I definitely fell in love with Christopher, then a little out, then a lot in love with Sutton and Harper was a pretty cool chick. The characters are multi-faceted, the writing pretty fab. It's compelling, there's heat, drama, romance. Everything i want in a book like this. I was little let down by the end, i wanted... more. But overall it was a really bloody good read. I forget how Skye Warren can rock it.

A good, not fab read. I liked the characters, their ending and their angst.
The first two books were slow paced, with moReview for the complete series.

A mixed bag with this one for sure. I really disliked the stereotypical kind-of-a-bitch bestie and the amount of space she took up, come to think of it, i really did find her obnoxious, and her interfering. I don't know how i felt about Seth, he seemed nice, then bratty and then a little too perfect at the end and lacked depth.
I did love the story, it was one you really couldn't put down. An easy, perfectly written read with feels. The heroine grew to be pretty cool and quirky with an attitude to boot. Her relationship with her brother was a great humourous highlight and her romance was pretty bloody epic.

Despite the 3 stars, i did enjoy this one. LOVE the hook. I just found it a little lacking because the entire storyline was based around one thing, and it made the inner-monologue a little skimmable to me.
I really liked the hero, he was the goodest guy you could get. Perfect. Utterly romantic and in love with the heroine all his life. The heroine... well the fact that she put up with so much s*** from his twin, it really goes against her character, as does (view spoiler)[her stringing him along in regards to confessing about sleeping with his brother, she should've just told him. (hide spoiler)] But i suppose there would be no storyline if it weren't for it, and i'd sympathize with her fiancé too much. Even though i did feel sorry for him at the end, weirdly.
As for the skimmable bits, yeah, it was too much 'i love them, but...' inner-monologue, i tired of it, even though the whole story was based around that concept, it could've done with being shorter.
The book was totally spoilt by the hero. I couldn't stand him. The way he came onto the heroine was all sorts of gross, his choice of words, DNF @ 42%
The book was totally spoilt by the hero. I couldn't stand him. The way he came onto the heroine was all sorts of gross, his choice of words, imo, we not nice at all. If a guy was talking to me like that, i would've kneed him in the balls. And i really don't care if it was all bravado because the rich boy was hurting, because the heroine fell for this version of him too, this obnoxious, man-whore character who dated her sister (ew, ew, ew).
My eyes got tired from their rolling when the first thing i'm reading about is overdone H/h dynamic, the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth from the start and i wasn't given enough mouthwash to get rid of it. Alas, DNF....more

I may have not read this book if I'd known it's content, I bloody hate love-triangles. And this was probably the worst/best I've ever read.
It's clear from the beginning that our heroine, Helena, falls for her best friends boyfriend, with a rippling effect and a long tale of almosts.
I can't stress enough how AWESOME this heroine is. I goddamn loved Helena. She's not only a Harry Potter nerd, but she's inspired by everything, is incredibly neurotic, super funny and totally obsessive. I adored her.
Our hero, Kit, was almost as awesome, he was a beautiful person, but sometimes very stupid. His loyalty often won over his heart, which left me very frustrated with him towards the end.
5 stars because? Our heroine. My angst. My inability to put the book down. Great writing. Funny moments. An unique story. I do wish there was more Kit & Helena time, instead of a whole lot of fleeting moments & goodbyes.

Beat was a good, but not great read for me. I didn't mind the 'love-triangle', it was pretty obvious who the winner would be. I couldn't really care for the heroine, she was normal enough. Halfway through it went all Thoughtless on me though, ie; indecisive heroine and the hero and heroine being morning friends who give in to temptation every so often.
I did, really love the hero, he was sweet, hot, adorable, boyish... all the good things. It was the only thing that really brought it through for me and stopped it from being an average read.
A good, not fab read. I liked the characters, their ending and their angst.

So why is Kellan's POV of 'Thoughtless' called 'Thoughtful'?
“You're not mine.” But I'm yours... “I'm fine, Kiera.” I'm wonderful “Maybe you'll be able to...” Decide if you really want me. “Kiera... I wish...” I wish we'd run away when we had the chance. “I can't...” do this again. “I don't...” want to be hurt again. “I want...” you.
Ohhhhhh, that's why. Huh.
That was actually my biggest pet peeve in this book. It was full of unspoken thoughts and obnoxious over-thinking. I could have happily given it a 4 star if it weren't for this.
I'm very middle of the road with this book. Like Kellan said... “It sucks and it doesn't suck. It's horrible and it's amazing all at the same time. That's what makes it so hard.”
I loved seeing the awesome scenes that I fell in love with in 'Thoughtless' through Kellan's eyes. I enjoyed hearing his heartbreaking torment and frustration. But I preferred seeing Kellan through Kiera's eyes. Not only was he was hotter, but we gradually fell in love with him.
The first half, a little too repetitive, not enough drama. The second half, lots more entertaining, I was loving mean and moody Kellan. I'm glad I read the book for the experience. But I preferred 'Thoughtless'. [image]...more

This has been one of my most favourite serials ever. Seriously.
Now be warned, it features anything and everyfuckingthing. Underage sex, abortion, violence towards women, a love triangle, cheating..... uhhhhh.... taboo relationships, prostitution, drugs.... I'm sure there's more too.

I think this must be my fave installment yet. Kudos to Megan D. for not making us wait forever for the next part... annnnnnnd making this one twice as long as the others.
When I thought it couldn't get any more effed up, it went and punched me in the guts.
Rhett was so much more in this one, he became dark and twisted in his love for Faye. He gave us all he had and I loved him for it. His emotions were so prominent and he was so confused. I hope to god they get a happy ever after or I'm going to bawl like a baby.

When Greta sees her new Stepbrother for the first time, she can't help but be overwhelmed with lust.... That is, until he opens his mouth.
Living with him in such close quarters proves quite the challenge, Elec is a man-whoring, smoking (in more ways that one), tatted asshole that just loves to get under her skin. But she still wishes he'd get in her pants.
Unfortunately Elec is definitely more than what's on the surface, and soon Greta starts to fall for her broken, talented, foul-mouthed Stepbrother.
He was my dream and in every other way, my nightmare.
'Stepbrother Dearest' is a really hard book for me to rate. I'm so conflicted (much like Elec was towards Greta)...
It was one of those books where I wished I could have changed it around and made it a better read for me. I really loved the beginning. I loved the push and pull, the banter, the insults, the innuendoes... Elec's filthy and insulting mouth.
Most of the time Elec was one of those asshole heroes that says and does something awesome, or shows you the most vulnerable part of him. Making you fall for him harder.
But it didn't last long. I found myself peeved at the jealousy overload, which increased in volume throughout the book and found myself in the middle of a FMF love-triangle. There was one part that really pushed my hard-limits; (view spoiler)[the part where after lusting over Greta, Elec pounces on his girlfriend and thinks of Greta, thought not descriptive, I had to hear that he did this - four times. (hide spoiler)]
The fact that Elec likes her because she's 'pretty/hot' and 'understands the real him' wasn't enough for me.
I wished he'd fallen for her as a person... There were also times when I felt that Greta needed some self-respect.
At 66% there was a whole 20% of the book dedicated to Elec's POV. It was a repetition of all the major scenes in the book. It was very much unneeded, you only had to read between the lines to know what was going on in Elec's head.
I started liking again towards the last 20%. The sex was hot... Elec could say the most wonderful things and I really liked the conclusion.
My 3 stars this time isn't for 'an average read', it's for a read that was equal parts - really good and turn-offable.

Cruz and Sloane have been friends for years, but when Sloane starts to fall for Adam, jealousy rears it's ugly head and Cruz realises he's in love with her, and has been forever.

'The Summer We Fell' is a quick read with a lovely sweet romance, friends to lovers storyline and a love triangle.
I love friends to lovers storylines, this one was great. I really enjoyed the easy and caring relationship Cruz and Sloane had.
I felt a little bad for Adam though, his life was changing for the worse, I wish the author would give him a book so that I can see him happy.
I'm also glad the author didn't 'go there' with Tara, if it was a NA book, I’m sure it would have.
Lastly, I would have liked to have seen the two consummate their relationship. Even if it wasn't descriptive, it would have been nice to have seen, there was some sexual chemistry going on, so I was surprised they didn't. If they did, then I would have knocked this up to a 4 star.
Look forward to reading more from the author. [image]...more

After spitting up with her boyfriend Blake for the umpteenth time, soon-to-graduating Ettie randomly stops at a bar only to find the handsome 42 year old farmer/cowboy Wyatt.
'Here he was, grown up, no wife, a son who was old enough to take care of himself... and fun had landed in his lap.'
After spending an almost magical weekend together, Wyatt rejects Ettie because he can't control the grief he feels for his deceased wife. They seperate and have to face the real world.
But when Wyatt and Ettie find out they have Blake in common, things go a little awry.
I really loved Ettie. Ettie's mother suffered from extreme paranoia and she trapped her at home, homeschooled her. She never got to experience a lot of things. It made her very endearing, life loving, fun, adventurous and child-like, much to Blake's dismay.
A lot of the book is overwhelming with Wyatt's catastrophic grief. He was literally paralysed with it.
“Why can't you just take what I have to give?” I jumped to my feet. “Because I'm twenty-two years old and I deserve to have a man all to myself. I deserve to have everything I want out of a relationship. So like I said, fuck you Wyatt!”
Yep, Ettie's a feisty one too. I had a girl crush on her.
I wanted more backstory on Ettie, the story only lightly touched the surface on what she went through, and never really told us of the horrible encounters that it hinted at. The writing was good, not great. No mistakes that I noticed, and lots of depth, but it needed to be a little less simplistic.
Wyatt was pretty lovely too. He felt too much and was so lost. My heart went out to him.
'It hit me just how far out of my reach this guy was. If he'd spent his whole life with this woman, if he never existed in a world where she wasn't part of him, then who was he?'
Lovable characters, a story that made me feel and the love-triangle, made me give 'Without You Here' 4 solid stars.

I loved Brant, and I loved Lee, I loved them both, and so did she.
Brant. Genius. Romantic. Philanthropist.
I loved that he was different than the men of my past. He didn't have the cloak of aristocracy, didn't care enough to be aloof, snooty, could care less if we played by society's rules or wrote our own.
Lee. Dirty. Rough. Aggressive.
He was sexual and frank, yet secretive. Cocky, with a hint of vulnerability... He showed disdain and attraction for me all at one time, and acted as if it was completely normal.
'Black Lies' was pretty excellent, well written, atmospheric with a touch of darkness.
I admit, it was a little hard to get into the swing of things, the upper-class lifestyle and inner-monologue took some time to get into. But don't get me wrong, the characters are not pretentious.
I loved discovering more about Brant and Lee and how far Lana would go for them both. She was confident, intelligent with a heart of gold.
Alessandra Torre definitely stepped up her game with this one. And if it weren't for the aesthetics in the book, it could almost be called gritty. The end was great also.
I can't say too much about the story, I promise, it's so much more than what you think it will be. Take my advice, and go for it. [image]...more

Lucas 'I am not a whore' Carter, gives a whole new meaning to the term 'raging hard-on'.

'People don't pay me for sex. They pay me for the chance to visit with the demon, to find themselves in the arms of a dark God... I take money in exchange for services rendered. I revel in the taboo and I indulge in the darkness... I've found a way to enjoy what I am. Sex. Violence. Both. I like it, and I've learned how to live with it. It's easier than learning to live without her.'
I really like Lucas, he is incredibly anal about the little things, then blaise about the major. He's a total Psychopath but incredibly entertaining. I loved the writing, the wit and the sheer craziness of it all.
'Taboo Unchained' revolves around the depth of Lucas' personality, his evolution and the clusterfuck situation he finds himself with his Harem.
'I taste the blackness and i fuck out the light. I will teach you to turn the filthy, the nasty, the most putrid parts of your soul into sheer bliss, into an addiction you can't shake instead of a miserable, stilted, blighted existence.'
'Taboo Unchained' contains: Sexual violence. Extremely depraved sexual acts. Blood letting/play. Full-on FMF love-triangle. Violence. Death/murder/grief. Knife play. Abused characters. A Psychopath in a suit. A Machete. And more... ...more
