Genre(s)Progressive Rock
Label: InsideOut
Format: CD, digital, vinyl
Release date: June 10, 2022
Tracklist
1. The Changes (17:06)
2. The GPS Vultures (17:01)
3. The Lady Tied To The Lamp Post (20:52)
4. Wasted Soul (4:40)
5. In The Dead Of Night (Bonus) (16:11)

Line-up
Andy Tillison (Parallel or 90 Degrees) – Vocals, Keyboards
Jonas Reingold (The Flower Kings, Karmakanic) – Bass Guitar
Theo Travis (Soft Machine, Travis-Fripp) – Sax, Flute
Luke Machin (Maschine, Francis Dunnery Band) – Guitar, Vocals
Steve Roberts (Magenta, Godsticks) – Drums

Description/Reviews:
This album sees The Tangent focusing almost entirely on their long format songs or "epics" with only one song being less than 16 minutes long. A very mature sounding record, the band have audibly focused on the compositional structure of this album which in the case of the three long pieces is also highly complex and "thought out". From a luscious and uplifting song about loneliness in Covid lockdown, to a full on 17-minute long jazz/prog/canterbury fusion instrumental, to a darkly electronic story of a homeless woman with shades of Nine Inch Nails, Po90, Japan and Van Der Graaf lurking within. The album's final track is the 4 minute bouncy Motown-style track "Wasted Soul", where the band anticipate a wonderful day in the future when the pandemic is over forever.

Description/Reviews:
Surrender of Silence is a further exploration of Hackett’s love of world music, discovering different sounds, moods and textures to deliver a rock album of extraordinary variety, power and beauty. Our journey takes us from the classical orchestrations of Russia (Natalia) to the plains of Africa (Wingbeats) to mysterious Eastern shores (Shanghai To Samarkand), all via the ocean's depths (Relaxation Music for Sharks (featuring feeding frenzy)). The Devil's Cathedral pools the talents of Hackett's entire touring band and features King's atmospheric Gothic organ and a powerhouse rhythm display from Blundell and Reingold. Hackett's vocals have never been bettered and his duet with Amanda Lehmann adds emotion to Scorched Earth a lament for the environmental horrors facing our planet. Throughout Hackett's guitars add a rich tapestry of colour with soaring solos and intricate weaving melodies.

Description/Reviews:
In defining their musical style, I would single out Alterbridge as the band closest to Molybaron. The style of both bands presents difficulty in identifying their primary genre. They are both largely categorised as prog metal. MOLYBARON are also often referred to as groove metal or atmospheric metal. ... Central to both bands is their melody, their guitar style and complex guitar arrangements.

Description/Reviews:
70 minutes of energetic and incredibly diverse material- though still very much recognizable as Kayak. The tracks on the album could hardly be more diverse, showing Kayak’s broad musical horizon, while still deeply rooted in prog. Moving ballads, adventureous epics, solid rock and sophisticated melodies- it’s all there, and more.
