Hi! I'm Tony, an experienced frontend web developer who was recently affected by a RIF. I am actively looking for my next role and will appreciate boosts, introductions, and recommendations!

My experience is largely in TypeScript, React, and Next.js, but I love using the native platform (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). I also have some experience in server-side engineering in Node.js and Python + FastAPI.

I love projects that help build a healthier planet and contribute to the wellbeing of people. I focus on accessibility and usability, and put the customer needs first. I am good at clarifying vague requirements into solid products, and I have lots of experience as a technical/architectural lead.

    Please reach out!

Anyone using LinkedIn may find more scammers reaching out to them than legitimate recruiters, especially if using the tag. I write about the LinkedIn seek-and-hide scam. One of them poorly impersonated @Hyundai @Hyundai_Global. medium.com/@brothke/the-linked

Aber ab und zu (oder eher häufiger) ramm ich den „Managern“ und Typen da drüben halt gern mal die Links-grün versiffte Lanze in die Olymphemd bewehrte Brust.

I’m sitting here, managing 7 different workstreams, 5 different environments,150 apps, all with no budget for tooling or training and with a team of 5 engineers and a sixth who I can’t use, all of whom are burnt out from constantly context switching and I’m just sitting here thinking, “Damn, only having to manage two or three swim lanes would make for such an amazing break right now.”

So yeah, if you’re looking for a or manager with 25 years experience to come join your team, let me know! I love the idea of having a semi-realistic number of plates spinning and maybe a team that is just normally understaffed instead of so completely understaffed that it sits in the realm of the absurd.

Looking for a remote job where being treated as an adult human is not a thing that needs to be fought for but is the baseline standard for the company.

Bit of a content warning that I'm about to share some -generated slop. Just two short bits, to make a point.

I made an post on today partly as an experiment, and as before was immediately inundated with HR bots. I spent a few minutes from time to time stringing one along, out of curiosity. One way I know it's a bot is that no human recruiter would stick with me for that long a duration given the nonsense I was entering. Anyway, at one point it emitted that there was a job it was "recruiting" for, titled "Generative AI & LLM Remediation Consultant | United States (Remote/Onsite)" at a company named "Independent Consultant (Contract Role)". It's fairly clear to me that the bot was tasked with constructing fake job listings based off information people share. I can only guess what its actual purpose is.

Welp, after almost 4 years, today is my last day at my current organization. It was quite a ride, but it was time for me to move on. I'll be spending some time re-grouping and re-thinking my career and then looking for my next thing. I might spend a bit of time writing up old research I never published but should. In the past I've done some and might do that again. I'll definitely do some yard work I've been neglecting!
