FRANKENCRUMB AND OTHER TRIALS, et al

This is as far as I've gotten on adding borders...

[see how wavey the bottom is?  All
those seam endings really
messed me up!!
Definitely "franken-seams!!!"
think I've managed to "fix it"....
We shall  see when I try adding
another border piece]--if I can find one...

I am finding it a real challenge to come up with
something other than just another plain color!!
I don't have anymore of the "tree on white print"
left so I've tried other B&W prints, but
they just don't "feel" right to me...
Maybe this is finished as is and will
be yet another table topper????

*****************************
My culinary trials lately have been
a total bust!! I tried a "No Knead
Cinnamon bread" that turned out
more like it could be used for a boat
anchor than to be eaten--yikes!!!
And....
 my longtime favorite Chicken/rice casserole
was just not right either..one ingredient
or another was definitely "off"--or so our
digestive systems told usπŸ‘ΉπŸ˜©πŸ˜±

Here is how I am feeling about
cooking
↶↶↶↶
This "Far Side" cartoon says it perfectly!!!!!

But.....
my "Sweet Baboo" aka Tom, to the rescue!!!
He will be making his spaghetti and meatballs for
our dinner tonight.
Phew...
I need a break!!!
[File under: discretion is the better part
of valor!!]

************************
I did get an early birthday present
from him:
πŸ’™πŸ’™This adorable one-cup teapotπŸ’™πŸ’™
I just love blue and white ware...
πŸ’‹πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’‹
Isn't that sweet????

Lucky me, he is always there to
"pick me up" when I need it...

*******************************
I hope you can be out and about today enjoying this
lovely sunny weather...the leaves are starting
to pop-out here and the grass is growing
once again...
Ah....Spring has Sprung at long last...

SPRING FLOWERS, et al

Our magnolia has burst into bloom
with yesterday's rain showers...

Don't you just LπŸ’—VE the colors
they are wearing????;)))))

And

More daffodils have come out
also...
with more to come....

****************************

Jelly Roll Jazz is all finished...
I put the binding on yesterday;
this is the second quilt I got from that
one blue batik jelly roll...;)))
 and
Here is the back where I just
cobbled together fabrics...
The pink and the green pieces came as
a gift from Wanda--thank you so
much for these lovely pieces...;))))--
and the rest of the KF fabric that I had
forms the bigger section across the backing...

So finally....
DONE AND DUSTED!!!

Oh yes, except for the label..
I have one for Jelly Roll Jive
ready to sew on and need to make
one for Jelly Roll Jazz now...

***************************
If you like a really good, scarey
ghost story this book is the one
for you....πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»
Sort of a ghost and romance and
mystery all rolled into one;)))
I am loving it!!πŸ’œπŸ‘»πŸ’€

******************************
Meanwhile I am auditioning fabrics
for the first little "stop" border
on my
"Franken-Crumb" piece...
I decided to sew all those little blocks
together into what will hopefully be the
central medallion on my next
"Fun" piece...

Here are my choices I culled from my stash:
↴↴↴↴
What do you think?
I am leaning toward the bottom strip for that 1st
little stop border before I begin adding other borders...
[It is cut at 2" ...]
**************************************

I will be resting my hands, shoulders, and back after
adding  the JRJazz binding through Helga yesterday...

It is a gray overcast day here with a few spits of
raindrops and, we hear, more on the way...
54 degrees out there--most likely no
deck sitting today....

LOLLIPOP FLOWER MEDALLION RETURNS, et al

Lollipop Flower Medallion
(BB1 from Audrey's blog )
{Begun in 2023!!!!}

I took this out and thought I would try
to do a few lines of hand quilting today.

Tom and I sat out on our deck
for the first time
this year from 10:00 a.m.--temp 73--
to 3:00 p.m.
It was simply beautiful.
πŸ‘«πŸ˜‡πŸ˜Š

I have always had handwork with me
sitting on our deck through the years
and so, today I took my semi-finished
Lollipop top and thought I'd see how my
hands would fare.

I only did three lengths of thread
and so far nothing hurts...
Hopefully I can finish this one.
Here is where I am at with it....
Working on the first border
round of squares
on either side...

My lack of hand quilting for such a long time
now shows in the uneveness of my stitches...
;((((---
they are kind of wobbling along; but
I will continue to work on this as long
as my hands last...and I figure wavering
stitches are better than no stitches at all!!

It felt just SO good and SO right to be
hand quilting once again...

Now just to not
"Overdo it"!!
R I G H T?????

Here I am on my lounge chair with
everything to hand..
how relaxing...
I had hand quilted all of the
central medallion section
before I had to put it aside...

I really want to finish this...
Wish me luck☺
✌πŸ‘πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘‹πŸ‘

Here is my DH seated at our little glass top
table with his binoculars and bird book
waiting for Mr. Hawk to appear to see if
he can figure out which type it is...
We have 3-4 different varieties that
reside in our area...

As you can see we have a beautiful, clear
blue blue sky above and the trees are
beginning to show their red buds now...

Spring has sprung for us for the next
few days at least....

Hugs to you all,

SUNDAY SEWING, ET AL

Jelly Roll Jazz--the 2nd quilt from the
blue batik jelly roll is all
quilted--finally!!!!
and
I've made the binding for it
this morning the same as for
Jelly Roll Jive...I had some left
over and just added to it...I am
hoping to get it sewn on tomorrow...
:)))
********************************
Spring is showing its colors around
here now....↧↧↧↧

Daffodils on my front walk border bloomed
this weekend....so cheery and pretty...

More by the big rock in the front of our house....

And here are tulips I treated myself with on our
front step...
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

I decided to sew all the little crumb blocks
together for the start of a
Medallion Style piece....

I just love these little Franken-quilt
pieces to use up my really
little strips and fabric orts...
:)))))

So, now I am pondering what
color first "stop"  border
I should use....I am
thinking that since
this is so "busy"
perhaps a solid
or mottled fabric
would be best...
*********************
Did you watch this???
   AMAZING!!!
Last Friday we were watched the
whole splash down of Artemis II
--totally entranced with it all.
Even eating our dinner
in front of the tv!!

What an amazing feat!!!
NASA has outdone itself
What an exciting
and hopeful
achievement...

I hope your Sunday is full of
happy things...

HILLSIDE HEART PROMPT #13

Our prompts for this week No. 13
are:
1} "I will carry your tears for you" ;
and
2} Glitter Bomb.

This really made me think
long and hard....
 --how could I
represent this lovely thought????

The images I came across
in my stash of these newly wed couples
and what I imagined to be an elderly
couple married many years
seemed to me to be perfect
examples illustrating
this beautiful and moving sentiment...

Can you see the glitter--it certainly is
a "bomb" on this small page...;)))
A simple page but meaningful...
πŸ’•πŸ’žπŸ‘«
I do enjoy "Caroline on the hillside's
on YT's  weekly
prompts  for our Junk Journals
this year...one
double prompt per week...

A lovely way to spend my
Easter Sunday afternoon..

Hugs, to you all,

SCRAPPY SATURDAY WALL

This week I've been working on my tiniest red scraps;
these may become some bright table mats....
It is surprising how long it takes to make one block...
I do so enjoy working on these--so relaxing;))))

My little cross squares, as you can see, are still
languishing there waiting for me to add some
more--these are made with 1.5" squares...
one at a time--- no strips...
{plus they need some good ironing...}

********************
I want to wish all of you who celebrate

EASTER
a
Wonderful Holiday
full of chocolate bunnies
