 BIOGRAPHY 
Brenda Louise Sophronia Munn-Bell, a native of Virginia, was born on October 30, 1953 and died of cancer on September 17, 1988.

As soon as she settled in New York, the singer became Victoria Spivey's protégée.

Her first recordings, for Spivey Records and alongside Big Joe Turner, date from 1978. She mainly gravitated to New York, but also performed in Chicago, notably for Muddy Waters.

She worked with Champion Jack Dupree, toured with him and Louisiana Red, notably in France, and enjoyed other European engagements with them (including Germany), where the members of 'The American Blues Stars' still included: Willie Mabon, Piano Red, Al Jones, Sonny Rhodes, (...)
