Vidalia is a kind of a sweet onion, Georgia's official state vegetable since 1990. Bryon guessed that it must be my first ever onion postcard! Thank you for this surprise, I love learning new things :)

Tibetan Donkeys/Civil Dwellings In Qinghai, China

Another great RAS card from last month, new donkeys for my collection :) Thanks to Nat and an unknown postcrosser who used lovely stamps...this might qualify as tentative Unesco site (The Diaolou Buildings and Villages for Tibetan and Qiang Ethnic Groups) but no real way to find out at this point...in any case this made me very happy, thanks guys! <3 p="">

UNESCO - Spišský Hrad, Slovakia

As far as Europe is concerned, Slovakian postcards are a bit harder to get than most. And then especially Unesco. But there are good fairies of postcrossing who surprise you out of the blue...thanks so much Michaela for my first Slovakian Unesco!! :))

Spiš Castle is one of the largest castle sites in Europe, situated in eastern Slovakia above the town of Spišské Podhradie. It was built in the 12th century and was a centre of the Szepes County of the Kingdom of Hungary. In 1780 the castle burned down, and has been in ruins ever since; it was partly reconstructed in the second half of the 20th century.

Les ânes de Benou, France

Donkeys from Plateau de Benou in the Pyrénées is a wonderful surprise from dear Fabienne, who has constantly been adding to my donkey collection, thank you so much xD This little family is just so cute! And the sports stamp is fantastic, i am always superhappy to get different french stamps to the definitive ones :)

Castillo Moro, Gibraltar

And now... a wonderful RAS that kept a grin on my face for a whole day (and then some) :D My 1st written & stamped postcard from Gibraltar, and the stamp? Europa 2011 showing Croatian Plitvice Lakes! The only thing that is missing is cancellation, something which is not surprising for a British overseas territorry  :/ Thank you so much Fabienne, this surprise is beyond words! :)))

The postcard shows the Moorish Castle (and its most prominent feature The Tower Of Homage), a medieval fortification in Gibraltar unique to the Iberian peninsula because it was built by the Marinid Dynasty of Morocco.

UNESCO - The Wadden Sea, Germany

A complete surprise in my mailbox - new Unesco for my collection from Apperveilchen, thanks so much! <3 I was scanning the card for any sign that it was an RR group long forgotten or something similar, I am not used to receiving so many RAS cards..!

These images really look lovely to me - wow look at the horse cart going while people bathe beside it..!

Bonaire, The Caribbean Netherlands

Might as well make it a 'caribbean day' on blog today :) For a long time this area was the biggest 'hole' in my collection, and now some of the most beautiful cards in my postbox come from there.

I thought Bonaire will be one of those countries that will be on my missing list forever - until I received this amazing RAS card! And donkeys nonetheless!! Thank you Pat for this...this...I am actually out of words..! xD

July Donkeys

 I absolutely love this card, which i got from private swap with Tanja from Finland :)

Tanja was on a holiday in the beautiful Azores and totally recommends it - she also purchased some beautiful cards, and i was lucky to find this donkey among them and that she was willing to trade. Thank you very much Tanja for another great swap! :=D

This lovely card is from Lotty's Animal RR, the Cats Vs Donkeys group. It is a double but recently i've decided not to worry about that :) The stamp is really cute too! I love the fact that i get so many finnish postcards and yet i hardly ever get stamp doubles. thank you Suvi!
