I am a graduate in the field of Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Child
Development and Family Relations. As a Vance County School Employee for 17 years, I am
excited about the possibility of working in another school. I have been working in the school
system which has afforded me the opportunity to interact with individuals of all ages, families of
different statutes, and be involved in a variety of diverse situations. My past work experience,
strong people skills, and dedication I feel makes me a great candidate for the position as
Guidance Counselor at Northern Vance High School.
Currently I am working as a T.A. at E. O. Young Jr. Elementary School. However, I have
furthered my education in order to be considered for the position. The best part about this job is
that I am constantly interacting with students as I have a passion for helping them, and I love
assisting them in finding the education choices that best fit their needs. In doing so, my
involvement has resulted in positive outcomes on numerous occasions. Of course, there are
always some students with difficult demands and problems, but I view these as exciting
challenges. I treat every person with respect and always try my best to find a solution that
satisfies the students. I feel that I can take this experience and bring these skills to the counseling
job.
I know that Northern Vance will benefit from my positive attitude, patience and problem-solving
skills. I have no doubt, that I am the person you are looking for to join your team. Not only am I
a team player, however I also have a positive attitude and an inner spirit of love and humility for
