TRAILER: Kill Kringle Kill

Hey everyone, I've got some more Trailer Obscura goodies for you to munch on. This time it's a Christmas themed slasher flick called Kill Kringle Kill. It's the sequel to last years Tis the Season to be DEAD, and follows the crazy and psychotic holiday hating Henry Kringle as he starts out on yet another, blood filled massacre.

As usual, there's no shortage of camp and the thing is played out like a grindhouse feature with trash, grunge, and all. Let's not delay this train wreck any longer. Check it out for yourself and feel the holiday horror of.... Kill Kringle Kill!

Corjo: The Killer Corgi Trailer

It's Trailer Obscura time! I've just finished a short trailer for my ongoing trailer compilation project and this one features a killer rabid corgi. Yeah, you heard right. A killer rabid corgi named Corjo!

The title role of the little bastard is played by my very own hell hound, Willow, who in his own right is a pain in the ass. We were playing out back and he was covered in mud looking like something out of Cujo so I thought, what the hell let's make this a trailer.

I basically filmed it on the spot and then whipped up this trailer in a matter of seconds, but it's still very effective in portraying an off the wall Grindhouse type vibe. Hopefully it's entertaining, so check it out.

The Wanderer Trailer

Well as promised, I've got the fresh out of the oven trailer for my obscure little film, The Wanderer. The trailer is a nice quick addition to the trailer compilation that I've been working on and it's more of an abstract piece for me. It's a real quick take on the repetitive trailer concept that was so prevalent in the Grindhouse circuit and other cult films of that era. I had a good time playing around with it and I think I was able to come up with something original and fairly entertaining. Well, that's it for now and enjoy the trailer.

What The Hell Have I Been Doing: The Wanderer

Another update is upon us and this time I've got another trailer in the works. This one is for an obscure film called The Wanderer. I'm creating the trailer from just a handful of stills that I took over almost 10 years ago for a college project.  When it's done it will be rather short, but it should add a nice mixture to the trailer compilation when it's all put together. Well here are the choice stills that I have so enjoy and stay tuned for the trailer next week.

Nothing wrong with a simple title design.

What kind of creep hangs around a cemetery in the middle of winter?

Nothing to see here. Just packing up my ax.

Looks like something out of an REM music video. Everybody hurts.

I'm taking the long walk of shame.

The Book of Jacob Huxley Trailer

Hey everyone. I'm back again with another damn trailer. This one is actually an old one from way back in the day, but I recently edited it all together and added some familiar music from the Maniac soundtrack to spice it up a bit. I'm gonna be including it into my trailer compilation project along with my Musky Trailer, Tis The Season To Be DEAD Trailer, and my Soulless Trailer that I've already previously talked about here on The Lucid Nightmare.

The movie, The Book of Jacob Huxley, was initially filmed in 2002 I believe with directorial efforts by my friend Scott Martin. Unfortunately it was never finished, but we shot enough footage that I was able to piece together a sort of summary of the film. It's a long trailer, but I think that it makes for a unique viewing experience because it's like you're viewing a mini movie of sorts. So without any further explanation, here is the elongated trailer for The Book of Jacob Huxley.

Soulless Trailer

Well, I finished the trailer for Soulless over the weekend as planned and here it is. It actually turned out pretty good and gives off the kind of vibe that the rest of the short film does, so I'm pretty much happy with it for the most part.

For those of you that don't know, the story of Soulless is about a man trying to redeem his wife's soul, by hunting down the vampire that infected her. The world that this film is set in is a kind of winter apocalypse where the population is dwindling and the only survivors wander the frozen wasteland during the day in search of food and supplies, while at night they barricade themselves inside and cling to religious artifacts to help keep them safe from the Soulless creatures outside.

It's a low key and subtle film, but I might have pushed the envelope on some of the imagery. I know my friends were a little skittish during certain moments of shooting the film. Well without any further ado, here's the trailer. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

WHAT THE HELL HAVE I BEEN DOING: Soulless

It's time for another update on what I've been doing with my time outside of the blog-o-sphere and as of most recently, I've been working on another trailer for my trailer compilation project. This time it's a hybrid of french new wave cinema styles with a blood splattering of vampire and religious lore that I like to call, Soulless. This was initially going to be a short film and I'm basically 60% done with the filming of it, but for now I transformed it into a nice addition for my trailer compilation project. I still need to think of a name for this monstrosity of trailer goodness.

The trailer is all edited at the moment and all I need to do is create some catchy melodies to accompany the depressing visuals. Hopefully I'll be able to churn some stuff out this weekend and complete it. For now, here's a few stills from the trailer to give you an idea of what it looks like. Enjoy and stay tuned for the full trailer and a long list of overdue reviews.

Pretty sweet and classy looking production logo.
This place is dead!
This scene was a pain in the ass and very tiring.
Very cool shot and for some reason makes me think of Carnival of Souls.
Finally made it to the homestead.
Roll out the assortment of weapons. Vampires beware!
I really love this holy water shot with the cross in the background.
A pretty strange shot that is surprisingly ominous.
Shit there's someone behind me!
Getting ready to do some damage.
A haunting shot from the basement of my cottage.
A weird shot but for some reason I'm digging it.
One of my favorite shots in the film. Looks so damn bad ass!
Back you demon!
Burn baby burn!
A simple but effective title.

Tis The Season To Be DEAD Trailer

As promised, here's the trailer for my Grindhouse inspired Christmas slasher flick, Tis The Season To Be DEAD. We filmed all of the scenes on three separate occasions and it took me about 3 hours to compose all the of music for the trailer. Hopefully, I can churn out a few more of these kind of trailers, along with my MUSKY! trailer and combine them all into one long film reel of Grindhouse goodness.

I've got a few ideas in the pipeline like an italian Giallo called In the Eye of the Violet Prism, a twin slasher flick called Gemini Syndrome, and a Sasquatch film called It Came From The Woods. With luck I'll be able to complete those in the next coming months.

Well, enough of the chit chat, here's the trailer for Tis The Season To Be DEAD. Enjoy.

WHAT THE HELL HAVE I BEEN DOING: Tis The Season To Be Dead

As some of you might know, when I'm not blogging I'm working on countless video projects that quench my thirst and love for cinema and take up a large amount of my free time. Well one of my most recent projects comes in the form of a Christmas themed Grindhouse horror flick called 'Tis The Season To Be Dead'. The project is much in the same vain as my Musky! Trailer, that I did a few months ago.

After working on 'Musky!' and having such a great time filming the thing, I decided to keep the momentum going and possibly start creating a whole entire collection of these kind of short movie trailers. This idea sprouted from the same concept that director Eli Roth was rumored to start work on called Trailer Trash, but sadly he has yet to get his ass in gear and follow through with this interesting concept.

Well I'm tired of waiting for him to get it together so in that mind set, I'm going to continue to churn these babies out every so often and eventually compile them all onto a DVD with Grindhouse inspired commercials and advertisements in-between each trailer. It should be entertaining as hell when it's all finally put together.

The current trailer that I'm working on is called Tis The Season To Be Dead. It's a Christmas slasher film where a deranged man named Henry Kringle goes completely berserk on Christmas night, dressing up as santa and executing a bloody massacre as he judges who has been naughty and nice. The style is definitely from somewhere in the 70's and 80's and I've added a few Giallo elements to make it more of a hybrid piece.

As of now, I've just completed all of the filming on Tis The Season To Be Dead and all of the editing and color correction work has been completed. Now all I have to do is compose a handful of musical tracks to accompany the piece and we should be good to go.

For now, I have a slew of stills for you to check out which should give you a pretty clear idea and a sense of the flavor of this demented Christmas flick. I'll be posting the full trailer up as soon as it is completed, but for now enjoy the screen captures and Merry F'n Christmas!

Main Title shot at end of trailer.
A nice stylized shot of my made up production company.
Me in full Henry Kringle mode, as I dust off a Santa figurine.
Another shot of me in my workshop. What a nutjob!
It's time for Kringle to kill!
What kind of a pervert jerks off with a ski mask on? NAUGHTY!
Santa disapproves and marks another name down in his list.
Santa uses an illegal choke hold to get the job done.
I make a hideous women, but damn does that Christmas sweater look nice.
Not even the camera man is safe from..... SANTA!
A trippy sequence where Henry Kringle begins to lose his mind.
Stare into the soul of a maniac.
Another colorful sequence inspired by the imagery found in most Giallos.
Santa is pissed off!
Who knew that Santa knew opera?
Peekaboo you fucks you!
Probably one of my favorite scenes in this trailer.
What a disgusting peace of trash.
Ding Dong. You're dead!
Not what you want to see when looking in the rear view mirror.
Scared out of his mind?
Shitting his pants?
My wife gets involved in the slasher festivities as a victim of Kringle.
Henry Kringle is a bad ass!
Don't piss this trailer trash off. He's got nunchucks!
Pre nunchuck action.
Damn that boy's got skill with a nunchuck!
A pretty bad ass shot of Kringle with ax ready.
Henry Kringle's killing spree continues in.... Kill Kringle Kill!
