Time for books and coff ieeeee

This month I show you another fantastic figure.

Found him as a free STL file on the internet HERE

If you know me a little bit,

you know that I am always looking for non violent figures. 

And this one is so funny, I had to have it.

Just sent the link to my bonus son: The Frost City

Fortunately, my bonus son has a 3D printer,

and I ordered 2

so I could duel with these on Bennosfiguresforum.

I chose a somewhat colorful outfit, 

and decided to give him socks with a stripe pattern.

But that was not the intended result,

so it ended up being a diamond pattern.

In the end everything was in a color combo I liked,

and even though the coffee broke down 2x during the painting process,

I was happy with the final result,

just need to take some pictures for the duel....

And yes, I want to take it off the painter's helper,

and crack.... ohhh no....

So off to work with the superglue again,

first his leg and later for the third time the coffee,

and then touch everything up again with paint.

Eventually this also gave me the obligation 

to give the bottom of his stockings

a slightly different motif through the glue layer.

This result too was satisfactory.

And even though my opponent also made a great entry,

I got to declare myself the winner for once. 

A nice little figure, though difficult to paint with the books,

but highly recommended as far as I'm concerned.

X-mas girl

Like every year in december

this is my december duel entry in X-mas style

And like most of the times I lost

My opponent had painted her as a Bavarian beer lady, 

really a great job like she walked out of the Ocktoberfest!

But for me it was another Christmas entry

and also my december post on my blog as well

This figure is from Reaper Miniatures

but I missed some details what could have made her better

She is made from metal, the arm with cup had to be glued

The cup was decorates with a dear (Rudolph)

And I must say some parts where extra fun to paint

but for me it was also hard to do it right

Since X-mas is over, and we are getting into 2023

It's Christmas time again..

So I found a perfect lady for this occasion

on the website of Speirra Miniatures 

they sell fantastic 3D printed figures

She was my entry of a duel on Benno's Figures Forum

and for the first time since ages I won, WOW

I gave her a traditional red dress with white details

As you could see on the first picture of this post

I tried to paint reindeer on the mugs

On her back I painted a few extra gold buttons as a detail

I also painted the toenails red, it's Christmas after all 

 

I am very happy with the base, 

with different colors on the stones it shows pretty real

I made the beer head shine with some silver brush

but that's hard to see on the pictures

I hope you liked her, maybe next year another Asterix X-mas figure.

This month a cool dwarf figure,

with a beer mug in his hand.

I tried to paint it as colorful as I could.

And also not the same colors as my opponent, 

yes because this figure also participated in a duel.

And like always I lost again (with 7 votes).

But it was fun, and I liked my result.

My opponent was my bonus son, who also painted him great, orange hair

and a nice red nose makes the figure even more powerful in my opinion. 

A well deserved winner.

I had added a ring as a secret weapon, with a drop of PVA glue.

A nice little detail.

The figure is from Reeper Bones, a plastic figure with a low price

And we both won a medal for participating on our duel.

Funny detail is that the color mug confirmed the outcome in advance.

How nice is that!

It was fun again, now back to my Romains!

 This month a realy fun post

because I did challenge my bonus-son for a duel

He did choose a nice lady from the Bones range

of Reaper miniatures nr. 77088 

called Townfolkes Grandmother

The duel ended in his favor, yeah I lost again..

But it was fun to do this together!

I did paint her with a striped dress

She turned out well

and because Jurrien doesn't have a blog

His well deserved winning figure

With a cool idea to make a flower dress.
