A Fun Day at Pioneers Park

I have gotten more behind than ever on this blog, partly because I've been posting photos in albums on Facebook.  Now that I am having problems sharing photos to Facebook, I decided to skip some months, hoping to go back to some of them another time.

On Saturday, August 11, we had a fun day, and here are some pictures to help us remember it.

First, we went to the Nature Center and walked on some trails.  We found this place, I think, called a natural playground on one of the trails.

I love that Dawson trait of the tongue out when concentrating.

There were two or three elk that we watched for awhile.

It was a beautiful day! I took these photos with my cell phone camera, by the way.

We saw LOTS of bullfrogs in the water and on the banks, even though the water level was low.

I was happy that I got to see some native plants.   A little past this area is where I helped plant a few seeds in this spring, but it was mostly taken over by weeds.

We drove over to see the buffaloes before going to the other playground.  K was telling Larry and me that these are yaks, not buffaloes.  We got out of the car to see them, and K told the other people out there too, that these are yaks.  He was very certain of it, and not about to be persuaded otherwise. I got a photo of a yak on my phone to show him, but there was a glare, and I still don't think he was convinced that these are buffaloes.  LOL

We got lots of exercise that day!

When we got to our house, C and Grandpa got a couple hour nap in.  K did some puzzles and games on my computer.  He loved this dot to dot page, and I was impressed he knew his numbers that well.  I like this program, because it tells him if the number is wrong, and he can try again.  It's not just lines that form when the numbers are pushed, but shapes of whatever the picture is.

At the last number, the picture is filled with color.  I love that look of delight!

Daddy's birthday is August 11.  Since he had to work, we celebrated Monday.

I hope to keep up with this blog better.  Guys, we are happy to see you guys playing with each other more.  We love you both very much!
