My Jealous God - Everything About You

MY JEALOUS GOD
Everything About You
1990 Rough Trade

Notes :
Track 01 - remixed by A Guy Called Gerald

Extract of the promo letter:
A four piece group originating in South East London, My Jealous Guy were formed in mid-1989. After attention from frantic A&R departments on the strenght of their first demo, and amid the MADchester hysteria, they decided to sign to Manchester's Playhard label, but after two months, and with 1992 in mind, switched to Belgium's Antler-Subway Records.
Inspired by sources as diverse as Pink Floyd and Sly Stone, with '60s pop sensibilities, '70s punk energy and an '80s feel, My Jealous Guy rework rock's history into tunes for the '90s.

The Cherry Orchard - For What It's Worth (Unreleased Single)

THE CHERRY ORCHARD
For What It's Worth (Unreleased Single)
1990 Red Honey

Notes :
Cambridge indie band playing sophisticated pop in the sunshine pop / Bacharach vein. Primarily Jason Smith and Sara Onyett, they debuted in 1988 with the ''So Blind'' flexi (included on The Sound of Leamington Spa Vol 1), followed by a 12'' vinyl single ''Sing Sister Glory'' the next year. After that they disappeared for several years - apart from two songs on the Swedish tape compilation Grimsby Fishmarket 4 Norrköping 0, from 1992. They have released two albums, one in 1997 and one in 2000.

''For What It's Worth'' is ultra rare unreleased single from 1990, heavily influenced by madchester sound.

Magik Roundabout - All Broken Down (12'' Promo)

MAGIK ROUNDABOUT
All Broken Down (12'' Promo)
1991 M & G Records / WAU! Mr. Modo Recordings

One of the most obscure records i've ever posted on the blog, second single by Magik Roundabout - indie dance/baggy band from Sheffield. This single is real mystery, i can't find any info on the net (year of release, label, record sleeve or how many tracks are on this 12''), all i have is these two mixes.
I discovered ''All Broken Down'' before 5-6 years on some online record store, can't remember which one, no copies on ebay or other shops. Any help will be well appreciated. All Broken Down (Extended Mix) is great madchester influenced track, other mix is not bad, too.

UPDATE 10.05.2018):  Finally the mystery is solved, someone posted copy of this 12'' promo on discogs, here is link

Two tracks on this record (Extended Mix & Alternative Smoke Mix), both remixed by Youth & Robin Hancock
Record is produced by Marius De Vries & Steve Sidelnyk, released in 1991 on WAU! Mr. Modo Recordings

Movin On Up: Pop Hits From 1991 (BBC 4 Video)

MOVIN ON UP
Pop Hits From 1991
2011 BBC 4 Video

Notes :
BBC archive compilation exploring 1991's fellow travellers from the British indie guitar and dance scenes that accompanied Primal Scream's breakthough Screamadelica album, which went on to win the inaugaural 1992 Mercury Prize.
In the interim between Madchester and Britpop, a new British indie pop flourished that included dance-influenced guitar bands, indie-influenced dance outfits and the gearchanging hits of both the grunge spearhead that was Nirvana and those American alternative rockers REM.
Alongside Primal Scream's Movin' On Up are performances from The Late Show, Top of the Pops and other shows by the likes of Ride, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Pop Will Eat Itself, KLF, Massive Attack, Nirvana and REM, alongside many other intriguing moments from what was once called the 'shoegazing' era.
