Love Love this story!!
This is the second book in a paranormal/fantasy mm romance with some BDSM. And I thoroughly enjoyed every word I read. It's based in the 1700's. Merman are known to seduce sailors with their song and play with them for days. Giving them pleasure after pleasure. It can be read alone, but I highly recommend the first book, Escaping the Merman, to fully enjoy the experience. We vaguely meet Kristian and Tarlis in the first book as well. Tarlis is part of Arian's group of Merman friends. And Kristian is the Captain of Fernando's ship. We get a more detailed story of how the Merman lure in the sailors in the first book, but you get the idea in the beginning of this book. We go back to when the Merman sang there lustful song. And this time we get Kristian and Tarlis's story. I love a good hate to love story and this one doesn't disappoint. Kristian hates and loves what Tarlis did to him while he was captured. So much so, he seeks him out for revenge. But is it really revenge when both he and Tarlis want each other so badly they despise each other.
I won't say anymore, but just know that this story contains lost of hot, panty melting sex. I also felt that the plot and story itself was enjoyable as well. I didn't want to put it down. Dare I say I like it better than the first book. ...more

I was surprisinglThank you to author Aramis Jordan for reaching out to me and gifting me with an ARC of this super steamy and fun story about Mermen. I was surprisingly fascinated with it.
Arian is a merman. He and his friends live on this secluded island where they wait for sailors to pass by so they can lure them in and play with them. Arian and his friends are not dangerous like the legends say. But they do suffer the curse of being constantly aroused with no release. Their only pleasure is giving pleasure to men.
Fernando is a rich, handsome sailor and business man. He and his crew happen upon Arian and his friends while being chased by Pirates. The song of the mermen lure Fernando and some of his crew into their nest. Once he is captured, Fernando does everything to deny his attraction to the beautiful creature. Besides, he's straight. It must be the curse. But when something goes wrong and Fernando is forced to leave Arian after being his sexual captive, his feelings toward this creature can not be denied.
I've never read a MM Fantasy Romance and I'm so glad I stepped into this sub-genre. The world created around this story was fascinating. And I fell in love with the characters right away. I will say that if you are not a fan of lots of hot and steamy sex scenes, then this may not be for you. Otherwise, I highly recommend giving this gem a read.
Now I'm craving more! Hopefully we'll get to meet the other sailors and mermen in this series....more

There are a few different story lines in this one. Of course, Simon and Baz are at the top. Love these two. Simon feels like he is more of a burden to his friends in this one. And he finally accepts the fact that Baz loves him no matter what. There are also others claiming to be 'The Chosen One'. So Simon and Baz of course look into this non sense.
Shepard is back from the second book. He and Penelope embark on trying to rid Shepard of his accidental demon summons. That resulted in some mysterious tattoos. And a marriage proposal?
And Agatha finds love in goat farming. Among other things.
I was highly entertained. And I felt like I got what I was hoping for in this last book.

Linus Baker is a case worker for the Department in Charge of Magical Youth. He goes around to orphanages to make sure the children are being treated the way they should be treated. Linus is very good at his job. He is given a highly classified case by Extremely Upper Management. They are claiming the children are very dangerous to themselves and others. These children are kept on a strange island and they are looked after by Arthur Parnassus. Who is the master of the orphanage. But what Linus discovers on this island is not what he was expecting. Especially not the beautiful man that is Mr. Parnassus.
I really did like this story. So so cute. The children at the orphanage had my heart. They are a very different clan and I adored them all. But I lost interest a good bit throughout the book. It took me a while to get into to it as well. My favorite part was learning about the children on the island. And Arthur was a very interesting character too.
The audio was very good. I do recommend listening if you can....more

I really didn't know if I was going to like this being it's historical fantasy. But apothecary stories always intrigue me. Plus I'm a sucker for a beautiful cover.
We have a time line that we follow, which I always love. We go back to 1791 as we follow Nella. Nella owns an Apothecary where she brews up deadly potions for her clients. We also get the side of the story from Eliza. A 12 year old girl who loves and will do anything for her Mistress. Eliza is assigned the task of retrieving the deadly potion that will kill her Mistress's husband. Then we jump to current times as we follow Caroline. Caroline takes a little trip to London where she finds a mysterious apothecary jar. Being the historian that she is, she starts to dig into the files to find out where the bottle came from and its story. Hence Nella and Eliza's story.
It was all just fascinating! I loved the history of the apothecary and how it related to Caroline and her story. There were some fun twist at the end. Magical and real ...more

Addie was born in the late 16oo's. She was born in a time where women were to be married off and produce children. That was the life she was supposed to live. But Addie did not want that life. She prayed to the Gods to save her from such a life. "Never pray to the God's that answer after dark." This is what she was told. But when that is the only God that answers, and you are desperate, you answer back. So there she makes a deal with the God of Darkness. But her deal comes with a curse. For 300 years, Addie lives an invisible life. She doesn't die. She doesn't grow old. But no one remembers her. All whom she meets will forget as soon as they turn their head. Until one day, someone sees her and remembers.
This was such a interesting and magical story! Addie was such a lovable character. I loved the way she left her mark in a world where she was forgotten. We get several different time lines of Addie's life. From when she made her deal with "the Devil" and back to present day. We also get a little POV from the one that remembers her. This character takes us back 1 year ago to present day. And tells us the story of why they remember Addie. Such clever writing. I loved it.

I liked it, but it was just a the story of each one of the Gold children from the time they went to visit the fortune teller who could tell them when they were going to die up to their deaths. And basically how knowing this information formed the course of their lives.
We hear from Simon first. He is the youngest of the children. The Golden boy. The one who was supposed to stay home and run the family business. But knowing when he was going to die, he wanted to make the most out of his life. He wanted to get out there and make his life his own. And being gay, he also wanted to explore that part of his life.
Simon goes away with Klara to San Francisco. As Simon is making something of his life, Klara is struggling. She feels magic in her veins and wants to be a famous magician. Also, knowing when she will die, she does her best to make this happen. She meets a man who helps her with her dream.
Daniel is the eldest son. He becomes an army doctor post 9/11. Before he dies, he wants to connect with Klara's husband and daughter. He lost his chance at connecting with Simon. But he becomes obsessed with him and his siblings dates of death.
Varya is the last sibling we hear from. She has thrown herself into her school and work as a scientist. Someone from her past finds her and changes her life. Makes her look at life differently.

A year has gone by since Rowan and Citra parted ways in the last book. Citra now a year into being a true Scythe. Calling herself Scythe Anastasia. But soon old enemies return spreading corruption throughout the Scthyedom. And going after Citra and her friend and mentor Scthye Curie.
We hear a lot from the Thunder Head in this book. Who are basically the electronic government of these times. The Thunder Head doesn't intervene, they just watch. But with everything going on, is it time for the Thunder Head to take control?
We also hear from a new character, Greyson Tolliver. I fell in love with Greyson and I'm looking forward to seeing how his character evolves in the last book.

The world has evolved. And we are all immortal. Could you imagine? No illness. No pain. You never die. There is no government. Money, food and all your needs are plentiful. But someone or something has to keep the peace and keep the population from getting out of hand. The Scythe was born. A group of men and women who decide your fate. If they decide it is your time, they will "glean" you. Or kill you for a modern day term.
Citra and Rowan are chosen to become apprentice to a Scythe. They are both teenagers and are taken from their families to train to become a Scythe one day. To be a Scythe, you must master the art of taking someone's life. If you don't feel grief, regret or sorrow after a gleaning, you are not fit to be a scythe. If one enjoys the act of gleaning, you are a danger to the scythe world as well as to the human world. But they are out there. The ones who enjoy it and see it as a sport. And just because there is no government, doesn't mean the Scythe world is not corrupted.
As Citra and Rowan train, not only do they get a closer look at being a Scythe, they fall in love with each other. The love between them was not really part of the story, but it was there. They are chosen to compete against each other. The winner has to glean the loser. Who will win? And how do you glean the one that you love?
