Location and Uses

Breath of the Wild

Flints can be found after breaking Ore Deposits, Luminous Stone Deposits, and Rare Ore Deposits. Striking pieces of Flint with metal Weapons causes the former to ignite. This can be used to create Campfire by dropping a piece near some Wood before striking it.[1] It can be used to relight extinguished Campfires as well, including those under Cooking Pots. The Kochi Dye Shop accepts Flints as an ingredient for Black Dye.

The Champions' Weapons, if broken, can be reforged by special craftsmen, with Flint as a requirement.

Tears of the Kingdom

Flints reappear in Tears of the Kingdom. When Fused to a Weapon or Arrow, they increase its attack power by one.

Gomo is in search of a rare variety of Flint known as Ripened Flint. It is indistinguishable from regular Flint, though Gorons are able to tell it apart by its taste. As part of the Side Quest "Cash In on Ripened Flint", Gomo offers to pay Link 1,000 Rupees if he can provide him with Ripened Flint.[13] Both during and after this Side Quest, Link can give Gomo pieces of Flint in groups of 20, 50, or 100, which he will taste-test for Ripened Flint.[14]
