OH-IO

Not rushing the summer at all.  At all.  However, when I saw this new adorable image from Sassy Cheryl, I just had to turn her into a Buckeye fan.  Just had to do it.

The digital image is from Sassy Cheryl's and is called "Hello There Neighbor".  She drew it to help celebrate the opening of her new Facebook page called "Sassy Cheryl's Neighborhood".  Have you moved in yet?  What are you waiting for?

I'm thinking you can guess how I made this card, if you've ever been to my blog.  You know the deets.  What you might not know is the patterned paper is from The Paper Studio.  The football is from Art Gone Wild.  And the O-H-I-O is from A Jillian Vance Design.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!  Now, get yourself over to the 'hood!

Basket Full of Love

I've been making cards this week. Though not the colorful, whimsical ones I long to do...rather, the 47 Kindergarten report cards I spent my every available moment on during the week. I am happy to say I am finished, and now I am faced with a guilt-free three day card-making weekend! Yahoo!

To make this card, I reached for this almost forgotten image I have from Art Gone Wild, called "Puppy Basket". Too cute! I stamped it with Marvy black dye ink onto X-Press It cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I cut around the image with a Nestabilities oval die.

The layout of this card was inspired by the current Mojo Sketch Challenge #173. Brown cardstock frames various pieces of patterned paper from Making Memories, Lasting Impressions and The Paper Studio. The scalloped brown oval was cut from a Nestabilities die, and the computer-generated sentiment was cut with a Cuttlebug die. A white gel pen was used to dot around some of the panels. Dog paw brads and red heart brads embellish this card, along with a sheer red ribbon with white dots.

No clue as to how I forgot about having this adorable stamp, but I did. It was hidden behind some other stamps on one of my shelves...and I thought it would make a great Valentine. So, I will submit this card for the challenge, Forgotten Stamp Friday #6.

Stay tuned for more cards. I have a couple of birthday cards I must make, and I still haven't forgotten about my BCS series...just got a little sidetracked and disgruntled that Auburn won on Monday.

As always, thanks so much for visiting my blog. I truly appreciate you taking a look at my work.

Self-Portrait?

Two months from today, this will be me. Football season starts in just two short months. I can hardly believe it.

I created this card for the Copic Creations Challenge #7, which was to color brunette hair. I immediately thought of this fun Suzy Toronto image from Art Gone Wild. I love everything Suzy Toronoto, just like I love everything Buckeye. So, with that, I love this card.

I stamped the image with Marvy dye black ink onto Georgia Pacific cardstock. I colored the image with Copic markers. Patterned paper, colored cardstock, and Ohio State ribbon were also used on the card. The little pom-poms are actually from a chalk set (which I sadly never used). I just colored the white pom-poms with a Copic marker and adhered to the card. I like the effect, though it is not a new idea. I did the same thing last year with this image.

But, this was the first time making this girl a Buckeye fan with her scarlet and gray. I think I'm going to make another card just like this, so that I can use them as thank you cards to two former co-workers. They are letting me buy their football tickets this year.

Two months from today!!! Go Buckeyes!!!
