Before you begin…

These ears will fit all of the dolls depending on how big or small you want them to be! Simply use
the same yarn and hook size that you used to make the doll and choose the ear that suits the
project you are working on.
You can find all of my doll patterns plus lots of hair and clothing/outfit patterns here.
Useful info for those who crochet left handed
Please take a look at this site for hints and tips about following crochet patterns if you are left
handed.
Which yarns did I use for my doll and clothing?
Not a recommendation as such, it’s just because I get asked this a lot. We don’t have much
choice here in the UK yarn wise, Stylecraft Special and Paintbox acrylic yarn are my absolute
favourite brands though, lovely to work with and reasonably priced ☺

Terminology: US Abbreviations
Chain (ch)
Other items needed:
Double Crochet (dc)
NA
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Magic ring (MR)
Single Crochet (sc)
Slip Stitch (sl st)

questions such as ‘What type of yarn and hook size should I
use?’ & ‘Where can I find a tutorial for crochet eyes?’
Pattern Start
Small Ear – make 2
Rnd 1: Leaving a long starting tail, MR, ch1 (not a st),
work 6sc, pull the MR closed BUT do not sl st to join -
this makes a semi-circle. Hide the fastening off tail
behind the ear and then use the long starting tail to sew
the flat edge of the ear onto the side of the doll’s head.

Medium Ear – make 2

Rnd 1: Leaving a long starting tail, MR, ch1 (not a st),
work 6hdc, pull the MR closed BUT do not sl st to join
- this makes a semi-circle. Hide the fastening off tail
behind the ear and then use the long starting tail to sew
the flat edge of the ear onto the side of the doll’s head.

Large Ear – make 2

Rnd 1: Leaving a long starting tail, MR, ch2 (not a st),
work 6dc, pull the MR closed BUT do not sl st to join -
this makes a semi-circle. Hide the fastening off tail
behind the ear and then use the long starting tail to sew
the flat edge of the ear onto the side of the doll’s head.

TIP – to make an extra large ear, ch3 instead of 2

(not a st), and work 6-8 triple crochet into the MR!
