The (DC branded) board is marked as "Annie book 4" and "Annie Droid #5, Shaddy's tale, Disposable hero 2" but I can't seem to find these comics listed anywhere online. Can any more knowledgeable Ian Gibson fans out there help me out??

Maxwell the magic cat, volume 3

The four slim reprint volumes (published by Acme press) of Alan Moore's Maxwell the magic cat newspaper strips are surely high on the wants list of any Moore aficionado. Volumes 1 and 2 seem a little easier to get hold of than volumes 3 and 4 but I've long been more interested in volumes 3&4 as I knew they had Maxwell work by other artists in.

Below we have the artistic highlights of volume 3 - the original art of these images (along with those in volume 4) were all auctioned off at UKCAC87 for charity.

Short Fuse #1

A while ago (here to be precise) I looked at some 2000AD images that had never been published in Short Fuse fanzine.  Thanks to the feedback I go I've put together the 2000AD images that did make it into Short Fuse. In this case, issue 1.

My thanks to Mac Mac Anorak on the '2000AD and Eagle comic fans' Facebook group for sharing these images.

Steed & Mrs Peel - Ian Gibson & Grant Morrison

Everyone's go a lockdown project right? One of mine has been to complete those runs of comics where I'd picked up the odd issue here and there without ever actually completing the run and being able to, y'know, actually read the comics.

Anyway this week, to celebrate completing my run of 'Steed and Mrs Peel' comic, I'll be treating myself to a whole lot of Ian Gibson artwork as I settle down and finally read 'Steed and Mrs Peel'.

Note that 'The golden game' is written by Grant Morrison and 'The deadly game' by Anne Caulfield.

Here's a covers gallery...

Contains 'The Golden game - part 1'

Steed and Mrs Peel comic 2 (of 6) - art by Ian Gibson, script by Grant Morrison, published by Boom studios in 2012

Contains 'The Golden game - part 4'

Steed and Mrs Peel comic 5 (of 6) - art by Ian Gibson, script by Anne Caulfield, published by Boom studios in 2012
Contains 'Deadly rainbow - part 1'

Steed and Mrs Peel comic 6 (of 6) - art by Ian Gibson, script by Anne Caulfield, published by Boom studios in 2012

The Grand Comics Database has variant covers for some of these Boom comics - for instance here - but I've not included them here.

There was then a collected edition which looks like this...

2000AD trading cards - series 1 (2007) - part 12

From 2007 here's my look at Strictly Ink's 2000AD trading cards. I've collected the basic collector cards (#1-72) but there were also Gold Foil, Costume & Bonus Cards.

As it points out on the packaging the odds of finding hand drawn sketch cards or bonus cards are 1:20 packs (so 1-2 per box). Foil cards were 1:12 packs and each box contained (on average) one hand drawn sketch or bonus card.
