Get Well Cards

My husband was home today with this awful cold. I feel sorry for him (up to a point, LOL).
He is a tad bit grouchy when he's not feeling well.

I decided to hole up in my craft room and stay away from him (hoping not to catch it).

Anyways, it kind of inspired me to make a couple of Get Well cards.

Here is the first one:

I fussy cut some flowers from a sheet of patterned paper in the June Bug line by Basic Grey

Supplies used: card stock - blue and coral; patterned papers from June Bug by Basic Grey; doily - Wilton; chipboard letters - Blue Line by Cosmo Cricket; string and button - my stash; Pop Dots.

And, here is the second:

Also using a fussy cut flower from the same piece of patterned paper.

Supplies used: card stock - recycled white, yellow; patterned papers - June Bug by Basic Grey and Citrus Bliss 6X6 pad by Pink Paislee; stamps - Salutations by Paper Smooches; enamel dots - Sprinkles by Doodlebug and Chalk by My Minds Eye.

Hope Everyone in Your Home is Feeling Fine!!

Be A Happy Camper

I wanted to play along in a couple of challenges this week.

Over at Less Is More this week the challenge is ROUND and ROUND
You may interpret this as you wish, but we must be able to recognise the connection!

And over at Addicted To CAS the theme this week is Wheels.

I "cased" a card by Elena at Just Me, that I had fallen in love with. I used several stamp sets to make my version. I fussy cut out the car and camper so I could use pop dots to give them some dimension.

Supplies used: card stock - white, red; stamps - Mr. Campy by Cosmo Cricket, sampler2love by The Stamps of Life and Slang Gang by Paper Smooches; ink - Jet Black by StazOn; Copic Markers; Pop Dots.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek!

Final Halloween Cards for OWH 2013

I'd like to share the last three Halloween cards I made for Operation Write Home to send before this years deadline of 8-31.

Now I will be concentrating on Thanksgiving cards before the September deadline hits.

For todays first card I used sketch #160 from OWH:

For my version of the sketch I went for some darling papers, chipboard and stickers in Cosmo Crickets Nevermore collection.

Supplies used: card stock - orange, black, tan; patterned papers from Nevermore by Cosmo Cricket; chipboard and stickers in Nevermore by Cosmo Cricket; stamp - Craft Smart; ink Tuxedo Black by memento; twine and button - my stash; Pop Dots

For card #2 today I used sketch #161 from OWH:

For my card I changed the oval shape to a rectangle and used some of my Spellbinder dies and a darling sticker by Reminisce as the focal point of my card.

Supplies used: card stock - black, vanilla, orange; patterned papers - Bubble, Bubble, Toil & Trouble and Pick Of The Patch in Halloween by Reminisce; stickers - Halloween by Reminisce; Dies - Curved Rectangles, A2Matting Basics A and A2 matting Basics B Nestabilities by Spellbinder; brads - Kaiser Craft; Pop Dots.

And the last card for today uses Sketch #162 by OWH:

For my card I used a Silhouette Studio cut file to cut out the cauldron and stamps from Wicked Cool by Stampin' Up.

I wanted it to look like she tumbled into the cauldron so I added the lines by the hat to give it the feel of spinning as it fell off of her head.

Supplies used: card stock - recycled white, green, black; patterned papers are both scraps from my stash; stamps - Wicked Cool by Stampin' Up; ink - Tuxedo Black by Memento; Copic marker; 1/2" circle punch - EK Success; clip - Making Memories; Pop Dots

I'm Your Biggest Fan

It was almost 100° when I was making this card, so I guess I was hoping the cute image would help cool me down :)

It's day 4 of the Itty Bitty A Day challenge over at the Unity Show & Tell page on Facebook and I wanted to keep playing along.

For my card I used some retro looking paper by Cosmo Cricket and the "Biggest Fan" Itty Bitty stamp set by Unity.

A few Skittles in the corner reminded me of water droplets.

Supplies used:  card stock - red; patterned paper - Swingin' in Social Club by Cosmo Cricket; stamps - Biggest Fan Itty Bitty by Unity; ink - Iced Spruce Distress Ink by Tim Holtz for Ranger; Serenade Thickers alphabet stickers by American Crafts; Skittles; corner rounder - Zutter

Cowboy Happy Birthday

This is my second post for today.

A little masculine birthday card for Seize The Birthday!

While I'm not a cowgirl, I thought it would be fun to do a Cowboy themed birthday card. I found this great profile of a cowboy at the Silhouette Studio store and cut it out with my Cameo. Then I went to my paper and pulled out this old line from Cosmo Cricket called Wanted (still love this line), and went to work. I flipped the sketch so it would better suit my silhouette.

Supplies used: card stock - kraft, brown; patterned paper from wanted by Cosmo Cricket; stamp - Cake Wishes by Unity; ink - Rich Cocoa by Memento; Silhouette Studio cut file; hemp cord - Crafters Square; Pop Dots.

You Are Poultry In Motion

This is my second post for today.

A punny little Valentine card I created for Retro Sketches!

I used my Country Life Cricut cartridge to cut out my weather vane. I thought it was a fun take on the sentiment as the weather vane is not only a chicken, but would move in the breeze.

I have to say I was thinking of my blogging friend Jessica while I was making this card, hehe!

Supplies used: card stock - white, grey, black; patterned papers - Candy Girl in Hey Sugar by Cosmo Cricket and Bitty Dot Basics by Papertrey Inc.; border punch - Martha Stewart; Country Life Cricket cartridge; font - Thuys Chicken Scratch; puffy heart sticker - Sticko by Ek Success; Pop Dots.

Pink Tags For LUFP

For Saturday's lyrics how about a little Chicago:

Saturday in the park
I think it was the Fourth of July
Saturday in the park
I think it was the Fourth of July
People talking, people laughing
A man selling ice cream
Singing Italian songs
Can you dig it (yes, I can)
And I've been waiting such a long time
For Saturday

For today I'd like to share some "pink" Christmas tags I created for Link Up For Pink.

I chose to use the same patterned paper, but come up with three totally different tags.

For the large snowflake tag, I traced the tag on the patterned paper, cut it out and then cut it at an angle. After attaching it to the tag I zig zag stitched with my sewing machine. Then just glued my large, glittery snowflake towards the bottom.

For the next tag I again traced the tag on to the patterned paper and cut it to fit the top portion of the tag.  I chose some card stock to match the dark pink in the pattern paper, cut a small strip of it, border punched it, attached it under the patterned paper then stitched across the top with my sewing machine and embellished it with a few pearls. I stitched around the bottom of the tag, punched a heart in one corner and attached a snowflake sticker in the other.

For the last tag I put the bottom of my tag, centered in my border punch, and just punched one time so that it would stay intact. Then I took a small piece of the patterned paper and border punched it, glued it above the punched out portion of the tag and zig zag stitched across it. I used Stickles to put some random snow flakes on the tag. I cut a tree out with the reverse side of the patterned paper, attached it to the tag with Pop Dots and topped it with a snowflake sticker.

Supplies used: tags - Staples; patterned paper - Silly Chilly in Jolly By Golly by Cosmo Cricket; large snowflake - Scrapbook Studios; card stock - dark pink; pearls - Kaiser craft; border punch - EK Success; small heart punch - my stash; snowflake sticker - Sandylion Essentials; Diamond Stickles; border punch - Fiskars; small snowflake sticker - Sandylion Essentials; Pop Dots; sewing machine.

Wishing you, like, Happy Birthday

I got such a kick out of a card designed by Karolyn Loncon, that I just had to do my own version.

You know how a lot of the younger generation, like, uses like in almost every sentence. Well, I loved how the sentiment used it and it seemed so perfect on the sneaker!

I cut the sneaker with my Cameo using a Silhouette Studio cut file. I modified it slightly so the toe was white to mimic the Keds All Star. I machine stitched around and then wound a shoe lace through the holes. I printed the sentiment on my computer.

Supplies used: cardstock - white; patterned paper - Re: Found from Upcycle by Cosmo Cricket; font - Socket; shoelace.

You're Electric!

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope your weekend is relaxing and fun!

My card of the day, today, is a simple little card I made with a super cute set of Stamps from BoBunny. When I saw this set at my local scrapbook store I just had to pick it up.

For the card I just cut a couple strips of patterned paper and attached them to the front of the card. I stamped the mixer on the card and on a piece of patterned paper, then cut it out and attached it to the card with pop dots. I stamped the sentiment on the bottom (unfortunately I smeared it a bit). Then I added some machine stitching and attached the whole thing to a red cardstock base.

Supplies used: cardstock - red, white; patterned papers from Early Bird by Cosmo Cricket; stamps - Sweet Tooth by BoBunny; Copic Markers; Sewing Machine.

Make a Wish

It's Friday, YAY!!!! I've got some fun stuff planned tomorrow for St. Patrick's Day, looking forward to it. I'll take some pics and share with you.

Today I have a little card I made:

For the dandelion I cut 3 reverse scalloped circles in vellum from a Silhouette Studio cut file. I used a pop dot in between each layer and topped it with a button to hide the pop dots. The leaf is cut with the Walk In My Garden Cricut cartridge. I paper pierced the stem and leaf vein then stitched with floss.

I cut the grass with the Create A Critter Cricut cartridge. The sentiment is a combo of rub on letters and foam alphabet stickers.

Have a super day!

Please stop by tomorrow for the Stinkin' Cute blog hop!!! We have some great projects to show you using the Stinkin' Cute files :)

Supplies used: cardstock - cream, mustard, 2 shades of green; vellum; patterned paper - Remember in Earth Love by Cosmo Cricket; Silhouette Studio cut files; Wlak In My Garden and Create a Critter Cricut cartridges; floss - DMC #906; rub on letters - Purkey by American Crafts; foam alphabet stickers - Sticko; button - my stash; Pop Dots.
