A great early 90's Balearic cover of The Doors classic ''Riders On The Storm''.
Single was produced from members of UK ambient house band Innocence, who are responsible for ''Natural Thing'', ambient house masterpiece combination of Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" and The Doors's "Riders On The Storm" which hitted the clubs and became a massive hit, one of the greatest tracks released in early 90's period.

Early 90's US band from New Brunswick, New Jersey, influenced by madchester, shoegaze and indie rock sound.

Band members were: Lee D'Onofrio (vocals & sampler),  Gary Kapland (guitar & vocals), Christopher List (guitar), Brett Blau (vocals) and Doug Metzner (drums & percussion).

They released two singles: Dandelion Fire EP (1992) and True Chasm (1993), both previously posted on the blog. In 1995 they released their debut album ''Revolution''.

In 1989, after being introduced to Chicago house music Johnny Male teamed up with Guy Batson and Jhelisa Anderson to begin the project Soul Family Sensation. Their debut album "New Wave" was praised by the British press and with their single "I Don't Even Know If I Should Call You Baby" the band had their first club and chart success.

But despite a bit of interest from the style press and some radio play for "...Baby", Soul Family Sensation bombed. "Burger Habit", the second LP recorded without Jhelisa under the band name of Sensation, disappeared without a trace and the band split. Male - after reputedly writing songs for Jimmy Nail - turned up next in Republica.

Too white for the dance kids, too black for the indie kids, SFS were stuck in a sort of no-mans land in-between.

Indie band the Wishplants had been playing together for some time in their native Northamptonshire, England, as a trio of Ed Gilmour (guitar), James Fitzgerald (drums) and Paul Simpson (bass), before cementing the line-up with the addition of vocalist Saul in March 1992. Taking their name from an episode of science fiction television programme Star Trek, they played a few shows before entering a local studio to record demos with Wonder Stuff / Neds Atomic Dustbin producer Simon Efemey. It was he who introduced the band to their manager and set their career in motion by inviting the Wonder Stuff along to see them. The result was the support slot on that band’s Scottish tour, before they had played 20 shows under their own auspices. Saul’s charismatic performances soon attracted the attention of the UK indie press, prompting the New Musical Express to describe him as ‘clearly one leg short of a full pair of trousers’. Despite record company interest the group elected to record an EP, Circus Rain, with Efemey, released in February 1993 on China Records. Afterwards they embarked on their first UK tour proper with Power Of Dreams, taking in both the Phoenix and Glastonbury Festivals. The Tortoiseshell EP followed in July to further strong reaction, prefacing a well-received debut album ''Coma'' in October.

Great late 80's / early 90's synthpop/electronic band from UK, band members were Barry Maguire & Steven Gallifent. They released one album called ''Pleasure'' and four singles: ''Pain EP'', ''Yellowfield'', ''Tuesday's Child'' and ''Please''.

 

''Please'' was last single released from the album and was remixed by Paul Oakenfold. Also there was 12'' promo of this single with Pete Lorimer mixes of ''Please''. 

I'm looking for copy of this promo with Lorimer mixes, copy of their other singles and their album ''Pleasure''.

Stare were an early 1990s four-piece indie band from Norfolk, England. Members of the band were Michael Brown, Karl Goodbody, Richard Hammerton and Derek O'Sullivan, joined by second guitarist in March 1992 David Donley.

They released three EP's entitled Stare, Mood and Work between 1991 and 1992 on the Fusebox and Big Life record labels and split in 1992.

They recorded an album called "The Luxury of Anger" which was sadly never released at the time as they parted company with Big Life before that could happen.

 

Stare were broadcast live, as part of BBC Radio 1's Sound City at the Norwich Waterfront in Norwich, on 26 April 1992, and were on the nights bill with Carter USM, Nick Cave, The Farm and Catherine Wheel.

The band reformed in 2011 and released the previously unreleased album ''The Luxury of Anger'' in May 2012 on Eastzone Records.
