Home Sweet Home

Hi everyone, I'm on the Topflight stamps blog today using a stamp set from Creative Expressions.

The Home Comforts stamp set is amazing.  I love the living room panel - so many possibilities. I colored the panel with Copic Markers, then matted the panel with cardstock.

Home Sweet Home was one stamp, but I wanted the words to be separate so I stamped, then punched out each word.

To complete the card, I wrapped a pattern paper panel with twine and added it to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.  Finally, I added the colored panel and the words with foam adhesives.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bermuda Mini Album

Hi everyone, I'm on the Rinea blog with a mini album I created to document our recent cruise to Bermuda.

This month we are partnering with Joy Clair stamps so I incorporated stamps from the Dream Big and Wild and Free stamp sets.

I covered the front of the album with pattern paper then die cut letters from black cardstock and Silver/Silver Glossy Foiled Paper using my Cricut Expression.  I used an older, less sticky mat and set my pressure setting to medium and the letters cut without issue.

Next, I embossed the letters with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I placed the foiled letters onto the black letters.  I found using my Xyron Sticker Maker was the best way to add adhesive to the letters.  Then I added the letters to the front cover.

My interior pages consist of cardstock, pattern paper and Rinea Foils.  A strip of Gold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper was added along the edge of the right side and Emerald/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper was torn and added on top to coordinate with the photo.  I used Joy Clair stamps as embellishments.

Did you know that Rinea now has a Ghost Ink?  Stamping with Ghost Ink removes the color from the foil creating a reverse stamping effect.  I stamped "explore" repeatedly on the Gold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper, then used a baby wipe over the words.  As you can see, the gold was removed from the stamped words but not the surrounding foil!

I created a pocket page on the left side to hold extra photos.  Sapphire/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper was placed on the pocket and a photo added on top.  Using foil as mats really brings out the colors in the photos.  Then I simply placed additional photos in the pocket.  On the right side, I added a strip of Sapphire/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper under the photo.  I used another Joy Clair stamp as an embellishment.

To finish I inked around the pages with brown ink, added rings and ribbons.

Now I have a memento of our Bermuda vacation.

Thanks for stopping by.

Dream Imagine Canvas

ColourArte is having a design team call and I am applying!!!  I have seen ColourArte's paints and they are truly amazing.

I started this canvas by gessoing torn strips of paper randomly on a canvas.

Then I started to add dimension with chipboard pieces,  Next I started laying down color.

Once I had some color on the canvas, I used modeling paste through stencils.  Then I added more color and spritzed water on the canvas so the colors would run and blend together.

I painted some more chipboard elements and added them to the canvas.  Then I inked a script stamp with black ink and stamped it about the canvas.

I added bits of Flowersoft around the chipboard elements.

I painted some 7Gypsies papers, clipping them together and arranging them on the canvas.  A metal key was also painted and added over the papers.

Finally I took another stencil and added the words about the canvas with modeling paste.

Check out the Colourarte blog and facebook pages to see some fabulous projects.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Masculine Cards with RInea Foiled Papers

Hi everyone, have you tried Rinea Foiled Papers yet?  I've got 2 very different cards to share today using these amazing foiled papers.

Needing  a masculine birthday card, I die cut a border of gears from  Ruby/Ruby Star Stuck Foiled Paper.

Rinea Foils cut so easily - even the tiniest of details cuts precisely.  Once I die cut the gears, I embossed them, then lightly inked the gears with brown ink.

I used an assortment of 7Gypsies papers, distressing, then matting them with cardstock.  I adhered the gears to the left side of the card.  A simple birthday sentiment from Joy Clair stamps finished off the card.

For my next card, I embossed kraft cardstock and lightly inked it, adding it to the card.  Next, I cut Sapphire/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and then embossed it to create a focal element.  I matted the embossed panel with cardstock then adhered it to a larger panel.  Whisker Graphics twine was wrapped around the panels which were then adhered to the card.   A torn strip of foiled paper was matted with cardstock and adhered on top.

Using chipboard elements from the Robin's Nest, I inked each with Memento Ink.   I cut a hot air balloon from Ruby/Ruby Star Struck Foiled Paper then added it to the hot air balloon basket frame and placed it over the twine.

A pennant was created from cardstock and pattern paper.  The chipboard Fly was adhered on top then added to the card on a slight angle.

What do you think?

Altered Bird House

I have a new project on the Canvas Corp. blog showcasing the amazing 7Gypsies Architextures and Canvas Corp. papers and some wonderful paints from Tattered Angels.

I first painted a paper mache bird house with High Impact White Paint.  This allowed me to add additional paints for color.  Then I adhered 7Gypsies papers on the front, back and roof.  Canvas Corp. papers were lightly painted and added to the sides.

Check out all those paints I've used - from Chalkboard to Baseboard to Glimmer Glam and Glimmer Glaze.  The paints can be used alone or mixed to create other colors.

I've used Makin'sⓇ Clay to create the birds then painted them with Tattered Angels paints.

Check the Canvas Corp. blog for complete details.

Moments from the Journey

Hi everyone, Monica Taylor is celebrating the big 5-0 this month and I've joined in her celebration.

The theme is JOURNEY, so I've created a travel themed card.

I began by stamping this amazing stamp from Just4Fun Rubber Stamps.  After tearing it, I used Distress Inks to add color.

I then selected a variety of travel themed elements, inking all with the same inks.  I then assembled them on a card.

A metal label holder was placed over the Journey sentiment and a clip held the tickets together on the card.

Remember to wish Monica a Happy Birthyday.

Thanks for stopping by.

Timely Canvas with Paverpol

I have a new post on the Paverpol USA blog today entitled Time is Precious.

I created the background texture by dipping fabric in Paverpol.  Paverpol is a textile hardener  which can be mixed the fabric, paper, paper mache, clay, pottery and more.

Using Light Fleshtone Paverpol with my fabric, I draped it on my canvas and let it dry.  Because I wanted to add lots of color, I painted the dried canvas with gesso first.

After the canvas was completely dry, I sprayed assorted Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists over the panel, allowing some of the colors to mix and pool around the texture.

I wanted to use this amazing stamp, so I stamped it and added across the bottom of the canvas then I found some chipboard clock faces which I added to a large flower.

What do you think?

A traveling we will go

Hi everyone, I'm so excited to be a part of the CropStop team.  The store carries a wide assortment of products for all your crafting needs.

Today, I've created a card and coordinating pillow box.   Check out how easy the We R Memory Keepers Pillow Box Punch Board is to use.

Once the pillow box is formed, decorate to your heart's content.  I used some 7Gypsies papers, cutting apart elements and adding them to the pillow box.   A piece of twine was the perfect finishing touch.

Just add some favorite candies inside!

The card was created using papers from 7Gypsies as well as a Prima doll stamps.  I simply cut off his legs to use him on this card!

Don't you think this would make a wonderful treat to give someone heading off on an adventure - whether it be to camp, or college or just traveling along Route 66?

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to stop by the store for all your crafting needs.
