High Hopes Farmhouse

Ive had this Cosmo Cricket farmhouse dp for awhile now and have been wanting to pair it with some images from last years High hopes farm release. I finally got a chance to last night while everyone was sleeping...and I couldnt!! I had this card in my head so I decided to try to put it on paper. Didnt quite happen the way I pictured but here it is. I wont tell you how long I fooled with the buttons and circles!LOL!! Dont look too closely or you might see where I moved a button!LOL! I used Taylor's sketch. I love the sketch and wanted to use flowers but didnt have any that really matched so I used buttons instead. Note to self...need more flower punches, flower nesties, etc.! Hope you have a great weekend and dont forget to check back tommorrow for my Kenny K challenge card!

Ya Old Buzzard

This weeks FS is Stephanie and since my Mom is hosting this week she asked me to make a sample. As I browsing through Stephanie's great gallery I came across this buzzardcard. My Dad's bday is this month and since I love picking on him about him being over 50 now I knew this image and sentiment were perfect! I even had the dp Stephanie used! I changed the layout and left off the stitching. Instead I distressed and sponged the edges and added the library clip and mini brads. Image is colored using copics and of course I didnt write them down (again!). The copic creations challenge is birds so Im entering this card. Buzzards count as birds right?!LOL! I wanted to thank everyone for all their sweet comments about my crappy week!LOL!! After alot of searching I was able to find everything on my computer except my archive of edited cards waiting to be shared so thankfully I still have all of them and can just take another pic. Thats it for me today! I have a quiet house and Im taking advantage!LOL!!

Mad Cow

Hello everyone! Today I have a High hopes card to share with you. Ive had this image since last summer but this is the first time I've played with it. I love this look on this cow's face-it goes perfect with the "mad cow" sentiment!LOL! The inside is my fave though! Heres a peek at the inside sentiment...okay short story to share with you to let you know why this sentiment cracks me up so much! My Papa Guy was one of my favorite people in the world! He always made me laugh and I loved it! I spent just about every weekend/holiday at their house I just loved being w/him and my Granny! Not that I didnt love you too Mama! Okay so this was back in the day when Reba came out w/the song "Why havent I heard from you" and it played constantly on the radio and CMT. My Papa HATED that song!LOL!! So of course he would mock it. I so wish he was here right now so I could hear him say "Why aint I done heeered from you"!LOL!! Probably not as funny to you but I just had to share. You know we country folks here in Georgia have a BIG accent and we can sure lay it on when we really want to!LOL! I so wish my kids could have met him b/c he would have had a blast with them! I have so many wonderful memories from the time I was able to share with him. I dont know that I will ever give this card away but if I do I know the perfect person to give it to that will get this card as much as I do.

BTW..I got so wrapped up in telling you my story I forgot to add that my layout is from this weeks Crazy 4 challenges sketch by Mercy. You know I love all of Mercys sketches so I had to play along since this was her last week on the DT. Have a great day!

Summer Melon

Since summer has started I decided to pull out all my summer stamps this week and start playing with them. This adorable image from High Hopes caught my eye first. She is just a doll! If only it were a boy it would be perfect for my little man cuz he loves him some watermelon!LOL!! I colored this playing around with a hair color combo I saw on Kims blog yr14, yr18, e09, e19( I think she used 18 but I didnt have it so I used 19). I love playing around with different hair colors and skin tones. If I see one on someones blog I always jot it down and the blog to try later. So I have a post it note pad full of stuff by my computer!LOL! Okay so back to the card after coloring her hair, skin tone, and melon (r22, r24, r27, r29) cuz I mean what color are you gonna use other than red for that?!LOL! I had to decide what color I wanted to color her dress. So I thought she just looked like a blue kinda girl. I used B00, B01, and B12 for her dress. The grass was colored using yg21, 23, 25, and 63. So after I had her colored up she waited patiently on my desk for a couple of days before she made it onto this card today. I went looking for a sketch and found Jens sfytt and decided it was perfect for this little girl. Then I went onto hunt for some dp and staying true to my promise I pulled out my SU dp first. BINGO! Rainbow sherbert! I cut the girl with the circle nestie and sponged a little apricot appeal around the nestie to tie the color into my image. Im just weird that like!LOL! If I use a dp all the colors have to be somewhere in my image! Okay so these papers really are super bright so I had to tone them down a little with some antique linen sponged on them. I added a little ribbon from my ribbon stash and added one of Tori's bow and done! Thanks for stopping by today and listening to my babble!LOL! Hope you enjoyed the card!

Pajama Party

Can you tell how excited I am?!? 9 whole days off!! Yeah baby (said in my best Mike Meyers aka Austin Powers voice!LOL!) Okay I promise this is the last of the High Hopes cards for a few days but I was enjoying playing with them. Im telling you back in the day I was Sleepover Queen!LOL!! Just about every weekend I was at one of my friends house for a sleepover or vice versa. Since I promised to be good I wont tell yall what my Mom let us do one night at one of my sleepovers!LOL!
Remember when I posted my duck card and told you that you would see the Farmhouse dp again soon..well soon is here!LOL!! I colored up these pajama party cuties using the same colors as my duck card but adding in some skin and hair colors. Now yall know Im a sucker for a good sketch challenge so when I seen Mercys Tuesday sketch this week I knew it was perfect for these girls. The image is a little larger than the sketch calls for so I placed it in the center instead of off to the right but thats all I changed. I even used not just 1 but 2 primas from my stash!! yayy me!! I know the brown is called sprites and I *think* I got them from Electic paperie like 3 years ago. I also used a new to me border punch. Just in case I dont make it back to post over the weekend hope you all have a safe and happy Easter. Oh and btw I do have prek Easter party stories to share but that will have to wait for my next post!LOL!!

Another High Hopes Bunny

Im back today with another HH bunny image. Can you tell I've been working on some last minute Easter cards?!LOL!! I think this one is called Bunny with gift. Of course the image is colored with Copics and has all kinds of stickles added to it. I used frosted lace stickles for his tail and tummy. I used waterfall stickles on the blue parts of the egg. Limepeel stickles on the green and lavender stickles on the bow...told you alot of stickles!LOL!! This was another image I colored with no particular dp in mind but I found this piece of American crafts dp I think is called basket and its matches close enough. The yellow is actually the other side of the dp. I paired the dp with PTI spring rain and Coredinations purple. Ribbon was what I had the hardest time trying to match so I ended up using some PTI twill ribbon. The layout is Karens Sunday sketch and if you couldnt tell yesterday's card started off as the sketch but the image was way too large so I just made another card for it!LOL! One day to go!! Woo Hoo!!

Bunny with tulips

I went to Mamas this past weekend for our stamping therapy that was LONG overdue!! Of course since I was at her house I had to go through her/my stamps and came across some we had ordered last spring from High Hopes. I stamped this adorable bunny with tulips and colored him up with no particular dp in mind. I also played with Mamas airbrushing system while I was there and lets just say theres a definite learning curve to it!LOL!! Me thinks I'll stick with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol for shadowing from now on!LOL!! I really must have had this MME Be loved dp on my mind when I colored this image b/c they are pretty close to the colors. So since it was a close enough match to the dp I went for it. I sponged all the edges with distress ink and ran my bone folder on the edges of the melonberry layers and used Coredinations red. So since I was playin of course I forgot to write down any colors I used but I do know I used the e40's for the bunny Im pretty sure it was e 40, 41, 42, 43, and 44. As for the rest I have no clue!LOL!! Hope you have a great day! Only 2 more days til Spring Break and a week off! Woo!HOO!!!!

High Hopes Motherhood

Well here is the card I promised you on Tuesday you're just getting it a few days late!LOL!! Man what a week I had! Tuesday night my sis and I went to see the new Tyler Perry play. OMG!! I have NEVER laughed so hard! It was AWESOME!! Wed I had a teacher want a set of 30 all occasion cards that then on Thurs I had a teacher want 36 baby shower invites so I've been busy stamping this week just not stuff to share on my blog.
Okay onto the card with Spring approaching I pulled out all my springy sets with of course includes Easter and Mothers Day sets. I pulled out this adorable HH image I ordered last year that never got a chance to see ink. I had to have this image since of course I have 3 kids but several of my friends and family also have 3 kids so I knew I would get alot of use out of it. I tried using the feathering technique on the bunnys for some fur texture. I think it turned out pretty good but I definitely need more practice on it. I used Karens sweet Sunday sketch for my layout but of course its last weeks sketch. One of these weeks I will actually load a current challenge!LOL!! I do love this sketch though and do you see that?!...4 pieces of dp on my card! Yayy for me!! I rarely can make using lots of dp work (2 is usually my limit!) on my cards but this sketch was perfect for it. The inside of the card says "Motherhood can be a hare raising experience" Hope you have a great day!!
Stamps: High Hopes-Motherhood and sentiment
Paper: kraft, choc chip, BG bittersweet dp
Ink: memento black, copics, antique linen distress ink
Accessories: sponge dauber, nesties, choc chip grosgrain ribbon, pink dew drops, dimensionals

You have a pizza my heart

Im starting to get into Valentine mode here so I decided to go ahead and make my hubbys valentine card tonight. I colored up this Luigi image from High Hopes and paired him with some dp from Basic Grey (I think!) Junebug collection. I thought it was perfect for this Luigi image! I didnt want to add alot of girly embellies to his card so I just stuck with ribbon and he will have to get over it!LOL!! Hes not too picky about ribbon being on his cards since he know its my fave embellishment. I think this is just too cute!! I love this Luigi image with his heart shaped pizza. I forgot to take a pic of the inside but it looks just like the front except I stamped the sentiment "You have a pizza my heart" on the white layer instead of Luigi. Today was my first day back at work and let me tell you it was COLD this morning!LOL!! I had a great time these past 2 weeks with the kids and wish it didnt go by so fast. Hope you had a great Monday.

Meowy Christmas

Okay I dont usually say this about my cards but I just LOVE how this card turned out!! I think this HH kitty is the cutest in her Santa hat! I colored her using copics and decided to color her a pink hat instead of red. I used the out of the nestie technique for her hat and sponged some garden green ink around the image while it was still in the nestie. I added some frosted lace stickles to her hat too. I pulled out some MME dp my Mama gave me (gotta love her!!) to go with my kitty. The pink in the dp really is a closer match to PTI berry sorbet than it looks in the pic. I used Jens sfytt for my layout. I love this sketch too. Of course I had to add a buttony bow to it (Im so lovin these!LOL!) and some pewter dew drops. Thats it for me today! Hope you have had a great day! Bray lost one of his front teeth this morning so he can be singing "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" soon!LOL!!

Todays featured stamper is my sweet friend Lori! Yayyy Lori!! I had to case one of Lori's High hopes card since thats how we met on SCS! Lori and I also worked on THDT together. Mama and I actually got a chance to meet Lori irl at CHA and we had a blast! We laughed so much! Heres a pic of us after a long day!!LOL!!

Okay now onto the card...I chose Lori's We're all ears card. I used the same image and colored up the crows with copics and added some shadows using prismacolor pencils. I loved how Lori colored some of the kernels on the corn different colors so of course I added that too! I changed the layout to the wsc96. It was perfect since I wanted to use some new Recollections dp I picked up at Michaels yesterday. I stamped the sentiment from SU Lots of thoughts in more mustard and punched out with the ww punch and added a bridal flower. I added some paper piercing to finish off my card. This card will be on its way to Lori Tuesday to celebrate her special day!!

I love reading all of your comments..makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!LOL!

I was so glad to see Julias sanded challenge today. I love to sand the edges of my dp and I needed to stamp!!LOL! I colored up this sweet Singing Catrina image using copics (I had to get this image since my girls are both Hannah Montana crazy!) I had a hard time trying to match that razzleberry! Geesh!!LOL! I used primsacolor pencils for the shadows and sponged the edges with crushed curry. If you look real hard you can see I used Jens sfytt for this week but you have to look hard!LOL! It feels so good to stamp today even if I only got to do it b/c I had a child home sick from school today. I colored Gordon using copics and added some texture to his fur and the dirt with my markers. I cut the image out and embossed using nesties. I also sponged a sky using versamagic chalk ink. This is the first time I've done this and I love how it looks!! After you emboss your image just leave it in the die and sponge away! The chalk ink wipes right off your nestie using a baby wipe. I used todays sketch challenge for my layout. I also used some DCWV animal crackers dp that Mama gave me.

Sparkling Froggy Gift

I made this card for todays sketch challenge. Ive had this cloud 9 dp for the longest time. I love the sparkling frogs on it although my paper cutter didnt like it!LOL! The frogs are raised so it wasnt the easiest to cut. I paired it with HH froggy gift that I colored using copics. The colors in the dp were hard to match up. I ended up coloring his hat 3 times before I finally got it where I wanted. I finally ended up adding some cool gray shades to tone down the b01 to try to match the blue in the dp and then most of it got covered up!LOL!! I used labels 3 nesties to cut him out and added quickutz photo corners. I paper pierced the two sq panels and decided to leave off ribbon. Have a great day!!

Stamps: Froggy gift
Paper: textured night of navy, textured sahara sand, textured certainly celery, white, sparkling baby frogs dp

Follow the list beach scene

Sorry for the last post today. We just got home from a shopping trip to the LSS. I got some new goodies that I cant wait to play with but onto the card... When I saw todays Lsc list I knew Amys guest sketch would be a great layout for the list of required elements. I wanted to do a beach image so I went digging through my stamps and found this adorable High hopes beach scene! I colored it to look like my Bray! This image reminds me of him so much so I had alot of fun making this card! I colored him using copics listed below. I think my fave blue copic is b12 (ice blue) and this Coredinations cs matches it perfectly so I love using it! I paired it with Su kraft and green galore. I stamped the SU itty bitty background onto kraft using creamy caramel ink. For my embellies I used green gingham ribbon and kraft brads (my fave!!). Hope you have a great weekned its gonna be a hot one here!!

sc232 Behind Brayden

I love this image from High hopes and of course I had to get it b/c the name of the stamp is Brayden! They also had a stamped named Shannon on this same release. When the stamps came in the mail I showed it to Brayden and told him it was named Brayden he said I not a donkey!LOL! I colored Brayden over the weekend while we were at the beach. I took my prismacolor pencils and gamsol b/c Ive neglected them since Ive gotten copics. I used todays sketch for my layout. For the sq panels I decided to use a larger prima folded in half. I saw Amy R do this on one of her cards and liked how it looked. I had to make the card a 5 1/4" sq since the image is so large. Ive also been staming the inside of my cards but I always forget to take a pic but I didnt today!

Stamps: Brayden, little behind sentiment
Paper: white, Coredinations, ghostly greetings dp
Ink: versafine onyx
Accessories: prismacolor pencils, gamsol, buttons, primas, twine, paper piercer

Whats up Gorilla friend?!?!

Today I thought Id share a card with you I made for the High hopes challenge. The challenge this week is pink and brown! Love it! I pulled out some of American crafts tropical cs. I love this pink! I paired it with SU choc chip. Ive seen where lots of people are using the Labels 3 nesties and circles and I have to say I love the look of it! I pierced the corners of the label also.

I colored the super cute High hopes gorilla using copics and added a few highlights using my white gel pen. I also blushed the cheeks a little and added a dot of white gel pen too. The sentiment cracks me up! I made this for one of my gorilla friends!LOL! Have a great day!

Aloha Leilani

I love ballet blue so I had to play along in todays color challenge. My girls have put in some request for cards to give their friends since its getting close to the end of the school year. As if I wasnt already behind on their teachers cards!LOL! I thought this little girl from High hopes would be perfect! I started the card with a sketch but had to completely change it. I colored and outlined the image using copics. I added stardust stickles to the flowers. Shes just so cute shes gotta have a little sparkle!!LOL!! I popped the image up on dimensionals and stamped the sentiment along the ballet blue panel. I added some wasabi (green pea) brads from Pink hedgehog papercrafts between the sentiment. I wanted them to be more centered but oh well! They look like wasabi periods!LOL! After I got my card put together the right side looked a little bare so I added some paper piercing.

Stamps: Leilani, aloha sentiment
Paper: wild wasabi, cameo coral, ballet blue, white
Ink: memento black, copics r22, rv42,yg25, yg63, b21, b23, b24, e51, e53, e59, e49, e47, c1, stardust stickles

Miss Zoe case

Ive been taking a break from stamping and blogging while the kids have been on spring break but I had to play along in the Fs challenge today. I adore HH stamps and was thrilled to see Inge as todays FS!! Congrats!! I cased her just saying hello card. I got this Miss Zoe image last month and just had to ink her up for todays challenge! I colored her using copics. I "tried" to make some stripes on the kitty-can you see them!?!LOL! I used Taylors sketch for my layout. I love Inges use of different dps but Im not that brave!LOL! I used a dp that was similar to one of her other cards I found while browsing through her gallery but stuck to just one. I do like how she does the dp corners so I used it on my card. Hope you're having a great day!! Happy Easter!
