From January 16th

KJ, who comes to our house most Saturdays, wasn't feeling well last week, and his eczema was flaring up, but that didn't stop him from having some fun.  He loves to draw.

KJ had fun eating with a big person's fork.

I had fun watching KJ pick out all the same sized Duplos he could hold, and build with them.

KJ, you are such a busy boy, and we love hearing all the words you can say!

A New Blog

Unlike many grandmas, who scrapbook, or at least print lots of photos and put them in photo books, I take loads of photos, and email them to family. I have this bright idea that I can handle another blog. Since we have Grandson most Saturdays, I want to see about posting some of our experiences so we can read them to him when he comes over. I thought about addressing him here, but don't think I'd be able to do that consistently, so I'll just write, not expecting my garden friends to keep up with this. I imagine some of the extended family may like to read this from time to time.

For now, I will call him KJ, even though my husband doesn't like that for a nickname. Maybe I'll think of another one.

These photos are from January 9. KJ, who turned 2 this month, loves to help me unload the dishwasher. Even though Grandpa doesn't always put things away where they go, KJ knows, and he puts them away, sometimes needing me to lift him up. He even knows where to put the things on my messy shelf. This day, he felt a tea jar lid when putting something away, and picked it up as he gave me a look, wondering why it was on that shelf. I put him down, asking if he remembered where it goes, and he walked right over to the tea jars under the table, and put it with them. This is the first day he actually dried some dishes all by himself. What a great helper!

KJ enjoyed the soup I made. He says everything, too. I loved hearing him say, "soup".

KJ does have a bit of a temper. I can't remember if this was taken before or after his fit. I wanted to get him to tear the cheese stick, and when I started it, he had a meltdown. He does sometimes need to be reminded to chew his food and swallow before taking more bites.

He looked like he was smiling, having a good dream during his nap.

We love you, KJ!
