It's still a solid 4 star, mostly because I just enjoyed the whole setting and the talk about the different romance books and the town. I liked the magical realism aspect a lot as well. The romance wasn't the best for me, it was just okay in my opinion....more

This book didn't blow me away, but it was enjoyable. I liked the main character and liked some of the worldbuilding, though some of it felt very flimsy too (old gods and new gods is really what they call them?) I liked Divine Rivals, though I didn't love it as much as some people did. Still, I liked it enough to pick up the sequel fairly quickly, and it was just... boring to me. I couldn't get into it. The author seemed to attempt to do the whole letter-writing thing again, but it fell flat to me. The actual plot was also just... boring, it's been about a week and I've already forgotten what happened.
I think this would have worked better as a standalone for me personally. ...more

I will definitely read the final book in the series. I keep thinking/hoping there is setup for a romantic relationship between Lancelot and Guinevere, as the story sometimes seems to hint at it, but then it's also being built up for Lancelot and Mordred. It won't really affect my enjoyment too much, but I think a sapphic romance would be fun. ...more

I enjoyed the translation to the modern setting and enjoyed the way it was written, but there was something about the romance that put me off a bit. I can't remember the same happening when I read the original, though that may have been because of the time that one was set in. I feel like this book could have updated the dynamic between Emma and Knightley a bit more, while still keeping the general tone of it.

The short format of these books is very unique about this series and it seems to suit the stories pretty well.
