Butterflies In Flight
This card was made as a result of me just playing around. I stamped the butterfly image from Dare2BArtzy's "Tangle Jumpstart" with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored them with Copic markers, and added some shimmer with a clear Wink of Stella pen.
The background is where the playing really started. I colored a layer of the background with a Copic marker, took a Q-tip and flicked Copic Colorless Blender fluid onto the card, randomly. Then I added some dots, big and small blobs of ink with Copic markers. I then took the Q-tip and dabbed on some white acrylic paint.
Framed with black cardstock, finishing touch a button tied with twine.
I had fun with it. That's all that matters, right?

Cardinal on a Birch
Last snow card....I PROMISE. I'm quite sick of the stuff. This card is a result of me having the stuff on my desk from yesterday's card, and remembering that I had a cool birch tree die from Taylored Expressions.
The cardinal and sentiment are from A Jillian Vance Design. To make this card, I did everything like yesterday's card. I'm thinking this would be an easy Christmas card to do for the masses.
I think I'm going to do some green grass, flowers and sunshine cards. SICK OF THIS WINTER!

Warmest Wishes Sloopy
I know I vowed not to make any more cards with snow, but when I saw today's MIX108 Challenge on Splitcoast I just had to go back on my word. I've also been quite inspired by Sloopy lately. She has been going out in this arctic tundra to do her business, quite quickly. Proud of her.
Here's how I made this card:
On a kraft base, I sponged white acrylic paint. I added a white cardstock strip for the snowy ground. I sponged more white acrylic paint onto a scrap piece of kraft, and with Versafine Onyx Black I stamped the birch trees from A Jillian Vance Design. I highlighted these trees a bit with Copic markers, then fussy cut.
The dachshund was made with a die from Poppy Stamps/Memory Box. I used some text from an old textbook and did some highlighting on the dachshund with a Copic marker. The slight shadows from the trees and dog were made with a Copic marker.
I sponged some Scattered Straw and Wild Honey Distress Inks onto the panel to create the sun. The sentiment is also from A Jillian Vance Design and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.
The scene was framed with black and white cardstocks.
Try to stay warm everyone! I promise to quickly return to some spring/summer cards in an attempt to warm us up!

Polar Bear Squares
This card is a result of just playing around in my stamp room. Loving having some time off so I can do just that. It's fun!
I stamped the Magenta image (no clue what it is called...I looked on their website but it wasn't listed. I've had this image for *years*) with Memento Tuxedo Black dye onto Hammermill Color Copy Digital Cover. I colored it with Copic markers. and framed it with black cardstock.
Then onto a panel of texturized light blue cardstock, I splotched and splattered some white acrylic paint and spread it along the grooves of the textured paper. I edged the panel with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass dye and Distress Ink Sugar Spun dye. I framed this panel with black cardstock.
I added a sheer white ribbon, a button and some Baker's Twine and called this card done.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!

Watering the Flowers
Today I was awakened to our first "Snow Day" off in two years! Love having a surprise day off! So, I decided to spend my day in my stamp room...just playing! And play, I did. I did my first ever Mixed Ability Challenge on Splitcoast. Today's challenge is called "Water You Doing?", MIX4. The challenge: to use water with water-based or water-soluble mediums on your project to make color MOVE! A definite detour from what I normally do when papercrafting.
To make this card, I used a piece of 100% Cotton Cardstock Watercolor Paper from Marco's. I used a paintbrush and painted the panel with water. Then, on a spare acrylic block, I added a drop of Adirondack Stream reinker and a drop of Adirondack Lettuce reinker. I painted the panel with the reinkers and water, allowing the two colors to bleed together. I sprayed some Sheer Shimmer Spritz Gold from Tsukineko onto the panel. Once dry, I took some bubble wrap that I dipped into some white gesso and stamped it onto the panel.
Then, I stamped a portion of a floral image from Innovative Stamp Creations (Nature Silhouette) with Versafine Onyx Black to create the stem.
The flowers are also from Innovative Stamp Creations (Art4Frames), and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black onto a scrap of the 100% Cotton Cardstock Watercolor paper that was waterwashed with Adirondack Cranberry reinker. I cut around the flowers and added them to the silhouette stem.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts.
I framed the panel with black cardstock and then placed onto a white cardstock.
Fun. Fun. Fun. Thanks, Snow Day!
