Get Well Soon Card

Hello from Design Team member, Heidi.

I adore cats.  And this cat stamp is sooooo sweet!  When I was looking at it, I thought how cozy the kitten looks, and then I decided that the blanket needed to look cozy too.  So I employed one of my favorite techniques, paper piecing!

I had just the right patterned paper that I had hoarded kept for just the right project.

I first stamped the cat on white cardstock and colored with Tom-bow markers.  This made it easy to do the tabby shading as I could just go over those a second time with my brown marker to make it just the right amount darker.  (Typically I don’t color a lot with water based markers but in this instance, it works very well.)

Then I layered over the cozy blanket and added my sentiment.  A very easy card!

The stamps I used can be found in the I Brake for Stamps store.

The cat is available in a set called MS110 Full Plate and also as a single stamp, if you prefer.

The sentiment is part of this set called Baubles, Doily and Words.

Stitched Patchwork Card!

Hi Stamping Fans!

Today I am sharing a card made with a patchwork style background!
I've used patterned papers designed by Pam Bray and available at both the BPM & IBFS Stores!
I love these paper backs - double sided so you get a great range of patterns and I love that they are color coordinated so whatever side of the paper you use you know it all matches and compliments each other!

I started by cutting out squares from a pack of the patterned paper - "Cyan Consortium" - beautiful greens - I wasn't too particular about measuring - I wanted a "handmade" patchwork quilt look - I glued them all to a piece of card and used my sewing machine to add the look of squares sewn together - then cut to size and sewn onto a base card. Add any feature stamp you like and a sentiment.
This works for Xmas and any occasion!

Products used:
Cyan Consortium Paper Pack Designed by Pam Bray
"Happy Birthday" from Happy Day Llama Sheet designed by Pam Bray

***Remember to us the code BPMSharon at the store for 15% off ***
So many fab stamps to choose from!
Note: you can use the code at either the IBFS Store OR the BPM Store - why not do an order from each and increase your stash!

I Brake for a Hello ...

Hello IBFS fans !!

It's Crystal here and today's card is made using the Selfie Set  , I made a shaker card base and then we had fun .. I loved playing paper dolls when I was a kid and that might explain my love to paper piece . Today I am going to show you the Crystal way to paper piece , its over the top and will take it to the next level and once you go there is no turning back ..lol

I find some small print paper that I like and will go together ( 6 X 6 paper pads are perfect for this the patterns are always small and perfect for this technique )

I am doing her skirt in a floral pattern
and his shirt it a small green pattern ,
now the fun comes , I find a maker the complements the paper colors and I add shading to the areas that would have shadows , see below the shading I added to the shirt in green
next I add green to the shirt area , I do this just in case I don't cut so perfectly the green will hide it , you don't want to do all this work and see white cardstock under the image after you glue your piece on  , I also go around the edge with a black marker the keep all white at bay ..
here you can see her skirt is done  , see the shading at top of skirt I think it really adds to the paper piecing , and you can see half his shirt in this picture ready to glue , make sure you color your image before you glue your paper pieces on

What do you think? Will you give this a try ? I hope  have inspired you to try paper piecing , it really is fun ! A great pair of CutterBee scissors are a must have also to get that detailed fussy cutting done .

today I am going to paper piece her workout clothes , I like to shade my paper pc and then I run a black marker around the edge of the cut , I will also run some matching ink on the stamp image , I do this just in case my paper piece is not cut exact , the ink color under it will camouflage it . my image is copic colored .
