Happy Surprises!!

**Surprise Number One**

You may recall in an earlier post:  "Gems and Frills" when I wrote about C, one of our dear granddaughters, being on a well earned trip to Paris.

Recently, we were thrilled to have a lovely family visit and catch up, when C so lovingly surprised us with some souvenirs... gorgeously delicious French chocolate and a beautiful painting.

The choccie has gone and the painting takes pride of place:

Here's some more photos of C's trip...

This is what it was like when trying to see the Mona Lisa!

A different view of the Eiffel Tower:

Here's C enjoying her baguette, spread with Vegemite she'd brought from Australia,  for lunch in front of the Eiffel Tower:

... and finally, this is the lovely shop where C bought our delicious chocolate:

A great adventure indeed, and thanks dearest C for thinking of us - Hugs and Love, Grandma and Papa xoxoxo

**Surprise Number Two**

Today in the mail, this little sweetie arrived:

She's a Dotee, and her name is Aurora, isn't she gorgeous!!!  She was sent to me by Vee who's been a blog-friend for quite a few years now.

Vee makes beautiful dolls, bears and now Dotees and I'd happened to comment on how beautiful they were...

Here's a closeup of Aurora's pretty little face and curly curls:

I just know you'll love to see all of Aurora's friends, you can find them here "Vee's The Bearister Blogspot"

Thanks very much Vee, I'm thrilled to bits at your kindness and totally wowed, once more, at your beautiful creation.

P.S. I have to say, that Tinnie Bear has been beside himself with joy at Aurora's arrival.  I managed to get this quick snap as he was making her comfy after her long flight all the way from Canada.  Firm friends already!

Cheers now :D)

    1. Hi Eileen, thanks for dropping by. We all loved the way we could share C's trip overseas... today's technology is wonderful, and it was beaut to get together and listen to her experiences. It would never have occurred to me to have an adventure like that when her age. Yes, I agree, it'd be great to see the Mona Lisa up close... there's always queues C told us, but their wait time was only an hour that particular day - can be much longer apparently.

Aurora is a real cutie... Vee is very talented - and generous :D)

  8. awww...... even I think she is cute.... and, look, you have bears too. She will feel right at home ... as she had a bunch of 'em around here.

I've never been to Paris .... I love to see the photos so that I can live vicariously in that department....

That was fun, Buttons came to visit after seeing the Dotee...sadly she is Google Plus...and, I can't get onto her page without joining that.... I just want to leave things the way they are as too much always happens if I try to change things.... I still don't have my blogroll back after Blogger changed things last time... it's annoying.

glad you're having fun with little Aurora .... than't exactly why I made them all...... they are fulfilling their potential......

  13. Lovely painting seems to capture the spirit of Paris. I would like to get there someday so C's trip is a nice taste, I'm just trying to imagine the taste of the Vegemite.;) The chocolate shop looks delightful, and the cute Dotee looks right at home.

    1. Thanks for popping by and leaving your comments Hannah :D) Glad you liked it. To describe the taste of Vegemite ... it's savoury and a bit salty and, being a spread that we were given from childhood, is a kind of comfort food - a little home away from home treat when overseas. I can imagine that baguette tasted delicious with that little addition! Cheers now :D)

Lovely gifts with C's chocolate and beautiful painting, and Vee's Dotee is so sweet, very cute alongside the little bear. Have a great week Susan, thank you for stopping by.
